3 Worship Notes Tonight we will join with Bethel and Alto for our Prayer Day service. Come to Alto CRC and dedicate some time to prayer starting at 7:00pm. Living without prayer is like trying to live without breathing. Next Sunday we continue looking at the seven deadly sins, those sins that led to the crucifixion of our Savior, Jesus Christ. On this Sunday we examine pride in our lives. All of us deal with this sin because we like to have people think that we are great. The problem is that pride turns us away from God so that we can worship ourselves and get others to do the same. Pride makes our worship into getting what we want instead of giving God what He deserves. In two weeks, for our evening service on Easter Sunday the Randolph Community Choir will be leading us in worship. Come and worship in song. Verses of the week: In your anger do not sin : Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry, and do not give the devil a foothold. Vision Planning Teams formed as a follow-up to the Council Retreat reported on their initial process. Those teams include Inter-generational Ministry, Formalized Leadership Training, and Effective Leadership Training. Watch for more specific initiatives from these teams. 2. Pastor Craig Van Hill, Elder Gregg Zonnefeld, and Deacon Jon Venhuizen reported on the spring meeting of Classis Wisconsin. An extensive discussion on same-sex marriage and our response to the issue and how to minister in this area followed. 3. A timeline was set for the nomination of elders and deacons. The nomination process will be opened up starting in April. 4. Deacons reported on the financials and on adjustments to the offering schedule. Our denominational giving is currently low.

4 5. Elders reported on a Wedding Shower to be held on June 17th for couples getting married this year. A draft version of a new Marriage Policy has been approved. 6. Education Team reported on exciting news from GEMS (52 girls) and Cadets (45 boys). Our church does not have anyone serving as a GEMS Counselor at present. Pray that he will continue to gain strength. - Sandy Greenfield for healing & pain relief as she slowly recovers from a sternum fracture & a bruise from a fall. - Germaine Navis as he entered the Hospice Hope Home in Fond du Lac this past week. Pray that Germaine and Carol will feel peace and strength. - Lynnae Smits as she recovers from ACL surgery. Pray that her physical therapy helps and that she can have patience and decreasing pain as the weeks go on. - Trix Daane as she recovers from a broken ankle. Pray for patience as she is home-bound, for good sleep, and for progress as the days go by. - Lift up Dick Heeringa as he prepares for back surgery on Tuesday. Pray for a safe and successful surgery followed by a recovery that brings relief. The deacons would like to encourage you to join the TRIP program if you have not already done so. TRIP is very easy to do and it would greatly improve our budget if you participated. Consider for example that if

5 you bought a $100 gas card 10% of that would come to the church. Please contact Kim CWC to enroll today! The youth group would like to thank everyone who bought subs. It was such a success that we don't even have subs left over. We made around 1300 sub sandwiches and all the profits go to help us pay for our trip to Rehoboth this summer, where we will join with other youth groups from across North America. There we will experience a different culture, worship together, serve the community, and have some fun. So, thank you for your support. There are many resources available for Senior Citizens or for those that are helping to care for elderly parents/relatives through the Aging & Disability Resource Center of Dodge County. Gladys has many of these available in the church office, if you are looking for information pertaining to dealing with Alzheimer s, Dementia, Grief Support, etc. please check with her. There are also workshops available for information on Medicare, see the bulletin board for more information. Church News St. Ben s Project Spring 2016: We need your help! Please take a moment to sign up today. We will be providing the evening meal on Friday, March 25. Thanks in advance for your continued support of this important project. There will be an Education Team Meeting next Sunday, March 7PM The elementary students of CWC would like to invite you to their Spring Musical. They will be performing "God's Top 10." In this musical we explore the Ten Commandments. Please join us in Crusader Centre on Friday, March 18. Performances are at 9 am and 6:30 pm. The 3K - 5th grades look forward to seeing you there! Seniors how would you like to be served a free meal by the youth group and have a chance to show your years of experience and knowledge by beating them at garbage ball? The time is quickly approaching so sign-up today in the narthex for our annual Senior Supper. You are invited to come on March 23 at 5:30 for a fun night. The SWaT scavenger hunt event is only a couple weeks away! On March 23 rd from 6:30 7:30pm the Bethel and First CRC middle school kids will be collecting food and toiletry items for the Waupun Food Pantry. We will stop by and pick items up from your home. Please consider helping a great cause! You can the Bethel church office at waupunbethelcrc@att.net or call the Bethel church office at to get on the list! If you would prefer, items can also be brought to either Bethel or First CRC no later than Wednesday, March 23. Items most

6 needed by the Food Pantry are: Macaroni & Cheese, Hamburger Helper, Tuna and Toothpaste. They are not in need of green beans. Thank you! SWaT kids should meet at First CRC at 6:00pm on Wednesday, March 23. We will begin with pizza and refreshments and then head off for a fun evening of collecting items for the Waupun Food Pantry. Parents can pick up at First CRC at 8:00pm. OH4F will be having an information meeting at Helen s Kitchen tomorrow evening, March 14 at 6:00 PM. The meeting is for information only, you are not obligated to join a trip. Please come out and let us introduce you to the orphans. Dessert is on us! The Randolph Community Choir will be presenting "Jesus, Messiah", an Easter musical on Sunday, March 20 at 7pm at the 1st Reformed Church in Randolph, 406 S High St., Sunday, March 27 at 6pm at the 1st CRC in Waupun 20 Bly St., and Sunday, April 3 at 9:30am at Living Hope Community Church in Fox Lake, 740 W State St. Save the date for the 2nd Annual Moms' & More Night Out held at Central Wisconsin Christian in new Cornerstone Learning Center on Tuesday, March 22nd from 6-8 pm. ALL WOMEN are invited to this open house which will offer many local vendors with displays and door prizes. Come for a night of friends, fellowship, and fun. Mark your calendars for the MacDowell Male Chorus which will be coming to the Waupun City Hall on April 9, Founded in 1934, the Appleton MacDowell Male Chorus is one of the longest continuously running male choruses in the United States. They average between members. Tickets for the concert are $10.00 and will be available at City Hall, the Christian Home, and the Board of Directors of the Christian Home. Proceeds will go to the Capital Campaign for the new Christian Home and Rehabilitation project. Sue Buwalda has tickets available, contact her if you are interested. Come support a mission of our church." Join us for our annual Pork Chop Supper Fundraiser at Trinity Reformed Church in Waupun, March 19th, to support the mission team headed to Mt. Vernon, KY. Tickets are $10 and the meal includes a pork chop, baked potato, corn, applesauce, roll, and dessert. We are serving 5-7:30 p.m. and take-out is available. Bassam Madany, founder of Middle East Resources, teaches this year's Spring Evening Class entitled "The Christian Response to the

This series of lectures will concentrate on the Book of Job, the question of why Christ had to suffer, and rejoicing in tribulation. Dr. Thomas will present these three lectures on March 22, at 2:00, 3:30, and 5:00 pm. New Digital Library and Discount Announced for CRCs - The CRC has announced the launch of a new Digital Library to provide its churches and members with free, online access to hundreds of Faith Alive titles- -including curriculum, Bible studies, and more. In April, Agrace Hospice Care will hold Journey Through Grief, a six-week grief support group for adults who are grieving a death. The group will meet Mondays, April 18 through May 23 (Monday), 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Agrace, 1670 South Boulevard, Baraboo. Retirement: Pastor Larry Meyer plans to retire as of June 1, His retirement will be marked with special worship services and activities on Sunday, May 22, at Christ Community Church (formerly First CRC), 428 Geele Avenue, Sheboygan, WI The morning worship service is at 10:00 a.m. The congregation of Christ Community is deeply grateful for the ministry of Pastor Meyer and his wife Donna over the past six years.
