4 Large-print bulletins and children's bulletins are available in the back sanctuary rack. Please feel free to check one of the Visitor mail slots in the narthex for additional materials. Worship Notes During this season of Lent we are looking at the 7 Deadly Sins. Every week we will be using a different colored cloth to represent our sin. These cloths are dirty, tying in Isaiah 64. Today we examine Greed. We place a yellow cloth on the cross as a symbol of the desire for material wealth. On Easter the yellow reminds us of the brightness of God's glory. This morning s offering is for Faith Promise to support missionaries and mission organizations as designated by our church Council. This fund currently supports Brother Bob s Outreach, Daryl and Mary Pfantz (Wycliffe Bible Translators), Scott Ritzema (Youth for Christ), The Union, Local Deaconal Outreach, Waupun Area Cadets, Waupun GEMS, and Pastor K. (the full name of this Faith Promise recipient has been omitted for security reasons) This evening s offering is for the Building Fund to pay for repairs and purchases for the parsonage, church building, and church equipment, including maintenance of the buildings and grounds and any needed additions to accommodate the growing church. Verse of the Week: Hebrews 13:5 Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you. Our Family We officially welcome Nathan, Jamie, Micah, Lydia, Jonah, and Aaron Fikkert into our First CRC family. We look forward to serving the Lord with you for many years to come. Sandy Greenfield will have the nerves in her neck burned tomorrow in an effort to relieve her neck pain. Your prayers that the procedure is effective would be appreciated. 6 Have you been thinking about making Profession of Faith or wondering what that involves? Pastor Craig would like to start a new class in the near future and/or this summer. Please contact him if you would like to join or have questions about it. Christian marriages always have and always will be under attack from Satan, and he s quite good at it (read Genesis 3). He knows full well that a Christian marriage provides strength and security for a family of faith, so he craftily chips away at the mortar that holds the marriage together until the home finally comes crashing down. Don t wait for that to happen appraise your marriage today, making sure it is firmly built on the foundation of God s Word and the mortar is continually strengthened by open communication, mutual respect, love, prayer, and sacrifice. Anyone interested in joining a marriage strengthening Bible study is encouraged to sign up in the narthex, indicating which evening of the week works best for you to meet. There are a few extra subs available. See a Youth Group leader in the kitchen after the service if you are interested in purchasing some. 12 March 11, 2011 Greetings: As my awake time dwindles (symptomatic of liver cancer) I also find my thoughts of the Lord, his purposes, as well as those who have been with us in our harvest labors these many years who understand, appreciate and join us in the eternal struggles of this life in the preparation of ourselves and therefore others for that which is promised and will surely come. Certainly not least among these are the people of First CRC of Waupun. Your willingness to take me, and now us, into your fold is not lightly received, and I thank the Lord for all we have accomplished together none the greater than any other but all fulfilling individual roles in his purposes in providing both physical and spiritual needs to so many and, in the process, being themselves blessed many times over. I have little knowledge and few indications of how much longer all of this will continue as it now is. I can only reassure you that I have done all I know to prepare Neen and Angel for that time when it does and thank you for your willingness to be a part of that transition. I hope you will feel free to communicate any of your thoughts and concerns with Neen whenever the time seems appropriate. Husband and wife as we are, and serving together as we do, there are still times of a cultural struggle in understanding and how things are done. For example, Filipinos are not known to be avid communicators, often leaving those in our culture wondering about things that seem of little concern to them. It is not that they are blasé but rather have a different priority and sense of what is important to convey. Neen and Angel can be best reached at my present ministry address: brobobphilippines@yahoo.com God keep us, and thanks! Brother Bob
