Catholic Campaign for Human Development Collection Next weekend, November 18 & 19, we will take up a collection for the Catholic Campaign for Human Development (CCHD). The CCHD works to be a voice of hope for those on the margins of society who experience the realities of living in poverty. Your donation will help build a society where all have a voice and all know their inherent dignity. Christmas Flowers Anyone wishing to memorialize a loved one at Christmas, may do so by donating to the flower fund. An envelope is included in your packet of church envelopes. Names must be received in the parish office by Wednesday, December 13th to be included in the December 24th bulletin. Adoration Chapel The open hours for the Adoration Chapel are: Sunday 10:00am, 11:00am, 12:00pm; Monday 3:00am; Thursday 5:00pm; Friday 1:00pm. To fill an open hour, call Christy Batesville Food Pantry During November and December we see a significant increase in usage at the food pantry. Your help in providing the extra food we need is so much appreciated and we honestly couldn't do it without your generosity. St. Louis Parish is asked to donate canned fruit and fruit juices. Donation boxes are at the church exits. St. Louis 150th Anniversary Celebration Our 150th Anniversary year is quickly approaching! There are many events planned for 2018 and many opportunities to join in the preparations. If you are interested in helping on one of the following committees, please sign up in the back of church after Masses next weekend. History/Museum Alumni Event Calling All St. Louis School Grads! As a parish, we are truly blessed by our Catholic roots. Next year we will celebrate 150 years as St. Louis Parish. One of our goals for the celebration is to form the SLCS Alumni Association. Please consider becoming a member of the Alumni Association to help ensure that our parish and school are prepared for the next 150 years. More information on signing up will be coming soon. Parents are also encouraged to receive the sacrament at this time. There will be a reception following the service. Coping With Grief During the Holidays The Bereavement Ministry of St. Mary s, Greensburg, invites you to a very special program on coping with grief during the holidays. We will meet at St. Mary s on Monday, November 13th from 6:30pm 8:30pm. This program is open to the public. All are welcome. Dynamic Catholic Speaker - Dominick Albano The All Saints Parish is hosting a speaker from Dynamic Catholic- Dominick Albano. Through humor and personal testimony, Dominick will help us rediscover who we really are, and what we were really made for. Archdiocesan Tree Lighting with Archbishop Thompson You are invited on Thursday, December 7, 2017 at 6:00pm to the Catholic Center Assembly Hall, Indianapolis for an archdiocesan Christmas Tree Lighting and Prayer Service. Prepare your heart for the coming of Christ and celebrate those who have shared their own light by establishing memorial endowments in the names of loved ones. For a donation of $10 or more, you can dedicate a luminaria in memory of a loved one. Gifts will be invested in the Catholic Community Foundation to support the growth of parish, school and agency ministries. A reception will follow the service. 6 F a m i l i e s Helping Families Families Helping Families (FHF) is a group of local churches and organizations who assist children in the Batesville School District during the Christmas season. Just as the Wise Men shared their gifts with the Infant Jesus, FHF wants to allow people to share their gifts with others this Christmas season. Please look for our new FHF signs at the church entrances. How can you help? Pray Your prayers are requested for the families in our community who are struggling and find themselves in need at this time of year. We also ask for prayers for all of those who are involved in this program to make sure all children in our Batesville community have a Christmas. Gift Tags Each tag represents one child s wishes. Please purchase all items on the tag. If you are unable to find a tag that fits your level of giving, perhaps you can partner with a family member or friend. We appreciate that tags are taken, but please fulfill the wishes on the tag if you choose to take one. Please place the unwrapped gifts in a bag with the tag attached. If the gifts are too large, please duplicate the tag and attach a tag to each item. The numbers and letters on the tags are very important for matching the gift to the correct child. All gifts are due back Sunday, December 3rd. Monetary Donations If you would like to make a monetary donation, please take a special envelope from the FHF basket. Check can be written payable to St. Louis Church and specifying FHF on the check. All donations can be placed in the collection basket at church or dropped off at the parish office. There are volunteer shoppers who use the donations to fulfill the wishes of leftover tags.
