1 BLESSED CHRISTMAS TO ALL! With these words we blessed our Nativity Scene: God of every nation and people, from the very beginning of creation you have made manifest your love: when our need for a Savior was great you sent your Son to be born of the Virgin Mary. To our lives He brings joy and peace, justice, mercy, and love. Lord, bless all who look upon this manger; may it remind us of the humble birth of Jesus, and raise up our thoughts to him, who is God-with-us and Savior of all, and who lives and reigns for ever and ever. Amen. May you and your families rejoice in the gifts of our Savior. May the revealed love of the Father fill your lives. May Christ dwell with your families. Since I cannot visit every home I invite you and your family to pray this prayer and know that I will pray this intention for all: Lord God of heaven and earth, you revealed your only-begotten Son to every nation by the guidance of a star. Bless this house and all who inhabit it. Fill them with the light of Christ that their concern for others may reflect your love. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen. CHRISTMAS DECORATIONS: The incarnation, God becoming man, the birth of our Savior is such a blessed event that we have spent four weeks (Advent) preparing for this that we will now spend several days (until January 9 th ) celebrating what our God is doing for us. Are you Catholic? I encourage you to witness to your faith by continuing to light your Christmas decorations and wishing one another a Merry Christmas each day through the celebration of the Baptism of our Lord on January 9 th. CHRISTMAS GRATITUDE: Fr. Mark and I thank you for your many acts of kindness shown to us during this blessed season of Advent and Christmas. Your gifts, Christmas cards, prayers, cookies and candies, and participation at Mass are truly appreciated. January 14 - Silver Ring Thing" in Pittsburgh, PA at Seton LaSalle High School. This night is a high-energy, multimedia presentation on love, purity, chastity and why waiting until marriage is God's perfect plan. The cost for this event is $8 if you turn in money by January 1. January 16 - First Anchor night of the new year. 3 West End Adoration Chapel WEST END ADORATION CHAPEL We will close the chapel on Friday, December 24 th at 9:00 a.m. and open the chapel at 9:00 a.m. on December 27 th. During this time period we encourage everyone to keep Christ at the center of Christmas celebrations. Share the Lord with your families and encourage them to find His presence in their midst. As you prepare for the New Year and many make resolutions to come closer to Christ, please consider volunteering to spend one hour each week in adoration of our Lord. Be still with him in prayer. Fr. Nau would like to have 2 or 3 adorers praying every hour 24/7. Samaritan House 1/2 price Sale. The Tuesday after Christmas, Dec 28th, everything in the store will be 1/2 price. Proceeds will go towards meat for the Food Bank freezer. The diocesan offices will be closed and they have given permission for our customers to use their parking on that day. Also, if you don t have a particular date we have several other openings that can be filled with your requests. At various times we publish a list of intentions for which Msgr. Cornelius and now Fr. Magary offer specific Mass intentions. We need several Mass intentions for them to offer at the Masses in which they concelebrate in our parish community. Praying for the deceased is a holy and righteous act. We continue to pray for our loved ones as we seek their prayers in our lives. Praying for special needs is also a part of our Catholic Tradition.
