2 Don t grieve for me, for now I m free I m following the path God laid for me I took his hand when I heard Him call I turned my back and left it all. I could not stay another day. To laugh, to love, to work or play. Tasks left undone must stay that way, I found that peace at the close of day. If my parting has left a void, Then fill it up with remembered joy. A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss, Oh, yes these things I too will miss. Be not burdened with times of sorrow, I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow. My life s been full, I savored much. Good friends, good times, a loved one s touch. Perhaps my time seemed all too brief, Don t lengthen it now with undue grief. Lift up your heart and share with me, God wanted me now, He set me free!

3 Quadir Cedric Edney was born on October 2, 1981 at Monmouth Medical Center in Long Branch, New Jersey to the late Karen Edney and Cedric Key. Quadir departed this life on May 8, 2018 at the young age of 36 at University Hospital in Newark, New Jersey. Raised on High Street in Newark by his grandmother, the late Geraldine Edney, Quadir was educated through the Newark Public Schools. Through the guidance of his grandmother and second mother, Venus Meadows, he overcame many obstacles. He was employed for several years by The Limited Brands at Short Hills Mall in Short Hills, New Jersey where he met his wife, La Shaun Edney in Quadir had a love for fast cars and the open road. He later obtained his Class A commercial driver s license with several endorsements. He took over the road as a Car Hauler for Jack Cooper Transport and dedicated several years to the company before starting his own business, Q s Auto Transport, LLC. Quadir had a passion for the car hauling profession and often inspired others to obtain their commercial driver s license. He accomplished his goals and was living his dream. Quadir was a devoted member of Jesus Deliverance Tabernacle located in Newark, New Jersey for over eight years. He was an active member, minister, and member of the Financial Trustee Board. Quadir was a beloved husband and amazing father. He worked hard during the week and dedicated every weekend to his two best friends, his boys. He was known for his bright smile and contagious laugh. Little to nothing seemed to upset him and he would always be quick to tell someone, Don t worry, God Got This! Quadir leaves behind his loving wife, (La Shaun Edney); his sons (the late Nafees Edney, Quadir Edney Jr. (10), and Amir Edney (2)); his mother (Venus Meadows); his brothers (Kevin Griffin, Rasheed Edney, late Nafees Edney, Dawu Richardson, Slick and Boody); his sisters (Tyheria Key and Venus Teah); his nephews (Davian Edney and Mahdi Edney); his nieces (Sydiah Edney, Fathiya Parrish and Farrah Edney); his aunts (Carolyn Edney and Charlene Muhammad); his uncle (Abdul Rahman Muhammad) and a host of cousins, extended family and close friends.
