3 Worship Notes This morning we welcome Corbin Groenewold & Hadley Lemmenes as baptized members. May they be enfolded into this community of believers. We will also be hearing from those who went on the youth group trip to Rehoboth. Due to the Leadership Conference we will be worshiping at Bethel tonight at 7:00 PM. Next Sunday Evening we will be meeting at Bethel CRC at 7:00 PM for a combined Labor Day service. Pray for patience and healing. - Tabbie Vander Werff as she waits on another consultation to determine what can be done to help with her back. - Carlie Jansen who received GREAT NEWS, no spots! Pray for her as she goes back to school for the transition for Tyler and Carlie. - Bob Bille who has an aneurysm on his aorta and will need to make decisions regarding surgery. 5 Prayer for the Schools-on Wednesday, August 31, 9-11 am. Be a force in prayer! Pray for the safety and success of our schools this year! Interested see flyer on the bulletin board in the foyer area. Christian Fellowship will be meeting on September 1, 2016 at 6:30. First Place for Health will not meet again until September 12. We will be meeting on September 12 at 6:00 PM for a celebration and orientation. Looking forward to seeing you there! Women of all ages... There is something here for everyone. Even if you haven t registered don t worry, there is always room for you! Your kids can come and enjoy playing in the nursery. Prayerfully consider this wonderful opportunity. CWC 2016 Harvest Auction, Sunset Safari, work is underway. The Auction is the biggest friend-raising and fund-raising event of the year. Bethany Christian Services is looking for people from the Waupun area that would be interested in participating in their 22 nd Annual Swing Fore Kids golf event on Friday, September 16 at Camelot. 8 Proclaiming Evidence for Truth THIS WEEK'S CREATION MOMENT There's Something Fishy About This Car He hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him. Isaiah 53:2b Why in the world would engineers at Mercedes- Benz and DaimlerChrysler turn to a fish built like a box for inspiration on automotive design? After all, automakers want their vehicles to travel just as efficiently through air as sharks swim through water. But the boxfish is anything but streamlined. The fact is the cube-shaped boxfish slips through water with unparalleled efficiency. As the journal Science put it, "One look at the aptly named boxfish, and you might expect it to swim as well as a barn would fly." Creationist Donald DeYoung points out in his book Discovery of Design, "Observations show that the boxfish swims easily and safely, even in turbulent water. Self-correcting vortices of current develop around its body and effectively cancel out the buffeting forces of surging water." DeYoung pointed out that though the automotive engineers had gone to the aquarium to design a car patterned after the sleek shark, the vehicles DaimlerChrysler ended up basing their automobile designs on was the boxfish. And it wasn't just the fish's shape that they copied. By patterning the door panels after the hexagonal skin pattern of the fish, the cars were found to excel in safety, comfort, maneuverability and environmental friendliness. The compact cars even boasted excellent gas mileage to as high as 70 miles per gallon! Only our glorious Creator could have designed a clunky-looking fish that can help automobile designers develop safer and more fuel-efficient cars!
