Josiah Byrd served as our worship leader. Jill Byrd provided the scripture from the Old Testament (Isaiah 49: 1-7), and Marqessa Njie read Acts 10:42-48 from the New Testament. Deacon Wilbur Brown, Tenets of Faith, Adult Class Teacher, offered the prayer. Musical selections were rendered by the Anointed Voices. This year s theme was Called to be Inclusive. Students from the youth and adult classes shared lessons learned throughout the previous Sunday school year. This presented an awesome opportunity for others to hear how students from the various classes were learning and growing in their faith through Sunday school lessons. Recognition of the Sunday School Ministry students and staff was given by Deacon Curtiss Millner, Superintendent, and Deacon Denise Millner, Assistant Superintendent. They also recognized the grandparents during the program. After remarks from our Pastor, Anthony Parrish, our program closed with the hymn Bringing in the Sheaves and the reading of the Sunday school memory verse, Exodus 31:13; Hebrews 12:28; 1 Corinthians 11:25. Fellowship was held in the lower Sanctuary with a hearty brunch. The Sunday School Ministry would like to thank all the program participants for a job well done, and thank you to our Shiloh ministries, family and friends for your support. We appreciate Curtiss and Denise Millner for all that they do and their willingness to serve as Sunday School Superintendents. 4 The Re-Birth of the Praise Dance Ministry On Sunday, September 17th the Shiloh New Site Praise Dance Ministry blessed the congregation with two spirit filled performances to the songs Joy and Smile, the dancers did an awesome job. We wish the Praise Dance Ministry the best as the young ladies continue to grow closer to God and move their ministry in a new direction. 6 Usher Ministry Update Sis. Sheila McCray, a Junior Usher Director, served during the offering, on the second Sunday in September. 7 From the Library October is National Alzheimer's Disease Awareness Month Here are two helpful titles in our library about the disease. A self-help guide for those who must take care of family members suffering from dementia and other debilitating illnesses, with detailed advice on how these caregivers should also take care of themselves. Submitted by Jeannette Ellis Winner of the Books for a Better Life Award, and hailed as an "excellent resource" by the Family Caregiver Alliance, How To Care For Aging Parents is completely revised, updated, and expanded, with nearly 300 pages of new material. Compassionate and thorough, it is a caregiver's bible. When love is not enough and, regrettably, it never is this is an essential guide. Now, more than ever. 7
