Sharing... Can mean sharing a sense of peace and contentment in uncertain economic times. Sharing...Through Our Time, Talents, & Treasure Our capital campaign pledges will be completed by the end of this year. Because of this we will have saved hundreds of thousands of dollars in interest over the course of our loan. However, we will still have mortgage payments of $9860 per month; less than we have been paying, but still a significant amount! Our Board of Stewardship is prayerfully working on a plan to cover this. Watch for more details. PASTOR HEINING AND PASTOR SETTLE will be attending the District Pastors Conference in Mankato on Monday and Tuesday. MICHAEL HARVEY AND APRIL BECKMAN will be attending the Lutheran Educators Conference on Thursday and Friday.

4 Congregational Planning Retreat Background: A committee of nine members has been meeting for almost two years, gathering information on our congregation and considering where the Lord might be leading us in the future. Based upon their work and feedback from the congregation we have already adopted a mission statement: by the Holy Spirit we strive to live out, lift up, and share our faith in Jesus Christ - And also a vision statement: Next Step: The purpose of this retreat is to review what has been done, and to suggest goals for the future; that are consistent with our mission statement, vision statement, and core values. The goals suggested by those at the retreat will then be refined and presented to the congregation for adoption at our annual meeting in January.

8 NURSES HEALTH TIP - Can You Change Your? There s a good chance you will develop at least a few age spots at some point, especially if you are fair-skinned. These light brown to dark patches often appear on the face, neck, hands, forearms, and upper torso. They are flat with well-defined borders and can grow to an inch in diameter, sometimes combining with other spots so they look even larger. Many people seem to have a genetic predisposition, but a major factor in their development is cumulative exposure to the sun s ultraviolet light, which is why age spots tend to increase in number and size as you get older. Age spots are painless and harmless, but it s a good idea to get checked by a doctor (usually a dermatologist) to be sure they are not something more serious, especially if they change color, size, or shape. Age spots are a sign of sun damage and thus increased skin cancer risk so they should encourage you to get professional skin exams. To prevent age spots from developing in the first place, limit sun exposure and, when you are outside, wear protective clothing and apply sunscreen (SPF 15 or higher) liberally and frequently. Don t forget the back of your hands and your neck. Source: UC Berkeley Wellness letter; provided by Olmsted County Public Health Services FAITHFULLY FIT FOREVER is an exercise group that meets for 40 minutes at 10:30 am on Tuesday mornings. The merits of exercise -- from prevention of chronic illness to improving your mood and self esteem -- are hard to ignore. Regardless of age, sex, or physical ability the benefits can be yours! Wear comfortable clothing and supportive shoes. Remember that the hardest part of exercise is getting started! Call Jan Rump ( ) for more information. Sharing Their Talents Today Message...
