Beanum reetings in the m a r v e l o u s name of Jesus our Lord and sooncoming King. The word love is used so lightly and casually without full understanding. When we use the word, let's make sure it expresses God; for God is love! The Bible states, Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends (John15:13). And, that we are to love one another, For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God (John. 3:16-18). Jesus said if we love Him, we will keep His commandments. 1 Peter 1:21, states, Seeing we have purified our soul in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren. God is love, so let's...see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently: Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever (1 Peter 1:22-23). To love as Christ desires us to, we must be born of the water and of the Spirit of God, loving our enemies, blessing them that curse us, doing good to them that hate us, and praying for them which despitefully use and persecute us. In doing so, Matthew 5:45-46 reminds us, That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust. For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same? We love God because He first loved us. If we say that we love God and hate our brethren, we lie, for he that loveth not his brother whom he has seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen? (1 John 4:20). God is love, and all who have the Spirit of God will love. Love is God's nature. Amen. Marilyn Silver Love is a Universal Language 1 John 3:1 Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not. Greetings to all in the blessed name of Jesus. Have you noticed the signs of the time? Have you realized that the love of many has waxed cold? Don t despair! There is still hope. We know the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us. God teaches us to love one another. When we trust in the hand of the Almighty God we can experience a love like no other. We can pass it on, let it flow from heart to heart and breast to breast. By showing forth His love, others will be able to witness who God is - through the lives of His children. God s love is universal/everywhere. His love is extended toward all of us. He loves the unlovable - you and me. He loved us when we didn t love ourselves. While we were yet sinners Christ died for us. What a Temple Elders Speak... LOVE! Words can not describe it. It s good to take a quiet moment and reminisce on the awesome love of God. Oh, to be loved by our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! He is the one who created the heavens and the earth and He took the time to love a wretch like me. There is none like Him. Don t be down or dismayed when you look at society and see the enemy coming in like a flood. You can repeat these words in your spirit, God s love LIFTED ME. When nothing else could help, God s love LIFTED me. Our GOD is LOVE. Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us (1 John 3:1). Let the love of God reign in you. Love WINS. Stay in the fight! God Is Still In Control By: Elder Robert Brice, Sr. God bless you all readers. It's once again we greet you in the name of the Lord and Savior of us all. As we are about to embark upon another year and new experiences we are encouraged and confident in saying, our God is still in control of everything. Although we're about to experience a new presidency, a new congress and a new leadership in this country we must continue to trust the God who has blessed and kept this country over 300 years. It's no time to fold and distrust God because of the things we see and experience around us. When we look back in history and see the things that God has brought this country and this world through, we can recognize that it was by God's hand that we have survived wars, racism, poverty, hatred and natural catastrophes. I would like to close in saying, let us not worry ourselves over the new leadership, global warming, racism, poverty, terrorism, and etc. Always keep this one thing in mind, that the same God who created this beautiful world and all that dwell therein is the same God who still controls everything. 3 Temple Men Speak... I consider myself a pretty low -key, easy-going individual. But my spirit has been vexed since the start of this New Year, with the culmination being (as of this writing) Kim Burrell s un-invitation of Gospel honors at BMI s annual Trailblazer of Gospel Music ceremony. How can a Gospel singer be uninvited to a Gospel Awards show for believing and standing on the Gospel? Men and women of God, we must WAKE UP and see what the enemy of our souls is doing. He has mesmerized and hypnotized many of our eyes, like a cunning magician using sleight of hand, getting us to focus all of our attention on the shiny object in one hand, while he steals, kills, and destroys with the other. The world wants the Music but not the Gospel in the music. And although we shouldn t be surprised, to see what is unfolding before our very eyes is nothing short of horrifying. What is most disturbing is the silence of those whom we have counted as naming the name of Christ or even worse, going so far as to blame Burrell for her statements. Moreover, many of those same individuals, blinded by a color, and a willful blindness to the truth of God s Word, fawn over a man who has done more to unleash this spirit across the land than any other individual in recent modern history, condemning the people of God (both figuratively and literally) and aggressively attempting to secularize the nation at every turn. What s going on!? I declare unto the church as Joshua declared unto Israel, Fear the Lord, and serve Him in sincerity and truth. And if it seems evil unto you to serve the Lord, choose you this day whom ye will serve (Joshua 24:14-15). The day of reckoning is here, where you will need to decide if you are on the Lord s side. As Elder Williams preached on New Year s Eve, the devil is not playing with any of us. He is seeking to destroy each of us by any means necessary, whether that is through our job, livelihood, family, or friends, he wants to destroy our souls. As Elder Brice declared on that same evening, Christmas P lay Childr en & Adult P res entations On Sunday, December 11th, Temple of Deliverance and the Drama Department sponsored a Christmas dinner and Christmas plays. The dinner was delicious. Many thanks to Mother Joyce Rock for helping to coordinate this event and to all who cooked and prepared such a wonderful meal. After dinner, everyone was invited to the sanctuary to witness a soul-stirring Christmas enactment of the birth of Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. given by the children. entitled, Simply Christmas. Thanks to Sisters Alexis Jackson and Camille Jones for being instrumental in assisting with the youth for this event. The 2016 Christmas Production followed, entitled Endow Me. God blessed and inspired the hearts and minds of the onlookers. Thanks to each and everyone who prayed, attended and supported in any way. Special thanks to our writer/producer Sister Sierra Silver, Drama Ministry, President, to all the gifted characters, the live band (conducted by Deacon Titus Smith), our faithful Audio/Visual Department and the hardworking backstage helpers. As we continue into this New Year, we must be sanctified through the truth of God s Word. As Pastor often says, let s let the Word speak: Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world (I John 2:15). If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you (John 15:19). We must pray, as Jesus did for his disciples, that we not be taken out of the world, but that we be kept from evil (John 17:15). Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day. (Ephesians 6:10-13). 5 Temple Women Speak... Be Strong Reprint - Written by: Sister Phyllis Brice (August 6, 2006) We often hear people encouraging us to Be Strong in the Lord. What are they really saying to us? Are they telling us to become like a rock and when difficult situations arise, don t cry, don t be human - be Superhuman? No, they are not! Being strong in the Lord means that when troubles and trials come knocking at our doors, we must not allow theses things to come in and overtake us. We must not try to take on the situation and tackle it by ourselves, but we must rest in the Lord, looking at what He has already worked out in our lives. We must put our trust in Him and listen to His guidance and DO what He says. We must be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might (Ephesians 6:10). Just remember He is our ROCK (Psalm 18:2). Saturday, Dec. 31st Watch Night & Sunday, January 1st Early Morning services followed by our New Year s Early Morning Breakfast 2016 was a blessed year! The Temple of Deliverance family and friends gathered on Dec. 31st to celebrate and reminisce the old as we appreciate and welcome in the new year. The service was blessed and anointed with Elder Jason Lewis as our inspirational Master of Ceremony. Testimonies, Words from the Elders, Songs of Praise and Solos were offered unto the Lord. A Year in Review was orchestrated and presented by Sister Sierra Silver of the Audio/Visual Department. As we came out of the Watch Night Service we went into our Early Morning 1st Sunday of 2017 Worship Service. Pastor Beanum spoke life to us through words of a sermonette titled, The New Has Come - The Old Has Gone scriptural text was taken from II Corinthians 5: God has been and is still with us all throughout our years. We continue to welcome the Spirit of the Lord into our hearts, families, homes, jobs, schools, relationships and life even the more - as we see the day of the Lord approaching. Following the service, our Brothers served a delicious breakfast for the Sisters and all who attended. Thank you, Brothers and Elder Robert Brice (President of the Brother s Club) for your labor of love. We appreciate each of you (cooks, servers, helpers, cleaning crew) even our young brothers worked diligently to serve all in attendance. May God s love continue to bless and direct the Temple of Deliverance Family as we seek the face of God in all that we do. Peace and Blessings be with you. Thank God for such a beautiful celebration in honor of our Nurses Department, on November 27th. The nurses were arrayed in white uniforms as they marched into the sanctuary. The power of God was with us in the service as we worshiped in the beauty of holiness. Our trainer, Sister Malinda Brooks, gave inspiring words of encouragement that resonates with us today. 8 TEMPLE YOUTH SPEAK IS JESUS YOUR VALENTINE? February is the shortest month of the year. It's Black History Month and Valentine's Day occurs. Everyone knows Valentine's Day is when people express love toward others. They give flowers and cards and candy. But, what do we give Jesus? Jesus showed the most love to all of us. He died on the cross for our sins because He loved us. He gives us life, health, strength, and His Spirit. And He does this every day. We are His Valentine; so why not make Him our Valentine - all the time? 1 John 4:10 states, Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins. 9 O R N E R A R E G I V E R S Caregivers of Strength As a caregiver, it is very important that you eat right, exercise when you can, and in general do all you can to maintain your good health. Dear caregiver, you can not be of comfort and help to your loved one for whom you are caring if you do not do all you can to stay healthy yourself. Even more important than your physical health is your emotional and spiritual health. Family care-giving can be emotionally and spiritually draining. That is why it is so important that you maintain your spiritual health through daily prayer and reading the Word of God. If this means you have to get up in the morning before your loved one, that is what you need to do. It is essential to your well-being and strength. Also throughout the day constantly be aware of and tune into the presence of God right beside you. Caregivers of strength know that they are fallible human beings. They know they become impatient at times. They often feel like they are walking in the dark. They often feel as if their whole world could fall apart at any moment. They also know, however, that the Lord will catch them and their loved ones when they fall. Caregivers have no confidence in their own strength, but they avail themselves of the Lord's grace and strength. Caregivers of strength do not continually look for their own advantage. They often sacrifice their own best interests for the best interests of the loved one for whom they are caring. They also know that they do not have enough strength in caregivers-of-strength.html -Posted by Sharon themselves for the care-giving journey they are on. They further know with certainty, however, that through the care-giving journey they will become strong by God's grace. Dear Christian caregiver, this is most likely the most difficult journey you have ever been on. Trust in the Lord's strength. Rest in Him, and you will be a caregiver of strength! Thank You!
