After dinner, there will be an informational meeting and classroom visits. First Day of School - Parking Wednesday, August 8th is the first day of school. We would ask that you refrain from parking on St. Louis Place (in front of church/school), Monday- Friday, between 7:30am 8:00am and between 2:45pm 3:15pm, when the buses are dropping off students in the morning and picking them up in the afternoon. Anointing of the Sick: This sacrament is for anyone with a serious illness, undergoing surgery, etc., or near death. If you would like to receive the Sacrament of the Sick please call the parish office.

Langen s Steak Raffle Raffle tickets for the Langen s Steak raffle are available in the parish office. Tickets are $5.00 each and only 100 tickets are sold.

Help Needed We are in need of 125 for the day of the festival. If you can donate a pie or two, please call Diane Fullenkamp Langen s Steak Raffle Raffle tickets for the Langen s Steak raffle are available in the parish office. Tickets are $5.00 each and only 100 tickets are sold. These tickets were not included with your packet of raffle tickets and are not sold the day of the festival. Haiti Ministry Needs Help Saint Louis Haiti Ministry needs used crutches, walkers, and walking boots for fractures for our medical clinic at Saint Frances Xavier Church in Gandou, Haiti. If you would have any of these items to help our doctors to help the poor, please call or Susan Roell. She will glad to pick these items up, or you can drop those by her house at 26 Westbrook Drive in Batesville. Her phone number is or is d4bears@etczone.com. We need items by September 1, 2018 to get ready for shipment. Tony Melendez Coming to St. Nicholas! International singer and songwriter, Tony Melendez, is coming to St. Nicholas Church on Friday, August 24, from 7:00-9:00pm. Tony was born without arms and a clubbed foot. At the age of 16, Tony taught himself how to play the guitar with his toes. In 1987, he played for Pope John Paul II in Los Angeles, as a gift from the youth. That changed his life forever. He travels the world, sharing with young and old, the message of hope, encouragement and faith. Tickets are limited and are available for a donation of $10 each. For tickets please call Patty Fledderman ; Angie Meyers ; or Carol Bruns RCIA Program The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults is the process we use to teach the basics of Catholicism to people of other faith traditions who want to learn more about the Catholic Church. We welcome people of all backgrounds: People who have never been active in any church, Protestants who want to learn about Catholicism, Baptized Catholics who have never been brought up in the faith, Catholics who have never been confirmed, Catholics feeling the need to learn more about the faith, Parents who are not Catholic but have children attending our School Our sessions will begin in September and are held on Sunday mornings. May he rest in peace. Natural Family Planning A Natural Family Planning Class will be held on Sunday, September 2nd, from 9:00am to 12:15pm in the Deanery Resource Center at St. Louis. The candidate's sponsor and at least one parent should also attend. If a candidate and/or sponsor is unable to attend, please contact Amy Tonges at to make other arrangements. Religious Education Begins August 15th It's time to register for Religious Ed classes. Classes are held on Wednesday s from 6:30-7:45pm during the school year. We will begin the year by attending Mass for the Feast of the Assumption of Mary, a Holy Day of Obligation, on Wednesday, August 15 at 6:30pm. After Mass, there will be a meeting for new parents. Information packets will be available for all parents. Registration forms can be found on the parish website, in the parish office and in the back of church. Please turn forms in at the parish office. We are in need of an additional catechist in both fourth and sixth grades. Please contact Amy Tonges at or religioused@st.louisschool.org if interested, or if you have any questions about the Religious Ed program. All Saints Parish - Last Supper Exhibit During the summer festival at All Saints Parish, St. Paul Campus, New Alsace, you can visit the exhibit of close to 200 images of the Last Supper. The exhibit is free and will be available August 11, 5:00pm midnight; and August 12, 11:00am 6:00pm. For more information, contact the parish office at Graced - Retreat for Girls All Saints Parish will host Graced a girls retreat on Saturday, August 18th at the St. Martin Campus, Yorkville. Prayer needs are addressed in two ways at St. Louis. In the vestibule of church is a Prayer Request Notebook where anyone, at any time, can write prayer concerns. The Members of the Prayer and Praise Ministry commit to praying daily for these intentions. For more urgent prayer needs (illness, surgery, etc.) there is a Prayer Chain that will get dozens of people praying immediately.
