Proverbs 31:26-27 V I S I T U S! r e e t i n g s in the loving name of the Lord Jesus Christ, our Savior, and soon -coming King. "Mothers!" How much did/do we thank God for our mothers? How much did/do we pray for our Mothers? We can be so selfish at times, praying for all those different things, but we forget the Mothers who brought us into the world. In honor of Mother's Day, let us, if possible change our relationships with our Mothers/Mother figures, and our wives by giving God praises for the many sacrifices they have made or make for us. Being a Mother is a very important role that the Lord chooses to give many women. A Christian Mother is told to love her children (Titus 2:4-5), in part, so that she does not bring reproach on the Lord our Savior, whose name she bears. Thanks to God for blessing me with a wonderful Mother, and my wife, who is the Mother of our children. Hannah s story is one of the most touching in the Bible. She knew what it meant to suffer long years of bareness. She was taunted by her husband's other wife; however, Hannah never gave up on God. Her heartfelt prayers were answered, and she gave birth to a son named Samuel. Hannah honored God selflessly and gave her son to Him. In return, God blessed her with favor and gave her five more children. Whatever our cause may be, let's put all of our trust in God, believing/ knowing that He will, and He does answer prayers. Again, we give thanks unto the Lord for Christian Mothers who are examples and workers unto the God of our Salvation. May every Mother have a most wonderful and special day. Happy Mother's Day! 2 A Word from Our Editor-by: Sis. Marilyn Silver Can Anything Good Come Out Of This? Greetings in the marvelous name of Jesus. Happy Mother s Day to All Mothers! It is by the grace of God and His great mercy that He has allowed us to see another day. In traveling through the scriptures we find that Jesus abode in many cities, one of which was Nazareth. Nazareth was a small city with a questionable history. Not too many good things were noted about Nazareth. The people there were resistant to obeying the commandments of God. Nazareth was a city avoided by many. It was considered a wicked city and known for its sinful acts. It had a rough reputation. Nevertheless, Jesus came out of Nazareth! Note John 1:43-46 reads, 43 The day following Jesus would go forth into Galilee, and findeth Philip, and saith unto him, Follow me. 44 Now Philip was of Bethsaida, the city of Andrew and Peter. 45 Philip findeth Nathanael, and saith unto him, We have found him, of whom Moses in the law, and the prophets, did write, Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph. 46 And Nathanael said unto him, Can there any good thing come out of Nazareth? Philip saith unto him, Come and see. Dear Readers, when we allow the Lord Jesus Christ into our situations (our cities, our homes, our lives) we find good things will happen. Perhaps your situation looks bleak; your plans fell through, your body is ill, your money is looking funny, but don t stop praying. Know that out of the ashes, out of this comes hope and peace. God has it all under control. As Philip said unto Nathanael, Come and see. See that Christ is the answer. Can anything good come out of my messed up life, or my bad situation? Yes, unequivocally, yes! There is nothing too hard for God. We fall down but we GET BACK UP! You are not counted out. Make up your mind to trust God more now than ever before. He wants to prove Himself to you and me. The Bible reminds us that, When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord shall lift up a standard against him (Isaiah 59:19). Don t doubt the Lord. Trust Him and watch Him move on your behalf. Be blessed and know that God is God and He always will be GOD! Yes, God can bring good out of your situation. Come and see! T e m p l e E l d e r s S p e a k by: Elder Clinton Porter, Sr. The Character of a Godly Christian Mother Praise the Lord. We give thanks to the Lord for his goodness, mercy, and love. For it endureth forever. We thank God for this time to show appreciation to All Mothers. A Godly Christian Mother will love her children at all times, no matter what they do. The love for the children does not depend on the circumstances. The influence and character of a Godly Mother mean a lot in the church. This calls to remembrance where Paul speaks of the unfeigned faith that was in Timothy, which dwelt first in his grandmother, Lois, and his mother Eunice (II Timothy 1:5). Read Titus 2:3-5 KJV, 3 The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things; 4 That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children, 5 To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed. 3 Temple Men Speak by: Dea. Junius Marshall A FATHER'S LOVE Praise the Lord everyone. L We are told that a mother's L love is different from the father's, L I don't dispute it, and we give praise L to all the mothers. In Luke 15, beginning L Stay planted in God s house at the 11th verse, it tells about a prodigal or lost L son. A lot of emphasis is put on the son who took L everything and left home. He left all the comforts of family, L 0 V E and love behind. Even though the Father didn't want this, he granted the son his wish. God (Father) doesn't twist our arms to force us to do the right thing. But, He wants the best for us; the blessings, healings, grace, favor, and love. We have all that in the house. Mind you now, we all were born in sin and have come short of the grace of God. But, once we are in Christ, we have all the house has to offer, because He loves us. And, because of that love of the Father, not the love of the prodigal son, he thought about what was left back at the house. He wanted to go back. The Father never stopped loving the son. I can imagine the Father standing on the balcony searching, looking, waiting for his son. The scripture says, the Father sees the son afar off and ran to him, and welcomed him home in so much that a great party was thrown. We encourage you to stay in the house. If you have left, come back home. The Father still loves you. He's waiting; He's looking with open arms. Few of us are free from difficult challenges. The challenges of caregiving can be intense. As a caregiver one can feel so alone. Only a fellow caregiver can begin to understand the intensity of the emotions that accompany caring for a loved one who has an incurable disease. As a caregiver sometimes people would say things to me like You are so strong, or You are a good example of perseverance in your Christian life. This would often make me feel somewhat guilty when they would express such thoughts. I was not strong at all. Were it not for God s grace and strength I could not have continued to persevere. I did not choose or want that role in life, but it was the path God had assigned to me. I just wanted to be a normal couple. When people would say such things it not only sometimes made me feel guilty, but it also made me feel more alone in my struggles. It almost gave me the feeling that I had to live up to a certain image of strength. When people instead would say that they were praying for me I was truly blessed. Those people who gave me physical help were also a gift from God to me. The truth of the matter is that another human being is not able to possibly understand all our physical, emotional, and spiritual struggles. Only God can do that. On a later date I wrote the following words: My Lord is always advocating for me, and He fully understands everything I am experiencing. Other people may not fully understand, but my Lord does. If I could only always keep that truth in the forefront of my mind. Dear Caregiver, others will not always understand and identify with the struggles you experience. Know and rest assured, however, that the Lord identifies with your every need. He also cares about you deeply. He will supply you with the guidance, grace, and strength you need to meet the challenges of each new day. Thank You!
