Worship Notes Today is the third Sunday of our Advent Conspiracy which calls us to proclaim Christ in how we celebrate Christmas. This week s challenge is to Give More. God s gift to us was a relationship built on love. So it s no wonder why we re drawn to the idea that Christmas should be a time to love our friends and family in the most memorable ways possible. Time is the real gift Christmas offers us, and no matter how hard we look, it can t be found at the mall. Time to make a gift that turns into the next family heirloom. Time to write mom a letter. Time to take the kids sledding. Time to bake really good cookies and sing really bad Christmas carols. Time to make love visible through relational giving. Sounds a lot better than getting a sweater two sizes too big, right?

Another good website is This morning s offering is for the Local Budget to pay the church s operating expenses, which includes the minister s salary and living expenses, church utilities, support staff wages, and other supplies and services needed to run the church. We thank the adult choir will be leading us in a Christmas Carol Sing this evening. They will sing various songs and the congregation will be given the chance to choose carols to sing. Please join us as we celebrate the gift of our Savior through song. This evening s offering is for the Education Fund to pay for Christian Education at CWCS for the children of the congregation. The band kids will be practicing this evening at 5:30 PM; Saturday, December 18 at 8:00 AM; and Sunday, the 19 th, after the morning worship service. Remember your instruments and music stands. The Cadets and GEMS will be roller skating at the Alto Community Center this Wednesday from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM. Any Cadet that needs a ride is asked to be at the CWC Elementary Campus no later than 5:15 PM. Your parent can pick you up at school afterwards at 7:45 PM. If you have any questions, call John Bronkhorst at Third Thursday Bible Study will meet this week, 6:30 PM, at Nathan & Jamie Fikkert (421 Neevel Avenue). The Sunday School children (pre-school through 5th grade) will practice on Saturday, December 18, at 9:00-11:00 AM for the Christmas program. Please go over your child's lines with them so they are comfortable with them. The Sunday School Christmas program, Keeping Christ in Christmas, will be presented on Sunday, December 19, at 7:00 PM. Saturday Night Alive will meet this Saturday, 6:30 PM, at Norm & Angela Buwalda s. We will be beginning a new study.

As part of our Advent Conspiracy, a special offering will be taken for Living Waters International during next week s morning service. Living Water International exists to demonstrate the love of God by helping communities acquire desperately needed clean water, and to experience "living water" the gospel of Jesus Christ which alone satisfies the deepest thirst. To learn more about this ministry, log onto The 6 th -10 th grade Catechism classes will not meet next week due to the Christmas program band practice. Connections/Friendship Bible Study will hold their Christmas family social at Bethel CRC, 6:30 PM, on Monday, December 20. Have a good soup recipe? It will be held June Please mark your calendars now to reserve these dates. School Notes Several small Bible Study groups from CWC will be doing a tip night at the Pizza Ranch tomorrow from 4:30 PM to 8:30 PM. Fifteen percent of the sales will go to these student groups, who are raising money and items for care packages to be sent to the army. The Pizza Ranch will donate $2.00 for anyone who brings items to donate for care packages for soldiers overseas. We would greatly appreciate your support! The Music Department of CWC would like to invite you to their Christmas Evening of Praise this Tuesday at the secondary campus gymnasium. We will start our evening by giving you the opportunity to help support the music department by enjoying a baked potato bar. Several toppings will be available to make your potato grand! Serving begins at 5:00 PM and will go until 6:30 PM. At 7:00 PM the various ensembles in the middle and high school will perform favorite Christmas carols along with various other songs celebrate the birth of our Savior. Please join us for this evening of music and song. To God be the glory! The elementary students of CWC would like to invite you to help them Follow the Star as they present their annual Christmas program. This will be held on Tuesday, December 21, at the secondary campus gymnasium. The program

7 begins at 7:00 PM; however, several students will be sharing a Christmas piano recital with us. You won t want to miss these students concluding their concert with the Hallelujah Chorus. We hope to see you there. The annual CWC Christmas with Care Bake Sale will be held in connection with the musical. Christmas brings an opportunity for caring and reaching out within our community. You can participate in a special way by showing support to our school families that are experiencing special needs. Donations would be appreciated. Check out all the goodies at the musical! Vernon, KY, March We will be working at Christ Outreach to the Blind, a camp that gives the blind and disabled the opportunity to participate in the camp experience. 8 This January, Home Missions and World Missions are inviting everyone into a 28-day prayer vigil to focus on praying for workers for the harvest: "Pray to the Lord of the Harvest." To help us celebrate this time, you can sign up to receive daily prayer requests and more specific information on each ministry in your for the 28-day period. Please pray that they will be assured of the Lord s leading as they undertake the added responsibilities of managing the ministry.
