Whether you are a long-time parishioner, relatively new to the parish, home from school, or visiting for the weekend, we are grateful that you have chosen to worship here at St. Louis Catholic Church. As Roman Catholics, the Holy Eucharist is the center of our lives, and the source or our mission. Nourished by the Word of God, we strive to instill family values, promote social justice, and foster life-long formation in the Catholic faith. If you are new to the parish, we invite you to register as a member by calling the Parish Office. St. Louis Catholic Church Fall Festival Welcome to all our visitors today. We hope you stay to enjoy a chicken or roast beef dinner with your family and friends. Stay the afternoon for the Eureka Band Concert and enjoy a cold beverage in our Beer Garden. Take some chances on our raffle and see what the Beat the Bid Silent Auction has to offer. Stop by the Bushels of Baskets Booth, or one of our many games for a chance to win a basket or prize. The Plant Stand has a variety of plants and the Country Store has baked goods as well as craft items. We thank all our visitors and parishioners for your patronage and hope everyone enjoys the day at our festival. 2 2 N e w s & N o t e s FESTIVAL FOLLOW-UP Help Take Tents Down Monday, September 18th: Clean up and take tents down starting at 8:00am. Depending on the amount of help received in the morning, we may need to finish Monday evening. MUCH HELP IS NEEDED!! School Parents Monday, September 18th Drop off in the morning: Drop your children off on Walnut Street between St. Louis Place and Helene Street. Your children can then walk in front of the rectory, church and church office to the school. Please do not drop your children off directly in front of the school. This space for bus drop off. Pick up in the afternoon: If the tents are not down by Monday afternoon, please use the parking lot across from the church. Attention Adoration Chapel Adorers Adorers who will be visiting the Adoration Chapel Monday, September 18th, between the hours of 9:00am and 3:00pm are asked to not park in front of the parish office/adoration Chapel. Until the tents are taken down, St. Louis Place between Walnut Street and Main Street will be blocked off so that the students can use the area for their recess. Fr. Stan s Book Club The next book for Fr. Stan s Book Club is, Perelandra, by C.S. Lewis is available in the parish office. The suggested donation is $7 per book. The discussions for this book will be held Tuesday, Oct. 3rd at 6:30pm and Thursday, Oct. 5th at 9:30am. Need Help? If you or someone you know needs help with some yard work or light home repairs, please call Dave Meyer (812) or Carrie Wesseler (812) We will meet with you to see what needs to be done and send a chaperoned crew of youth out to your home. The next work date is scheduled for November 4th. This is a free service. 30 th Annual Life Chain - Lawrenceburg We will gather along U.S. 50 between CVS Pharmacy and St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Lawrenceburg on Sunday, October 1st from 2:00pm 3:30pm. During the Life Chain, idle chatter, frivolity, and verbal or physical responses to motorists are strongly discouraged. LIFE CHAIN is a time for prayerful self-analysis, repentance, and serious commitment to helping end abortion in our nation. October is Respect Life Month and Sunday October 1st is Respect Life Sunday! Reminder Super Sunday Bingo will be held Sunday, October 22nd. Save the date and plan on helping with this very important fundraiser for our school. The sign-up form is on the back of this bulletin. Baptism The newest member of the St. Louis Parish Family is August Robert Beckner, son of William & Kathryn (Dickman) Beckner. Natural Family Planning A Natural Family Planning Class will be held on Sunday, October 1st, from 9:00am to 12:15pm in the Deanery Resource Center at St. Louis. There is a $40.00 fee for books and materials. For reservations call or Baptism Preparation Class The Baptism preparation class is for parents who are having their first child Baptized. The next class will be offered on Tuesday, September 19th at 7:00pm in the Deanery Resource Center at St. Louis. Please call the parish office to register Adoration Chapel There are three open hours for the Adoration Chapel: Sunday 10:00am, 12:00pm; Monday 3:00am; Friday 1:00pm. Called 2 Serve St. Louis Parish Youth Ministries is sponsoring a Called 2 Serve - 1 day local mission scheduled for November 4, Any youth in grades 6-12 and adults are needed to help with this service project.
