2 Absent: Mayra Adams, Father Stan & Oliver our meetings have been very well attended, thank you, to our Parish Council Members! Nelson will not be at the March Meeting, President Keith will put out the Agenda and also post the minutes. Contact Keith for items to post on the agenda. Meeting called to Order by: President Keith Moenter Guests: None Opening Prayer: February, James Dickey Minutes: Motion to accept, Amy Streator, 2nd Dave Meyer Guest Speaker: None Pastors Report: None President s Report: Keith Moenter 1. Haiti Ministry: They had a meeting Monday 13 th of February. Over all the ministry is healthy. St. Louis, and Holy Family have send a significate amount of money to Gondu. They recently had a wind storm that blew most of the fruit off the trees, and their gardens had not yet matured, so they are using a lot of the money to buy rice and beans. This weekend and next there is a collection of shoes. On March 4 at the K of C there is a chicken dinner for a fund raiser. Website update: Scott Weekley The web site looks like it will be ready approx. March 1 st. The website has the capability for online donations. Parish Council Nominations: Keith, Ken, and Nelson will put forth a list of candidates and also have Michelle to put this in the bulletin for volunteers. We have only one member going off the council, Nelson, but we will want 2 new members so we have continuity of members coming on and off. Environment Committee: Father wants to have a committee to take care of the flowers and so forth. Carolyn Dieckman had agreed to continue taking care of the outside. Liturgy Committee: We now have a committee, they had the 1 st meeting Monday of this week. Father discussed upcoming dates and the responsibilities of each dept. The committee consists of Father Stan, Nelson French, Michelle Wachsman, Amy Tonges, Mike Fritsch, and Susan. 150 th anniversary in 2018: The Parish Life committee has this responsibility for this program.
3 1 st Sunday Rosary and Benediction: James Dickey James sent out a letter to each committee of the Parish, we are trying to encourage to pray for vocations and our parish. Our number was doubled this past Sunday. James says everything begins with prayer. Mission Team: Dave Meyer has tickets for the Royal Ball coming up March 5, 2017 to spend time with the Disney prince and princess. A flyer is attached to the minutes. Tickets $ Dave also said we still have turtle soup for sale. Saint Louis Kids are selling pizzas. Committee Report: Financial Report, Eric Tuveson, Scott Weekley 1. A report was passed out for the 1 st half of the year to compare 2015 to Our half Year runs from July 1 to December 31. Revenues are up but the Christmas collection was not included, so we are positive $13, Since Father has started talking about increasing giving, collections are up around 8%. Enrollment is slightly down. Bingo dollars has started to Improve. I will post the report of comparison of 2015 and2016 with the minutes in the book in back of church and the council has a copy. On the 3 rd page concerning enrollment, 39 8 th graders are leaving, but only 10 are registered for St. Louis preschool. We discussed the reasons. Layoffs, Chinese Program in the public school, birth rate down. February 28, 2017, State of the parish will be in the school cafeteria after the 6 pm Mass.
