Louis Festival News A very special thank you to Whitey Weberding and Ron Weigel for their many years of service and dedication to the success of our parish festival.

Larry Schutte is also stepping down as chairperson of the Bingo game at the festival and Terry Weberding is stepping down as the $100 wheel chairperson.

We recognize that many people that do not even have children in the school were there to lend a hand. Many volunteers worked double shifts and stayed late to help clean up. Thank you to all that sent in baked goods and were there on Friday night to set up. We had a great group of volunteers, and the bingo players expressed their appreciation too. The rewards are endless for your efforts! St. Louis Festival News A very special thank you to Whitey Weberding and Ron Weigel for their many years of service and dedication to the success of our parish festival. Whitey and Ron are stepping down as cochairs of the festival. We will need a person or group of people to step up and take on this very important role. Thank you Larry and Terry for all of your work these past years. We will need someone to step up and fill these positions as well. CYO Volleyball Any girls (7th through 12th grade) interested in playing on the St. Anthony s CYO volleyball team please contact Cindy Gerstbauer at There are usually 2 practices per week starting in November. Games are played on Sundays. The season runs through March. Back from the Dead Cemetery Walk Stroll through the quiet cemetery and allow the saints speak to your heart. St. Anne s Ladies Sodality presents a dramatized cemetery walk on th at 5:00pm at St. Anthony, Morris. Meet in the hall to sign up for a tour. Enjoy refreshments and games while you wait. All are encouraged to dress as your favorite saint. Food Pantry During November and December we see a significant increase in usage at the food pantry. Each household is offered extras during the holiday months and it all goes very quickly. Your help in providing the extra food we need is so much appreciated and we honestly couldn't do it without your generosity. St. Louis Parish is asked to donate canned fruit and fruit juices. The holidays can be a very stressful and difficult time for those in need. The little extras they receive make a world of difference to our clients and their children. Verso L alto Young adults, ages 18 and older, are invited to attend a Verso L'alto talk, "Faithful Citizenship: Catholic Principles for Voting," on Friday, October 28th. Glenn Tebbe, director of the Indiana Catholic Conference, will speak about the importance of voting with an informed conscience as we prepare for the election. Baptism Preparation Class The Baptism preparation class is for parents who are having their first child Baptized. 4 6 F a i t h F o r m a t i o n W h a t s H a p p e n i n g Night of Worship (NOW) All high school youth and young adults are invited to a monthly Night of Worship at St. Nicholas Parish on Saturday, November 5th. Fr. Shaun Whittington hosts a Night of Worship every first Saturday, 6:00pm-8:30pm. Come and enjoy adoration, witness talks, small group time, praise and worship and prayer. All adults are welcome. Deanery Year of Mercy Pilgrimage As we approach the end of the Jubilee Year of Mercy, we will be making a pilgrimage to St. Meinrad Archabbey. This is one of the two holy sites designated within our Archdiocese by Archbishop Tobin to gain the indulgence granted in this Year of Mercy. At St. Meinrad, we will have an opportunity to gain the indulgence, tour the grounds, listen to a talk, go to Confession, pray with the Monks, and go to Mass. Plan on wearing comfortable shoes as we will be doing a lot of walking and it is a little hilly. The charter bus will depart from All Saints Parish St. Joseph Campus at 7:30am on Saturday, November 5th. We will return to St. Joseph Campus at 9:45pm. SPACE IS LIMITED! This program is designed to provide support and some tools to better equip those who are going through grief during this difficult time. Contrary to popular opinion, not all religious orders are aging and fading away. The orders that are loyal to the teaching of the Church and follow more traditional patterns of religious life are bursting at the seams with vocations of enthusiastic and dedicated young women. Here are several of those orders: The new Dominican Sisters of Mary, Mother of the Eucharist, is an order which started over 9 years ago in the Ann Arbor area of Michigan. The sisters wear traditional habits and their work is reminiscent of that done traditionally by sisters over the centuries. [ssvmusa.org] The Sisters of Life is a contemplative/active religious community of women founded in 1991 by John Cardinal O Connor for the protection and enhancement of the sacredness of every human life. You ll see them represented at every annual Walk of Life in D.C. [SistersOfLife.org] The Poor Clares of Perpetual Adoration (PCPA) of Our Lady of Solitude Monastery in Tonopah, AZ, are a contemplative Religious order. They are adorers of the Most Blessed Sacrament and the purpose of their adoration is thanksgiving. [DesertNuns.com] The nuns of the Dominican Monastery of Our Lady of the Rosary, Summit, NJ, find themselves with a happy problem: The monastery has run out of room! This monastery is a remarkable place, full of young, joyful, spirit-filled women. They are attracting novices not merely to religious life, but also to one of the most challenging forms of religious life: that of the cloistered contemplative.
