Believers Ministries focus, purpose and mission is to seek and to save that which was lost, to proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ, exhorting people to repent, believe, and obey the gospel. Spreading the Gospel The weekly messages being preached at the Believers Ministries Outreach Center, continue to be a part of the tape library at the Ohio Reformatory for Women in Marysville, Ohio, Franklin Pre-Release Center in Columbus, Ohio, Madison Correctional Institute, London Correctional Institute, both in London, Ohio, and Talbert House in Cincinnati, Ohio. Weekly taped messages continue to go out to Rebecca s House, and all four of the Alvis Houses in Columbus, Ohio. 2 Family & Friends Fellowship On Sunday, January 6, 2013, Believers Ministries held a Family & Friends Day fellowship dinner for the new year. The theme was New Beginnings. Our Pastor, Elder Marilyn Dawkins, brought forth the message entitled, Run From Start to Finish. The message was encouragement to stay focused while we run this Christian race. After the service, the fellowship continued with a delicious dinner. To God be the glory! Women of Purpose Support Group Believers Ministries held Women of Purpose Support Group meetings at the Outreach Center during the months of January, March, April and June at 2:00 p.m. Minister Connie Mackey from Glory to God Ministries was the group leader. The women s support group is a time of sharing and caring. It is designed to assist women in addressing their issues and provides Christcentered spiritual growth and encouragement. Women of Purpose Fellowship On Saturday, February 16, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. Believers Ministries held a Women of Purpose Fellowship. Our guest speaker was Elder Rhonda Pickett from Living Water Ministry. Women from various churches came together for an afternoon of fellowship and worship to the Lord. Bible Study: The Nine Fruit of the Spirit Beginning on Saturday, January 12, 2013, Sister Tracy Simmons began teaching a bible study course on The Nine Fruit of the Spirit: A Bible Study on Developing Christian Character. This course focused on the Christian character which is captured in nine traits. Each of these nine character traits was examined in the light of God s Word and how best to allow them to be developed in our individual life. On Saturday, May 18, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. Believers Ministries held a Women of Purpose Fellowship. Our guest speaker was Evangelist Carmen Duckens from Vineyard. Women from various churches came together for an afternoon of fellowship and worship to the Lord. After service, the fellowship continued as the ladies gathered together for a delicious dinner. Galatians 5:22-23 (KJV) 22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, 23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. We thank God for our speakers and all the women who came together in love for an afternoon of Praise, Worship and fellowship. The Believers' Voice - 2

3 Resurrection Sunday On Sunday, March 31, 2013, Believers Ministries held Sunrise Services at 6:00 a.m. to celebrate the resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Our Pastor, Elder Marilyn Dawkins brought forth the message entitled Because of the Resurrection, We Have Victory. The message reiterated the importance of remembering Jesus death, burial and resurrection, and as born again believers we should celebrate Jesus resurrection every day. As we celebrate Jesus resurrection it s important to remember what this special day means to us. After that powerful resurrection day service of feasting on the Word, it was time to feast on the natural food. Everyone was invited to breakfast at Frisch s Big Boy, located at 3920 S. Hamilton Rd. Family Movie Night Believers Ministries held a Family Movie Night on Friday, April 12, 2013, at 7:00 p.m. at the Outreach Center. The movie was entitled Courageous. This was an exciting, funny and powerful story about four police officers and a Hispanic carpenter realizing that they need to be better fathers. It had a very strong clear, evangelistic Christian, moral worldview with very real conversions, strong emphasis on fatherhood, exhibiting love, care, concern, selfless giving, integrity, mentoring, and devoting time and energy to others. Refreshments were served. Everyone enjoyed the movie as well as the fellowship with one another. We thank God for a wonderful day of fellowship, and we especially thank Him for the resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Mother s Day Mother s Day was celebrated on Sunday, May 12, All of the mothers were presented with pink carnations. The following Mother s Day prayer was dedicated to all mother s. A Mother s Day Prayer Father, we thank you for godly women who have responded to your will by saying, Be it done unto me as you say. We are grateful for the strength and stability Christian mothers have brought to our lives, our community, church, and nation. On this day of recognition, may these mothers experience a special blessing of grace and peace. We thank you for mothers who taught us to be faithful stewards of life. May our giving reflect those truths and bear witness of the positive and lasting influence of Christian Mothers. We pray in Jesus name. Amen The Believers' Voice - 3

4 Father s Day Father s Day was celebrated on Sunday, June 16, All the fathers were presented with a special gift. The following Father s Day poem was read that lists the characteristics of a Christian Father. Five Facts for Fine Fathers A Patient Man - A wise father must be patient. It is an honor for a man to remain far from strife; Proverbs 20:3 A Hard Worker - A good father is also a hard working man, not lazy. Proverbs 20:4 A Good Listener - A good father is also a good listener. We can paraphrase this verse to say, the thoughts in a child's heart are like deep waters, but an understanding father draws them out. Proverbs 20:5 A Faithful Friend - A good father is also a faithful friend. Proverbs 20:6 A Righteous Man - A good father is a righteous man. He leads a blameless life of high character and caliber. He is committed to Jesus Christ, to His Word, to prayer, and to his church. He is honest, modeling integrity for his children. Proverbs 20:7 The promise at the end of Proverbs 20:7 says that the children of such a man will be blessed. Happy is the child whose father is a patient man, a hard worker, a good listener, a faithful friend, and a righteous soul. Happy are the children of the father whose God is the Lord. Rise up, O men of God! Have done with lesser things; Give heart and mind and soul and strength To serve the King of Kings.
