We have a rich immigrant ancestry and a diverse ethnic heritage where Christian charity prevails. We are committed to the Eucharist, the Good News of Jesus Christ and all teachings of the Catholic Church. We strive to minister to the needs of those we encounter on a daily basis by centering ourselves in worship, participating in the sacramental life of the Church, and performing works of mercy. We seek to build-up the Kingdom of God through stewardship and service under the guidance of our patroness, Mary, the Mother of God.

2 Page Two Seven Dolors Church Dear Seven Dolors Parishioners, Christ the King Are you a king?, Pilate asked Jesus. His answer was My Kingdom is not of this world. There he stood before Pilate, the Lord God Almighty, having taken on humanity. He had come in great humility and as a servant. With all due respect to the kings of this world, Jesus represented something totally different. He represented a message from Heaven. Good News. For God so loved the world that He gave his only begotten Son, so that all who believe in Him might have eternal life. Today we embrace this Good News and try to let it sink in. Sometimes in life we find ourselves in a low place. That s not easy, but we are not alone. Jesus, our King, is with us. We can repeat the cry of the Spanish and Mexican martyrs who cried out: VIVA CRISTO REY - LONG LIVE CHRIST THE KING. PS: Fr. Richard, O.S.B. Classes will resume Monday, December 3, at 6:15 PM-7:30 PM in the social hall. Novena to Our Lady The parish prays a continuous novena to Our Lady of Perpetual Help at 11:45 AM before the Monday 12 Noon Mass. 3 Scripture Study Scripture study will be held Friday, November 30 at 7 PM in the social hall. Lesson 3: Matthew 3-5. Youth Ministry Will meet on Saturday, December 1, at 5:45 PM in the social hall. Christian Mothers & Ladies On Sunday, December 2, will meet for: Rosary at 10 AM in the church Corporate Communion at 10:30 AM Mass On Tuesday, December 4, will meet for: Rosary at 6:30 PM in social hall Monthly meeting at 7 PM in social hall Knights of Columbus Council 3026 Will meet for their regular meeting on Thursday, December 6, at 7:30 PM in the social hall. Our Lady of Sorrows Lectors Workbooks for Year C are available in the sacristy. Please pick up your copy Mass Book The 2019 Mass Book will open Monday, December 3. Families may schedule one (1) Sunday Mass and one (1) Weekday Mass. Beginning January 1, Seven Dolors weekday Mass schedule will change to Monday at 12 Noon, with the Novena of Our Lady of Perpetual Help at 11:45 AM, and Wednesday Mass at 9 AM. The suggested offering is $10- Mass Intention. Sacrament of Anointing of the Sick and Holy Communion The sacraments of Anointing of the Sick and Holy Communion are available to those who are sick, elderly, or infirm. Please contact the parish office to arrange a visit by Fr. Richard. Sponsor of the Week! Our parish family is most appreciative of the businesses and individuals who sponsor our parish bulletin. Page Three Book of Remembrance During the month of November, all are invited to remember our loved ones who have died by writing their names in the Book of Remembrance which is located near the Eucharistic Chapel. Advent/Christmas/Epiphany Committee An Advent/Christmas/Epiphany Committee is being formed. This group will help plan and set up prayers, liturgies, works of charity, decorations and celebrating for the Advent/Christmas/Epiphany Season. Please plan to attend if you are interested in helping. There will be a meeting in the church this Sunday, November 25, after the 10:30 AM Mass. Poultry Bingo & Pie Social The Christian Mothers & Ladies want to thank all who made the Poultry Bingo & Pie Social a success! A financial report will be given in next week s bulletin. Thank you to all who donated pies and raffle items, worked the Bingo, and attended the event. Registration Deadline for World Youth Day Event in Washington, D.C. The Diocese of Greensburg is sponsoring a trip for young adults (ages 18-39) to a one-day Catholic festival at The Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C., January 26, 2019, in conjunction with World Youth Day in Panama. The event will include a livestream of Pope Francis Mass in Panama. Cost, including overnight accommodation, is $160 per person, $95 per person for double occupancy. Visit for information. For the Living & Deceased Parishioners of Seven Dolors Church CHRIST IS KING On the final Sunday of the liturgical year we celebrate the feast of Christ the King. It s easy to understand today s scriptures as events that happened long ago and far away, or predictions that will come true somewhere, some day. But they invite us to claim Christ as our King here and now. Jesus words to Pilate in the Gospel remind us that his kingdom transcends time and place. And the prophecies from Daniel and Revelation give us reason to be faithful to Christ our King right here and right now. By concluding the year with this feast we are proclaiming our faith that Jesus Christ is the one and only King over all seasons, all peoples, and all of creation. No matter what nation we belong to or what language we speak, he has made us into a kingdom (Revelation 1:6) one people united in love and peace for all eternity.
