Are you an experienced Catholic who wonders why we do some of the things we do? Why do we choose a patron saint for confirmation? Why do we sing Latin songs sometimes?

The first meetings will focus on the Mass and why each part of the Mass is there. We will meet on the second Monday of the month at 7:00pm in the parish office. We will finish before 8:30pm.

Visit Thank you! WHY DO WE DO THAT? Are you a new Catholic? Are you an experienced Catholic who wonders why we do some of the things we do? Why do we choose a patron saint for confirmation? Why do we sing Latin songs sometimes? Why does the priest do the dishes at Mass? A new group is forming at St. Louis with the answers to those questions and many more. The first meetings will focus on the Mass and why each part of the Mass is there. We will meet on the second Monday of the month at 7:00pm in the parish office. We will finish before 8:30pm. We would love to see you at our first meeting on June 11th! St. Louis Parish Directory Time slots are still available for anyone wanting to sign up for pictures for the church directory. Just go on line to ucdir.com. Log in is: in1470 and password is: smile1. Anyone that has not signed up will be getting a call from Universal Church Directory to provide assistance helping you sign up for pictures, if you are interested. If you are unable to get your picture taken and would like to be included in the church directory, please drop off a photo to the parish office. Father s Day Memorial In your packet of church envelopes is an envelope for donations in honor of and in memory of Fathers. The Fathers being memorialized will be listed in the Father s Day bulletin. All names to be included in the Father s Day bulletin must be turned in to the parish office by Friday, June 8th. Parish Picnic - Save the Date! Our St. Louis Parish picnic will be Sunday, July 22nd at Liberty Park. The celebration will begin with 11:00am Mass in the park. Fun, games and fellowship for all ages! More details coming soon. Committee Chairperson Meeting There will be a festival planning meeting for all committee chairpersons on Tuesday, June 12th at 7:00pm in the school cafeteria. All are welcome! It s time for VACATION BIBLE CAMP! CAMPERS and VOLUNTEERS NEEDED! June 18-22; 9:00am 11:30am Summer just wouldn't be the same without those VBC tunes. If your summer plans are missing something, VBC is looking for group leaders and station leaders. If you like crafts, Bible stories, or just helping out, we need you! Volunteer and registration forms are available in the back of church, the parish office, or contact Amy Tonges at religioused@st.louisschool.org. Baptisms The newly baptized at St. Louis Parish are: McKenna Kay Davenport, daughter of Kenneth & Tracy (Weiler) Davenport; and Wyatt Andrew Hazelwood, son of Ryan & Kaitlyn (Belter) Hazelwood. Parish Office Summer Hours The parish office will have Summer hours beginning May 30, 2018 through August 8, The hours will be: Monday 8:00am 4:00pm; Tuesday Friday 8:00am 1:00pm. School Summer Hours The school office will be open May 31st June 8th from 8:00am 1:00pm. From June 12th July 25th the office will be open on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 8:00am 12:00pm. Natural Family Planning A Natural Family Planning Class will be held on Sunday, June 3rd, from 9:00am to 12:15pm in the Deanery Resource Center at St. Louis. There is a $40.00 fee for books and materials. For reservations call or text Aly at or Mike at Baptism Preparation Class The Baptism preparation class is for parents who are having their first child Baptized. The next class will be offered on Tuesday, June 19th at 7:00pm in the Deanery Resource Center at St. Louis. Please call the parish office to register Adoration Chapel The open hours for the Adoration Chapel are: Sunday 8:00am, 9:00am, 5:00pm; Monday 3:00am; Thursday 11:00am; Friday 1:00pm If you are able to sub for one of these open hours, please sign up outside the Adoration Chapel. If you are able to fill an open hour, call Christy Confession Schedule Change Beginning Tuesday, June 5th, confessions will be heard from 5:00pm 5:30pm, before the 6:00pm Mass.

4 6 N e w s & N o t e s W h a t s H a p p e n i n g Theology of the Body for Teens All 8th graders graduating seniors are welcome to join us this Summer as we discover how to receive and give authentic love through the Theology of the Body for Teens, program The first meeting will be June 6th from 9:00am 11:00am at the St. Louis Parish Office. St. Louis Cemetery Prayer Garden Blessing Would you like to spend time in prayer in the cemetery? Have you, or someone you know, lost a child, grandchild, family member, or loved one? There is now a beautiful prayer garden on the West side of the cemetery, near the infant section. Fr. Stan will bless this area on th at 10:30am. All are welcome. Need Prayer? Prayer needs are addressed in two ways at St. Louis. In the vestibule of church is a Prayer Request Notebook where anyone, at any time, can write prayer concerns. The Members of the Prayer and Praise Ministry commit to praying daily for these intentions. For more urgent prayer needs (illness, surgery, etc.) there is a Prayer Chain that will get dozens of people praying immediately. That the Presence of Jesus, will be experienced in all marriages, in all business relations, in all daily encounters, and in our friendships. That Fathers will be richly blest, and guided by the Holy Spirit to lead their families to their heavenly Father. That those participating in the Steubenville Youth Retreat may have an experience that strengthens their relationship with the Lord, and they will continue to nurture that relationship in their daily lives. That the unfailing providence of God will guide and direct all those faced with making difficult decisions, especially our graduates who are making career and vocation choices.
