2 PIZZA RANCH FUNDRAISER this Tuesday, September 27. Come join us for some good food, fellowship and help support our youth. All tips and 10% of the sales that evening benefit Redeemer youth projects. DAILY DEVOTIONALS are now available in the narthex for October - December. We offer two Lutheran options: 1.) Portals of Prayer - in the traditional style 2.) Living the Gospel Life - which offers a slightly more missional and contemporary feel. NEW MEMBER RECEPTION will be Sunday, October 23. We already have several who are planning to join that day. Please contact Pastor Heining by Monday, October 10, if you would like to join. CELEBRATING GOD S GRACE is a class for non-lutherans who might like to find out more about the Lutheran Church -- with no obligation. It is also for long-time Lutherans who might like to review the basics of their faith. The next class will begin on Sunday, November 6 and continue for 10-weeks. LUTHERAN WITNESS for September is now available in the narthex! Take a copy today! OPPORTUNITY - We need an additional person to record the services and make copies one Sunday a month at the 8 am service. If you might be willing to serve in this way, please contact Matt Nitz ( ) or April Beckman ( ). Christmas Around The World B.R.I.G.H.T. Night Event The theme this year is Christmas Around The World. We will be sharing with students different traditions, crafts, customs, and stories from different ethnic groups all around the world. To make this event really special -- we need your help! Round up your family members and volunteer to share an hour of your time to share traditions, or make a special food, lead a craft activity, or teach and sing a song in a different language! Use your imagination -- the opportunities are endless! If you are not available to teach or lead an activity maybe you would like to share a tradition or recipe that is special for your family. These ideas can be shared by leaving them in the box on the table set up for B.R.I.G.H.T. night. A special thank you to the two families that have already signed up for Germany and Sweden. Has anyone been to Africa, Israel, or China? We would love to hear from you! If you have any questions or would like to volunteer, please contact Betty Brand at Thanks for investing your time to broaden the lives of our youth! 2 Week of

Group assignments, with instructions, will be mailed at the beginning of October. A sign-up sheet is located in the narthex. Questions? Contact Beth or Will Mundell at wcmundell@att.net or Bob Keith at or BKDivers@aol.com. A small brass plaque will be created for each person with their name, branch of service, and years of service (or conflict). That we might know how large the board should be, it is essential that this information be turned in as soon as possible. Forms are available in the narthex. Please return them to the church office or place in the basket in the narthex. 4 Week of

5 Faithfully Fit Forever (FFF) Leadership class will be held at Bethel Lutheran Church on October 13 and 14. Faithfully Fit Forever is a health promotion program that focuses on body, mind, and spirit while initiating and reinforcing positive health behaviors of adults in faith communities. If you are interested in attending, please contact Jan Dicke ( ), or the church office ( ) for more information. A registration sheet is required to attend the program. The Health Cabinet will reimburse you for attending the program. Currently Redeemer is offering FFF program on Tuesday mornings at 10:30 AM in room L-3. Additional information can be obtained from cindy.peterson@sanfordhealth.org. 5 KEYS FOR THE CARE GIVER 1. Applaud your courage in handling day to day challenges. 2. Be in God s Word for hope and encouragement to support you throughout each day. 3. Caring for yourself is vital to ensure that you can continue your daily care for your loved one. 4. Don t be afraid to ask for help and accept it when offered. 5. Eliminate thinking too far ahead; take one day at a time. (Source: Caring Hearts Ministry) Flu Shots Available! I m sure you have seen the signs all over Rochester encouraging you to get your flu shot. Be aware that flu shots obtained too early will lose their effectiveness in the Spring. Redeemer will host a flu shot clinic on October 23 from 8:30 to 10:30 am in the Fellowship Hall. Watch for the sign-up! File of Life The File of Life saved a lot of time when my husband had his heart attack! This is a quote from a member who had a completed File of Life on their refrigerator! The File of Life is a personal medical home file which is prepared for emergency first responders. The File of Life means faster help for citizens in emergencies. The File of Life has the medical history and medications the patient is on so treatment can begin at once. The File of Life has a magnet which can be attached to the refrigerator for quick access. It can be taken when going to the doctor. A smaller packet is also included to keep in your wallet for emergencies. File of Life packets are available in the narthex. The information should be checked every 6 months to be certain current information is available. We are a Stephen Ministry Congrega on! 5 Week of
