Whether you are a long-time parishioner, relatively new to the parish, home from school, or visiting for the weekend, we are grateful that you have chosen to worship here at St. Louis Catholic Church. As Roman Catholics, the Holy Eucharist is the center of our lives, and the source or our mission. 2 2 N e w s & N o t e s Parish Council Members Needed St. Louis Parish Council will have vacancies to fill for the fiscal year. The openings are elected positions which serve for a three year term. If you would be interested in giving of your time and talent by serving on Parish Council, please submit your name to the Parish Office. Mission Team Soup/Sub Sale The TriForce Mission Team will be hosting a Soup and Sub sale Saturday, April 23rd and Sunday, April 24th. Turtle Soup is $4 per quart. Fresh handmade subs are $6.00 for 6 inch and $16.00 for 18 inch subs. Order forms are available at the parish office and on the team website at triforcemission.wix.com under the Events tab. Forms are due to the St. Louis Parish office by April 18, Turtle Soup will also be available for purchase in the St. Louis Parish Activity Center on April 23rd from 1:00pm until 6:30pm and April 24th from 9:00am until 12:30pm or until sold out. Money raised will go toward the mission trip to Cannonsburg, PA this summer. Youth Ministry - Called 2 Serve Local Mission St. Louis Parish Youth Ministries is sponsoring a Called 2 Serve 1 day local mission scheduled for April 16, We will start at 8:30am at Liberty Park and return to the park at 3:00pm. Any youth in grades 6-12 and adults are needed to help with this service project. Registration forms for youth and adults can be found at the parish office and online. Need Two Pharmacists and a Doctor The Saint Louis/Saint Anthony Haiti Ministry is in need of two pharmacists and a doctor for the medical mission trip in Gandou, Haiti on June The doctor and pharmacists do not have to be from our parish. So if you have a friend or relative who has always wanted to go on a medical mission trip here is a chance for an experience of a life time. The cost to go is $1500 and is self-funded. Reds vs. Cardinals Raffle The Sisters of St. Francis are holding a raffle to benefit the Sisters of St. Francis Retirement Fund. If you or someone you know needs help with some yard work or light home repairs, please call Dave Meyer (812) or Carrie Wesseler (812) We will meet with you to see what needs to be done and send a chaperoned crew of youth out to your home. The next work date is scheduled for April 16th. This is a free service. Fr. Stan s Book Club The book is, Quo Vadis. There are still copies available for pick up in the parish office. Fr. Baptism Preparation Class The Baptism preparation class is for parents who are having their first child Baptized. The next class will be offered on Tuesday, April 19th at 7:00pm in the Prickel Building. To mark such a wonderful day, the office will be celebrating a special Mass for Vocations at Our Lady of the Greenwood at 6:00pm. Representatives from many different Vocations will be coming together to celebrate all Vocations. A reception will follow the Mass. Marriage is Forever The Batesville Deanery Resource Center presents this day of reflection designed for couples planning to be married, newly married or as training for sponsor couples.
