Beanum, Jr. Christ Our Savior reetings in the wonderful name of Jesus Christ, our Savior and sooncoming King. For it's in Him we move and have our being, and all praise and glory go to him. We are so thankful for the revelation of the deity of Christ. God is one Being made up of three distinct Persons who exist in co-equal essence and co-eternal communion as Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Everything therefore that can be said of the Father and of the Holy Spirit can be said of the Son; He is the creator (John 1:1-3; Col.1:1; Rev. 4:11). And He is the upholder and sustainer of all things (Col.1:17) even as the Father and the Holy Spirit. Any view/ faith which states that there is only one person in the Godhead proves inadequate. Such a view presents a god who for the first time would have known a true subject-object relationship. The deity of Jesus Christ is of the greatest for our salvation. Only an infinite person could offer an infinite sacrifice sufficient to satisfy God's divine justice to atone for the sins of all who would believe. While sin started with a single act of disobedience, such as of a forest fire starts with a single spark, it spread to all mankind; and it's atonement-after sin had enveloped all of nature and of mankind-required not merely the act of man, but of the Almighty in his own omnipotent Son. We believe in one God the Father almighty, maker of all things visible and invisible, one Lord Jesus Christ the Son of God, the only begotten of the Father, the substance (ousias) of the Father, God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, of one substance (homoousion) with the Father, through whom all things were made, that are in heaven and that are on earth, for our salvation, came down and was made flesh, suffered, rose again the third day, ascended into heaven, and will come to judge the living and the dead. Pray we will be ready to welcome Him. Amen. 2 A Word from Our Editor Free To Serve God has called you to freedom. What an amazing gift and a great responsibility. What you do with your freedom can affect everyone around you for good or for bad. God did not give you freedom as an excuse to do whatever you want; or to live selfishly; or to live sinfully without regard for others. The strange thing is, He gave you freedom so that you might choose to become a servant. God wants us all to make the choice to reject our sinful nature, our selfish desires, our ego, our flesh and embrace one another with love. Instead of striving to fill our emptiness with things of this world, we give freely to others the fullness given to us by God. We were called to be free. Only do not use your liberty as an opportunity for the flesh. But through love serve one another (Galatians 5:13). God has made us free. FREE TO SERVE! A Word From Our Elders Don t Look Back, Keep it Moving Submitted by: Sister Marilyn Silver Now I say, if the Lord has set you free why should you be bound? Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage (Galatian 5:1). As we continue to cherish the life that God has given us; let us press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus (Philippians 3:14). Happy Freedom Day! Appreciate your God-given freedom and choose to live for Christ every day! God bless you always. Elder Jason Lewis Luke 9:62 declares And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God. When we look back it hinders forward progress. Sometimes it brings on depression, a feeling of hopelessness, defeat, even death. As Lot and his wife were fleeing Sodom and Gomorrah his wife turned to look back at the destruction of the evil and sinful city she had grown to love. God turned her into a pillar of salt and she died there. Don t stop, keep it moving. We spend our time looking back at sins that God has already forgiven. 1 John 1:7-9 says But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Christ cleanseth us from all sin. If we have asked God for forgiveness and we are sincere in our heart All of our sins (BIG, Medium and small) are forgiven. So don t stay there. Keep it moving! Don t look back and dwell on defeats that are currently holding you down, Don t look back at the past and think it s better than where you are now (Ecclesiastes 7:10). Don t look back at old issues or Don t Look Back, Keep It Moving! conflicts that make you bitter. And don t look back at old Victories that may cause you to think you have already arrived. Philippians 3:13-14 says, Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forward unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. 3 Temple Men Speak Praise the Lord! And Happy 4th of July. Although we celebrate America s birthday, the day America declared its independence, as we look and see what is happening to America, our hearts cry out for our country. These are the last days, and the Lord is soon to come. 2 Timothy chapter 3 warns us of this: For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good We see this chapter of scripture being fulfilled every day in our nation and in our world. Our President continues to embolden the homosexual agenda. Laws in all states defining the biblical definition of marriage have all been struck down by our Courts. Congressmen and Corporate America continue to put pressure on those that speak up for Christian beliefs, by either firing them or, for example, using the IRS as a weapon to attack them. It is far from peace in the Middle East. Matthew 24:6, states, And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. People of faith are getting marginalized, ostracized, pushed aside, and persecuted TODAY. This is happening now. We need to awaken out of our sleep and open our eyes to the world around us. We need to save ourselves from this Temple Women Speak I Will Bless the Lord" When I think of the goodness of Jesus and all that He's done for me, my soul cries out Hallelujah! Thank God for saving me! Psalm 34:1 says, I will bless the LORD at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth. -Junior Deacon Titus Smith untoward generation. Nevertheless, even though we see all of these things unfolding, Jesus says in John 16:33,..but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world. What hope it is to know that there is nothing out of control because Jesus is in control! As you enjoy your holiday, pray for this nation that we may get back to our roots; being one nation, under God. Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places (Ephesians 6: 10-12). Please pray my added strength in the Lord. Over 73 years God has been good to me. I've had surgery and God has brought me through. When I travel down the highway, God has protected me. Author: Charles Kingsley Temple Youth Speak Safe in the Arms of Jesus Periodically, during the year, my office goes through a safety and security inspection. The monitoring equipment and security measures that are in place are tested to ensure they are in proper working condition. If any of the equipment fails a test, maintenance providers have to make repairs and adjustments. Man puts monitoring devices in place such as cameras, security alarms, and armed guards to try to protect people, places, and things. However, man is not able to be in every place, at all times, guarding and protecting these things. People and devices have limited life span and can break at any time. I am so glad to know that Jesus does not need any of those things to keep his people safe from harm. According to Psalm 127:1, except the Lord keep the city, the watchman waketh (watches), but in vain. Jesus is our protector and our keeper. Even with the best security money can afford, without Jesus, we are alone. When we put our trust in Jesus, we know that we are safe and secure. Proverbs 30:5 states, every word of God is pure: He is a shield unto By: Sis. April Sims them that put their trust in him. His eyes and ears are open to our every cry. Even in the midst of our storms, he watches over us with his loving care and protection. We can rest assured that he keeps us safe in his arms. There are so many testimonies of how the Lord delivered from accidents, hurt, harm and dangers. Some of us face daily travelling dangers. Some of us work in very dangerous professions where we risk our lives daily. It is a blessing to know, that even in the midst of all of these things we face, we have protection and safety in the arms of Jesus. Psalm 121:2 states, My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth. He will not suffer thy foot to be moved; he that keepeth thee will not slumber. Behold, he that keepeth Israel, shall neither slumber nor sleep. The Lord is thy keeper. Man s ability to keep us safe and secure is limited. We can have complete confidence in the ability of our Lord to keep us through all dangers seen and unseen. We can put all of our trust in him and know that we are Safe in the Arms of Jesus. 7 Pastoral Fellowship June 7th & 8th I NEVER LOST MY PRAISE! Elder Ronald Demery Souvenir Fan Bishop Thurman Hargrove Clergies slain in the Spirit Fellowship Hall The 45th Pastoral Celebration was a two-day event in honor of our Pastor Elder Lynn Beanum and our Church Mother Ruby Beanum. God has blessed us to have these two dedicated and spirit-filled servants as our examples. Pastor Beanum has a heart for the people, not only at our local assembly but wherever he sees the need. Mother Beanum, a prayer warrior, is gifted in encouraging the saints to keep the faith. They are holding on to their PRAISE! The Celebration was truly blessed by the Lord. On Saturday June 7th, the event began as a Fellowship Dinner with Pastor Ronald Demery, the saints from Bible Way Temple, Washington DC and local visiting guests. Pastor Demery and his congregation showed their love as they joyfully arrived traveling with 2 buses and other vehicles to worship with us. Following the dinner we gathered in the sanctuary to offer praise and worship to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for the awesome things He has done and continues to do throughout the years. The Spirit of the Lord moved in the house. The anointing moved Pastor Beanum, Bishop James Silver and other clergies to be slain on their faces in prayer while Pastor Demery allowed God to use him to speak to us. The scripture text was taken from 1 Samuel 17: The sermon title was Don t Forget Your Testimony! Pastor Demery reminded us that the anointing sets us apart. Believing that God would hear our cry we gathered around the altar for a closing prayer and God was in the midst of the praises of His people. We went out rejoicing in the God of our Salvation! Sunday June 8th, was the official Pastoral Fellowship Day. Our guest speaker Bishop Thurman Hargrove from Refuge Temple COOJC, Alberta VA brought forth a soul searching message. The sermon text was taken from Isaiah 10:27, and the message text was Gifting or Anointing? Bishop Hargrove reminded us that the anointing makes the difference. Although, some may have gifts, but it is the anointing that destroys the yoke. God blessed the fellowship with His grace and His mercies. Following the morning worship we gathered in the dining hall to celebrate 45 years of labor sacrificed by our Pastor and Church Mother. We are asking that you continue to pray for them that they continue to fight the good fight of faith and lay hold on eternal life. May God enrich their hearts with a double portion of his grace and mercy as they enter into another year. Thanks to the many of you who supported, labored, prayed, shared greetings, blessings, gifts and love on this 45th Pastoral Celebration. 9 Weeping -Excerpts of Article from: You wake up from a restless sleep. Your mind goes to the loved one you are caring for. You don t focus on any particular issue. You just think about their suffering and difficulties. Feelings of love surge for your loved one. Then your feelings zero in on the hurt you feel for them. You begin weeping quietly. You remember the better times the two of you experienced. And now you are sad for them and yourself for the times that are left behind. This is not the way you wanted their life to be. Your weeping lingers as you move on to others in your family and your hopes and dreams for them. Sadness is growing as the tears quietly stream down your face. It is going to be one of those nights to let our feelings come out in a slow cry. Jeremiah is known as the weeping prophet. God gave him a vision of Judah s future. It wasn t good. Within the huge collection of prophetic oracles that make up the fifty-two chapters of Jeremiah's witness, one finds more than tears, more than frank admissions of pain, and more than convictions about the evils of Judah. One also finds startling promises of hope, hope found not merely in the possibility of human repentance, but grounded squarely in the amazing grace of God. Such a passage is 31: In this world we have troubles. Even as Jeremiah was weeping for Israel and Judah, his tears turned to hope that God would make all things new. Jesus is known as our Savior, but Jesus also shows his empathy and compassion through His tears. In John 11 Mary and Martha send for Jesus because Lazarus is very sick. Lazarus dies before Jesus arrives and Mary and Martha are in mourning, surrounded by their Jewish friends. It was when Jesus saw Mary weeping, and all the Jews who had come along side her also weeping, that Jesus shed his tears. He saw the pain being felt by the group. It affected Jesus deeply and he wept. (Jn 11:35) It is okay to weep for someone you love. It is not the loss, but the losing that hurts. The losing of good times, dreams, conversations and autonomy. So we let the feelings flow through us as we slowly and quietly weep our tears so as not to disturb others. Finally, we fall back to sleep as the good thoughts and memories of past times start to enter our mind. Tomorrow will be another day. We need our rest. The bitter/sweet taste of tears has given us some release. The tears slowly dry. Somehow, we are tired again and ready for sleep. And the night passes. Did God just give our feelings a cleansing? Did we experience hurt and love at the same time? Was God trying to share a word with us? Only a moment, but his favor last a lifetime; weeping may remain for a night, but rejoicing comes in the morning (Ps. 30:4-5 ).
