Weekend Sacristan Needed We are looking for a retired adult to be a sacristan for special masses such as weddings, wedding anniversaries and private baptisms. They take place on Saturday or Sunday. Position would entail mainly setting up for the Mass or Baptism and being in the sacristy if needed. It would be for 2-3 hours each time and is a paid position. Please call rectory if interested. EXPOSITION OF THE BLESSED SACRAMENT On Friday, June 7, 2013 as part of the Year of Faith we will have Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament from 2PM 8PM concluding with Benediction. There is a sign-up sheet in the vestibule of the Church. A permanent Memorial Plaque will be placed beneath the statue. Twenty names will be listed. The donation for this special memorial is $1, per name. Masses Offered in Rome As many of you know, Father John P. Cush is currently working on his doctorate degree in Rome. The priests that live and study in Rome rely on the people back home to assist them financially by having Masses offered in Rome and celebrated by the particular priest. Over the last year our parish has been able to send over Mass intentions for Father Cush to celebrate in Rome. As we move toward a new academic year we are in need of more intentions to send to him in the fall. Please consider having a Mass celebrated by Father Cush in Rome. The donation is $15.00 and the information can be mailed to Father Jim at the rectory. He will then forward the intentions to Father Cush at the end of the summer. Thank you for your consideration. You decide the amount of your contributions by completing a form on the Faith direct website and the way they will be paid (either by an electronic transfer or a credit card; credit card companies charge a fee to HN while ACH transactions are free). For you: 1. It is an opportunity to balance your budget by planning contributions along with your household expenses; 2. It saves the time of writing checks each week and preparing an envelope with cash or check, and once you are on Faith Direct, payments are automatic (unless you withdraw from the program) so you don t have to worry; 3. Faith Direct provides you with an accurate tax statement each year; 4. Another change to go green in a positive way. For Holy Name: the parish receives contributions even when you don t make it to Holy Name for Mass. Holy Name is charged a fixed fee by FD for this service. Our cost of doing business with them on a per individual basis is lower if more parishioners participate. With the recent church restoration campaign, more parishioners have started to use Faith Direct. We encourage those individuals to use the Faith Direct System not only for campaign pledges but also for the weekly offertory. Below is an illustration: Based on a budget a parishioner has been donating about $1,000 per year using envelopes and makes the following selections on the FD site. The parishioner decides on an electronic transfer out of a checking account. $10.00/week offertory $ Christ/Easter Collections $ Renovation Repairs $15/month $ special collections identified on form $ Once completed the amounts designated will be processed on the 4 th of each month (12 transfers/year). The parishioner receives a notification before the monthly transfer so that the money may be in the checking account and receives acknowledgement cards which may be placed in the church basket. This program is efficient and works smoothly please consider it! Thank you.
