If you are visiting us for the first time, please fill out a "Visitors Welcome Card" located in the pew racks and place it in the plate during the offering. Please honour us by signing our guest book located at the main entrance to the church. If you would like to join St. Matthew, please speak with our pastor. HOLY COMMUNION: By celebrating Holy Communion, I give witness that I believe that Jesus Christ is my Saviour and Lord. I have examined my life in the light of God's Word, and have confessed my sinfulness to God. I believe that Christ's body and blood are truly present in, with and under the bread and wine. I believe that in this sacrament God gives me the forgiveness of my sins. I believe that God the Holy Spirit strengthens my faith and renews my life and I resolve, in the power of the Holy Spirit, to amend my sinful ways. Before communing here for the first time, please introduce yourself to the pastor or to an usher first. Please announce your participation today by filling out a registration card and handing it to an usher as you come forward. If you have difficulty coming up the steps for communion, remain seated in the front pew and the pastor will come to you. If you are a visitor and don t meet our requirement, you are still invited to come forward and receive a blessing. As you stand at the altar, please cross your arms over your chest to signal that you are not taking the communion but still desire to be blessed. You are welcome to the altar either way! 3 our 7 th Annual Oktoberfest and to celebrate Pastor s 10 th Anniversary at St. Matthew. It will take place on Saturday, October 27 th, 2018 at 4 pm in the church basement. There are 100 tickets available. Tickets are $7.00 per person. Included in the tickets are: bratwurst, sauerkraut, 1 nonalcoholic beverage, juice, coffee, tea. We would very much appreciate if you could bring a side dish (potato, spätzle), salad or dessert to share with your fellow members. Tickets are sold after each service on Sundays. All are welcome!! PPC MEETING: The next PPC meeting will be on Thursday, October 17 th, 2018 at 7 pm, in the parish hall. READING SERVICE: On Sunday, October 21 st, 2018 we will have a reading service, no communion. Pastor is away at the ABC District Convention in Edmonton. SUDANESE CHOIR: The South Sudanese Nuer Choir from Grace Lutheran Church Calgary will be singing at our joint service on All Saints Sunday, November 4. Attention: The joint service on Nov 4 starts at 10 a.m. followed by a sandwich potluck and our bi-annual congregational meeting. Please welcome the choir in our fellowship! We are a bi-lingual congregation serving people in the English and German languages. St. Matthew has been at its present location since FAMILY ROOM This room is located in our parish hall and is available to families with children who need special attention during the worship service (crying, changing, feeding etc.).
