5 Now is an exciting time to be a part of the Youth Ministry at Oak Grove UMC! Our Fall Kickoff was a huge success. We had 158 students and 31 volunteers join us for our Color War! A cloud of powder paint filled the air, white shirts became a color tapestry, smiles were had by all, and the energy was palpable. Earlier in the night the Youth Choir had 42 students join their voices for the first time this semester! With 55 students signed up for Youth Choir this year, they are poised to have another amazing year full of singing, laughing, and growing. This week we start Youth Worship at Youth Fellowship, and are excited to have a full band comprised of students and adults to lead us! Discipleship Groups (D-Groups) start next week, and our Middle and High School retreats are coming up soon! The beginning of school is always busy, but we are so excited to have all of our students back from summer vacation! SUNDAY SCHOOL Sundays: 9:30-10:30 a.m. Youth Hall YOUTH CHOIR Sundays: 4:30-5:30p.m. Choir Room YOUTH FELLOWSHIP Sundays: 5:30-7:30 p.m. OPEN GYM Wednesdays: 3-5 p.m. STAY Connected Youth Hall Volunteer with OGUMC Youth: When we baptize our students, the congregation promises to nurture one another in the Christian faith and life, and include those being baptized into our care. We commit, with God's help, to proclaim the good news and live according to the example of Christ. We will surround these persons with a community of love and forgiveness, that they may grow in their trust of God, and be found faithful in their service to others. We pray for them, that they may be true disciples who walk in the way that leads to life. Help us make good on this promise by being a Sunday School teacher, Youth Fellowship volunteer, D-Group leader, Friend in Faith, or with your prayers! For more information, contact our Youth Minister, Bryan Bontrager (bbontrager@ogumc.org). 57th Annual Oak Grove Barbecue: Saturday, October 20 The 57th annual Oak Grove United Methodist Men s Barbecue will be held on Saturday, October 20.
