Raffles - $2,000 Cash, 2 Quilts, Last Supper Carving, Steamer Trunk, & Diner s Dream Raffle! Booths - Games and Fun for the entire family! Eureka Band - Nations oldest all-volunteer band will entertain at 4:30pm License # KITCHEN HELP NEEDED September 12th-16th Monday and Wednesday at 7:30am to prepare vegetables for turtle soup. PREPARATION for Sunday will be going on throughout the week in the Rose Room and any help would be greatly appreciated! Monday- Friday, September 12th- 16th: Turtle Soup is being made. Tuesday, September 13th: Tents will be set up on the blacktop areas west of the school - 8:00am-4:00pm and 6:00-8:00pm. If you are not working or if you work second shift, please consider coming up to school and lending a hand. MUCH HELP IS NEEDED!! Wednesday- Saturday, September 14th 17th: Help is needed to carry and set up booths, set up tables, etc. Wednesday - Friday from 8:00am-4:00pm and again from 6:00-8:00pm, and on Saturday from 8:00am-noon. Any time you can give to help with the soup or festival set-up this week is appreciated. Thursday, September 15th: Activity Center will be set up with tables and chairs beginning at 6:00pm. Friday, September 16th: NO PARKING on the west side of the activity center. A dumpster will be delivered for the festival. Monday, September 19th: Clean up and take tents down starting at 8:00am. Depending on the amount of help received in the morning, we may need to finish Monday evening. MUCH HELP IS NEEDED!!

2 2 N e w s & N o t e s Festival & School Volunteers Anyone who will be volunteering at school or helping out with the festival (food preparation, making turtle soup, setting up and taking down tents), Tuesday-Friday, September 13th-16th and on Monday, September 19th, from 8:00am to 3:30pm, is asked to park either in the parking lot in front of church or on one of the side streets. The school children will be using the street in front of the parish office and school for their recess due to the tents being put up on the back parking lot on Tuesday. St. Louis Place will be blocked off between Main Street and Walnut Street during the recesses. Also, all volunteers who will be helping with the turtle soup preparation or any other festival preparation which will involve being in the school building during school hours are asked to first stop in the school office to sign in. Volunteers who are helping with selling the soup in the activity center do not need to stop in the office first. Attention School Parents Festival Week Drop off/pick up Members of the parish will be setting up tents for the parish festival. We will not be able to use the parking lot west of the school starting Tuesday, September 13th through Monday, September 19th. Dropping your children off starting Tuesday, September 13th: Drop your children off on Walnut Street between St. Louis Place and Helene Street. Your children can then walk in front of the rectory, church and church office to the school. Please do not drop your children off directly in front of the school. We need to leave this space for bus drop off. Pick up in the afternoon: Please use the parking lot across St. Louis Place from the church. If it is possible for your child to ride the bus or carpool you may want to consider this option. The fewer cars we have in the parking lot the safer it will be for our children. If the tents are down by Monday afternoon, September 19th, we may be able to use the parking lot west of the school. Please check this lot first on the 19th. Turtle Soup Sale -September 12th-19th Turtle Soup will be on sale this week in the Activity Center Foyer starting Monday, September 12th from 12:00 Noon-8:00pm, Tuesday - Friday, September 13th-16th, from 8:00am-6:30pm, and on Saturday, September 17th, from 8:00am-12:00 Noon. Please enter through the Activity Center doors only. The soup will be sold for $16.00 per gallon, $8.00 per half gallon, and $4.00 per quart. The soup will also be available through the week at Schmidt s Bakery during their normal business hours. On th, during the Festival, the Turtle Soup will be available for sale until it s gone. FOOD NEEDED! EGGS, POTATOES, ONIONS, CARROTS and ALL DRY GOODS, COFFEE and SUGAR are needed by Monday morning. The making of the turtle soup begins on Monday, and the necessary items for the soup are needed by Monday morning. TOMATOES, PEPPERS, MILK and BUTTER should be dropped off on Friday morning. Please bring all PIES and CAKES to the school cafeteria on Sunday morning. If you are unable to navigate the steps in school to deliver your baked goods, there will be a PIE and CAKE DROP OFF on the Main Street side of the school building from 7:00-11:00am on Sunday morning. Look for the orange cones on Main Street. RCIA All Welcome All are welcome to join us for any or all RCIA sessions! We meet in the parish office meeting room on Sundays. Baptism Preparation Class The Baptism preparation class is for parents who are having their first child Baptized. The next class will be offered on Tuesday, September 20th at 7:00pm in the Prickel Building. Please call the parish office to register Natural Family Planning A Natural Family Planning Class will be held on Sunday, October 2nd, from 9:00am to 12:15pm in the Prickel Building. All altar servers must attend one of the training sessions. First Communion Meeting Parents of all 2nd graders who will be making their First Communion on May 7, 2017 should plan to attend the meeting on Wednesday, September 14th at 6:45pm in the school cafeteria. This meeting is for parents only. St. Louis Youth News High School Youth Group Hayride - September 11, Meet in the St. Louis School back parking lot at 4:00pm. We will ride to the Brelage home for some games, campfire dinner, and more! We return to St. Louis at 8:00pm. Anyone in high school welcome! Bring a snack or drink to share. Mission Trip - Anyone planning to attend the youth mission trip to Newark Valley, NY next summer should have a registration form turned in by September 30th.
