Beanum The LORD is on my side; I will not fear: what can man do unto me? - Psalm 118:6 V I S I T U S! reetings in the marvelous name of Jesus Christ, the captain of salvation, our sooncoming King. Of a truth, we can say, had it not been for the Lord who was on our side! May we say it again, had it not been for the Lord who was on our side, these past years when men rose up against us; then they would have swallowed us up quick, when their wrath was kindled against us (Psalm 124:3-4). Now, thanks be to God, having this experience in years past, as we approach the New Year, we have more confidence and faith to face all challenges/ changes that are to come. This is when the people of God must stand still and see the salvation of the Lord. For He s in full control. The earth is His and the fullness thereof. Let's not be afraid, nor dismayed by reason of great multitudes of changes - for the battle is not ours, but the Lord's. The Lord does not want us to look at situations, but look unto the hills from whence cometh our help; for all of our help comes from the Lord, which made the heaven and the earth. He will not suffer our feet to be moved; he that keepeth us will not slumber, Behold he that keepeth us shall neither slumber nor sleep. (Psalm 121:1-4) We are not to fret because of evildoers, neither be envious against the workers of iniquity. For they shall be cut down like grass, and wither as the green herb. But, to trust in the Lord, and do good; so shall we dwell in the land, and verily we will be fed. (Psalm 37:1-3) So let's delight ourselves also in the Lord; and he will give us the desires of our hearts. Continue to Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths (Proverbs 3:5-6). Hallelujah, to the name of the Lord, for the best is yet to come. May you be blessed with a Happy and Joyous New Year. Amen. Location: 5756 Zachary Taylor Highway Mineral, Virginia Online:
2 A Word from Our Editor... Submitted by: Sis. Marilyn Silver Don t Let NOTHING Shake YOUR Faith in God! Praise the Lord and Happy New Year to ALL of our readers. We are excited and overjoyed to be able to see another year. Some did not make it, but we are the ones who did. The favor of God is upon us as we move to higher heights and deeper depths in the Lord. I would like to encourage you, my brothers and sisters, to look at 2017 through the eyes of Christ. Acknowledge Him in all your ways. When the enemy comes in like a flood, the Lord said He would lift up a standard against him. Remember...that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong (Eccles. 9:11). The battle is not ours but it s the Lord s. Don t waste time in the boxing ring fighting the enemy. Leave God s work in His Hands, for we must be about our Father s business. As the day of the Lord draws nigh., keep your eyes heavenward, and your faith grounded in Christ Jesus. God s blessings be upon you in 2017 and always! Let the words of this song encourage your soul. Temple Elders Speak... (sung by the Consolers) When the storms are raging high, and good fortune just passed you by, You may have hard trials along this way Sometimes trials and tribulations may block your way When your day doesn t go as plan, hold to God s unchanging hand. If your friends should turn around you go on. If your friends should turn around you go on. Don t you wait for no one else, you ve got to seek God for yourself. The race is not given to the swift, The battle is not given to the strong But be thou faithful unto death God will give you a crown of Life. God Was, God Will Be, God Is!! By: Elder Burnett Adams, Jr. God bless you, my brothers and sisters. I am honored to write to you again. I know if God did it before He will do it again. We have closed for the 2016 year and we re going into 2017 what a blessing!! I am excited to know that it is God s Grace and Mercy that have brought us all this far, and certainly, He will carry us through whatever life challenges are for us in God was, God will be, and God is!! Knowing this is enough to keep hope alive in our hearts. I have a question. Can we really go another year without becoming more serious about seeking God? At this point, we have been seeking to know God better by searching the scriptures and even praying, but remember without faith it is impossible to please God. For those that will come to God, must believe that God really exists and that He will reward those that diligently seek Him. What this means is that a person who is diligently seeking after God will go to any length to find God s will and purpose for their life and obey His word!! God did say in 1 Timothy 2:8, I will therefore that men pray everywhere, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting. Also, in 1 Timothy 2:4, God tells us that He will have all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. Although, this is a new year, with a new President of our country, but it s the same GOD who was, He will be and He is!! Yes, if God did it before - He will do it again. In Jesus name, Amen!! 3 Temple Men Speak... Celebrating Earth s Happy New Year vs Renewing of Your Mind? By: Deacon Larry Adams, Sr. Praise the lord saints. Each year we speak about how we are going to celebrate our new year festivities. The book of Ecclesiastes 1:9 states, "and there is no new thing under the sun." However, Romans 12:2 talks about the word new in a slightly different sense. Whereas, Paul talks about the renewing of your mind. When we look at the subject matter here, and our priorities - In celebrating earth's Happy New Year vs Renewing of Your Mind - which is the highest priority to be heaven bound? I think Paul in Romans 12:2 concluded the matter perfectly stating, "And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. Therefore, in 2017 or in two, zero, one, seven. Celebrate the new year. Let Jesus know- You want to go - to His Father's heaven! And with that simple rhyme, take the steps with the right priority by being transformed by the renewing of your mind. Saints, stay with Jesus. Have a Blessed-Mind Renewing, Happy New Year. We love you with the love of Jesus!!! Pre-Thanksgiving Service Tuesday, November 22nd, our Pre-thanksgiving service was held at 8 pm. Praises were offered unto the Lord as we gathered together to lift up His name. Our praise team (Elder Robert Brice, Sisters April Sims, Kimberly Smith and Brother Marcus Orr) inspired our hearts and our Master of Ceremony, Elder Clinton Porter, Sr. encouraged us as he allowed the Lord to use him to uplift the service. Mother Joyce Rock opened with a warm welcome address. Our Youth Department shared testimonies, songs of praise and a poem unto the Lord. Participating Youths were Sisters Christina Bullock, Alexis Jackson, Camille Jones and Imani Lewis, Brothers Brian Silver and Marcus Orr. We were blessed with a fervent poem by Sis. Florence Givens, and anointed solos were rendered by Sisters Rhonda Woolfolk and April Sims. Our very own Elders Tim Williams read from 2 Corinthians 1:18-20 and Jason Lewis shared Psalm 103:1 and they took us higher while expounding the Word of God. Praise God for His Word. It is food for our souls. Thanks to everyone who supported the service. Let s give thanks in ALL things. God bless you. Psalm 136:1-12 (KJV) 1 O give thanks unto the Lord; for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever. 2 O give thanks unto the God of gods: for his mercy endureth for ever. 3 O give thanks to the Lord of lords: for his mercy endureth for ever. 4 To him who alone doeth great wonders: for his mercy endureth for ever. 5 To him that by wisdom made the heavens: for his mercy endureth for ever. 6 To him that stretched out the earth above the waters: for his mercy endureth for ever. 7 To him that made great lights: for his mercy endureth for ever: 8 The sun to rule by day: for his mercy endureth for ever: 9 The moon and stars to rule by night: for his mercy endureth for ever. 10 To him that smote Egypt in their firstborn: for his mercy endureth for ever: 11 And brought out Israel from among them: for his mercy endureth for ever: 12 With a strong hand, and with a stretched out arm: for his mercy endureth for ever. 5 Temple Women Speak... The Beginning of a New Year By: Sister Shirley Moody At the beginning of a new year, we anticipate excitement, hope, dreams, triumphs, and even challenges. It is the time of the year that forces one to look toward the future with a positive goal in mind. It is often called, a new year s resolution. It is when we face the challenge from last year and resolve to move ahead with a triumphant spirit. As we face our challenges we can have joy and fulfillment as we center our life in Christ. As we anchor our hope in the belief that God is our provider and the strong arm that we lean on, we can live out our dreams and aspirations in the beauty of His amazing grace. We can live a life that is pure, real, and whole in Christ Jesus as we move through this New Year. We can enjoy all that God has for us as we meet our THANKS TO YOU Thank God for our Missionary Department who prepared Thanksgiving bags that were distributed to the community. Special thanks to Sis. Roberta Johnson, Missionary President; Sister Shirley Johnson, Vice-President and Deacon Major White for overseeing this Thanksgiving project. Many thanks to all who volunteered so faithfully. Thanks also to all who contributed Christmas bags to the Health Care Centers. Your labor of love is appreciated. May God bless each of you who shopped, packed and delivered the bags with love and sincerity. Thank God for our Health Care and Assisted Living Ministries with Elders Clinton Porter, Sr. and Tim Williams who share the Word of God monthly to those who cannot get out to fellowship with the saints. Many thanks to the volunteers who support the monthly services. Thanks to our Prison Ministry Team Pastor Lynn Beanum, Elder Robert Johnson, Deacons Bobby Carter; Steve Robinson and all volunteers. It is not just during the Holidays that challenges with the love of our Savior, and the endurance of great faith. Live a life of encouragement. Pass that encouragement on to each new person you meet. We are writing the book of our life each day. In the words of Brad Paisley, Tomorrow is the first blank page of a 365-day book. Write a good one. Let your life model joy, peace, contentment, and enduring strength beyond measure. Then, we will experience the peace of God which passeth all understanding. ( Phil. 4:7.) Have a great New Year! these workers go out to bless others, but it s all year long. Many thanks to our entire Temple Of Deliverance Family. To Pastor and Mother Beanum, and ALL who have blessed and sacrificed selflessly, not just to the TOD family, but to several communities and surrounding counties. God sees, He knows and He cares. Keep the faith, fight a good fight, and submit your ways unto the Lord. Stay in the RACE!!! 1 Corinthians 15:58 (KJV) 58 states, Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord. Baptism: Dec. 4th Sister Shelley Green was excited to be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. The congregation witnessed this great event and rejoiced with her. Please continue to keep her in prayer and encourage her to fight a good fight of faith as she seeks to learn more about Jesus. We are here for you and we love you. May God bless and keep you in His care. Volume 37, Issue 1 - January 1, 2017 Page 5

We praise God for the outpouring of the anointing, the inspiring testimonies, and for the powerful word preached by Elder Leslie Gales, Sr., along with the thoughtprovoking and relevant words of wisdom from Lady Rose Gales! We continue to feast on the spiritual meat and drink we enjoyed. She taught about the history of women being called to wail and to pray for the nation of Israel, and how we are called to wail and pray today. Our Theme was: "Call for the Wailing WomenBecause Prayer is the Answer" and in response to the theme Elder Gales preached "Help Is On The Way!" Just thinking about it makes me want to shout and sing! Elder Leslie Gales, and Sister Rose Gales, we appreciate YOU!! Sis. Michelle Smith Sis. April Sims President Page 6 In Loving Memory please continue to pray for the Smith Family. 8 TEMPLE YOUTH SPEAK Can a Young Person Keep Themselves Pure? BY: SISTER TARA LEWIS Temptations are ever present. Today's youth encounter temptation at school, home, at the mall, and all over social media. How is a young person suppose to keep themselves pure in such a perverse society? David asked the same question in Psalms 119:9 and provided the answer. "How can a young person stay on the path of purity? By living according to your word." Jesus showed us how to do this when he was tempted by the devil in Matthew the 4th chapter. Every time the devil tempted Him, Jesus responded with the Word of God. Not just once but EVERY t i m e u n t i l t h e d e v i l b a c k e d o f f. In our life, temptations will come but we can overcome and live pure lives. We overcome by living according to God's word. It is the word that we need in the face of temptation. It is the word that paves the way of escape. It is God's word and His Holy Spirit that empowers and allows us to live pure and free. Feel free to use your BIBLES! Page 8 Temple Of Deliverance HCG, Inc., Newsletter
9 A R E G I V E R S God s Sure Love ( Posted by Sharon O R N E R It is so difficult in our human minds to reconcile two truths. One truth is that God loves us. The other truth is that God allows us to face very difficult challenges and even suffering in this life. Sometimes the challenges and suffering we face tempt us to doubt God s love for us. Caregiving by definition is challenging at best. If a caregiver is put into the position of witnessing his or her loved one s health continue to deteriorate step by step, that caregiver might also experience discouragement, grief, and a host of other negative emotions. Even though God s ways are difficult to understand sometimes, one truth to which Christian caregivers can cling, however, is the truth of God s overflowing and certain love for them. God is the very definition of love. We tend to think that when life is easy and comfortable God must love us. Conversely, if things are difficult and challenging in our lives; we may be tempted to think God no longer cares for us. If we begin to see things from God s perspective, however, we realize that suffering and challenges have purpose and meaning. Christian caregivers know that the emotional, spiritual, and physical challenges of caregiving are molding their characters. They know that somehow God is going to bring good out of the chaos, heartache, and overwhelming challenges of caregiving. They know that God is going to be with them each step of the way supporting them and sustaining them with His love and power. Dear Christian caregiver. Rest in the truth of God s love for you in the midst of all the negative emotions that caregiving can produce. Trust that He in His love will lead you through this difficult process. Trust that good will come out of all of the heartaches and challenges of caregiving. Just rest and trust in His love. Thank You! We greatly appreciate the many readers just like yourself, who have contributed to the Newsletter with your prayers, encouragements and monetary blessings! It s because of you and, of course, Our Lord & Savior Jesus Christ that we are able to distribute this monthly newsletter to thousands of souls across the nation.
