4 Worship Notes This morning we continue the sermon series Tough Questions. Pastor Craig will help us delve into the scripture to tackle some of those troubling questions that Christians often face. Reminder: we will NOT be having Children and Worship this morning or next week. We will resume our normal schedule on November 7. If you have any questions please talk to Dominique Van Hill. This morning s offering is for Faith Promise to support missionaries and mission organizations as designated by our church Council. This fund currently supports Brother Bob s Outreach, Daryl and Mary Pfantz (Wycliffe Bible Translators), Scott Ritzema (Youth for Christ), The Union, Local Deaconal Outreach, Waupun Area Cadets, Waupun GEMS, and Pastor Ken Van De Griend (Leadership Resources International). This evening s offering is for Friendship Bible Study. Designed to share God s love with people who have intellectual disabilities and to enable them to become an active part of God s family, we join with Bethel CRC to provide monthly Bible studies/activities to three groups: Friendship Kids for ages 7-18, Friendship Adults, and (new this year) Connections a group for higher functioning adults. Verse of the Week: 1 John 5:12-13 He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life. Hunger and malnutrition are the number one risk to health worldwide. Through your Peter Fish bank contributions, you are helping fight global hunger and give families the training and support they need to overcome poverty in a lasting way. Please continue to read the World Hunger stories at your supper tables this week, and decide for yourselves if you will commit to doing your part to end hunger. Are you in? Pastor Craig and Dave Dykstra will represent Classis Wisconsin at the 2011 Synod. b. Laura Venhuizen has been elected as a board member for Faith Alive Publications. c. Classis agreed to loan The Garden $50,000 to purchase a building. 2. At her request, the membership of Andrea Van Wyk has been released to City Life Presbyterian Church of America in St. Paul, MN. 3. The Saturday Night Alive Bible Study group has been granted permission to meet at church on Saturday nights after the 6:00 PM deadline. 4. Pastor Craig and Elder Jack De Jager will serve Home Communion on Monday, November 15. We will be starting the Cadet Kick-Off this Wednesday, October 27, at the Josh Boss farm with a pumpkin carving contest and a campfire

6 and food. It will start at 6:30 PM and end at 8:30 PM. Be at school by 6:20 PM to get a ride out to the farm, or you may bring your son out to the farm. We encourage the boys to bring a friend or a parent to join in the fun. If you have any questions, call John Bronkhorst at Youth Group will have a lesson at 7:00 PM this Wednesday at the Union. Lunch: Tyler Jansma. Come One, Come All: Please join us at 12:15 PM next Sunday, October 31, for an all-church Pastor Appreciation potluck at the CWC secondary gym. Grilled hamburgers and brats, lemonade, coffee, and dessert will be provided. Please bring your own table service and one dish to pass (potatoes, beans, vegetable, salad, etc.). Council encourages members to express your appreciation to Pastor Craig and our Associate Pastors Norman Haan and Chaplain Hofman by way of a card, word of thanks or encouragement, etc. More Singers Wanted: Do you love to sing? Does the approaching holiday season, just make you want to burst out in song? If so, you sound like the perfect person to join the Waupun Area Communities Choir. The Choir is now practicing here at First CRC and is looking for more singers to join them in preparation for the Fall Choir Concert scheduled for Sunday, November 14, at 2:00 PM. (please note that the 7:00 PM performance has been cancelled). Don t be shy join the Waupun Area Communities Choir in song. New date, same fun time, and the Youth Group wants YOU there! The Senior Supper has been changed from its usual, pre- Christmas date. It will be held on Wednesday, November 17. Dinner will be served at 6:00, with a time of activity to follow. This is always such a fun evening of great food and multi-generation fellowship. School Notes A night out! Come out to the Pizza Ranch tomorrow night and put the CWC 8 th graders to work earning money for events throughout the year like their class trip and graduation.

7 This Tuesday marks the debut of the CWC music ensembles as they present their annual Fall Concert. Featured are the Band, the Junior Choir, Senior Choir and New Generation Singers. Please join us at the CWC gymnasium at 7:00 PM as we celebrate the holiness of God. A freewill offering will be taken. What provisions have you made in your estate plan for the future? Will you leave a Kingdom legacy behind after you die? Do you have a will or estate plan that will determine what happens to your minor children and their ongoing care? Central Wisconsin Christian and Randolph Christian are hosting workshops this Tuesday to provide participants with important tools and guidelines in these important areas. Estate Planning: Establishment of Your Legacy focuses on people 50 and over who are looking to examine their current estate plan to maximize stewardship and minimize taxes in a changing landscape. This will be offered as a brunch meeting at 9:00 AM at CWC and as an evening meeting at 7:00 at RCS. First Will Workshop: Getting Started on the Future is for couples and individuals who don t yet have a will or estate plan, and will involve walking through a questionnaire to prepare for meeting with your personal attorney. Pork Chop Supper set for November 6: Tickets are now on sale for the 12 th Annual Pork Chop Supper, hosted by the CWC Athletic Booster Club. The dinner will be held on Saturday, November 6, with serving from 4:30-7:00 PM. The menu includes a delicious thick-cut pork chop with all the fixings. Carry outs will be available that evening for those who choose to eat at home. Tickets can be purchased at the CWC office at a cost of $8.00 in advance and $10.00 at the door, with kids under ten just half price. Come out and join us for a great night of food and fellowship! CWC presents The Spitfire Grill : Something s cookin in the music room every day after school. The story of The Spitfire Grill, the only eatery in a small Wisconsin town, is coming to life as students prepare for the annual musical. Here s a wonderful story of acceptance, forgiveness and reconciliation that you won t want to miss. Dates of the performances are November at 7:00 PM each evening in the CWC gymnasium. Tickets will go on sale October 26 Adults for $6.00, Children under 10 for $5.00. For more information or to purchase your tickets, call the school office or stop by. Community Happenings Cancellation: First Reformed Church will not be hosting their Trunk or Treat event this year. They are grateful to those who were willing to help out and support the children of our community. Harvest Fun Night: 5:30-7:30 PM this Friday, October 29, at Living Hope Church, Hwy 33, Fox Lake. Come for a great night filled with free

8 games, prizes, face painting, crafts, food, and lots of FUN for all ages. A great Halloween alternative. The Waupun Fire Dept. is holding its 2 nd annual food drive for the Waupun Area Food Pantry on Saturday, November 6, from 9 AM to 1 PM at Waupun SuperValu Foods, Waupun Piggly Wiggly, and at the Fire Station. Food or cash donations are accepted. Youth for Christ will be holding their Fall Banquet, on Tuesday, November 16, in both Fond du Lac and Waupun. In Waupun, a luncheon will be at The Union, the YFC youth center, at noon. The evening event will be held at the Fond du Lac Holiday Inn at 6:30 PM. This year s events will feature speaker and comedian Mike Williams. Mike is a gifted communicator who will encourage and entertain as we celebrate how God is working in the lives of teens in the area. Join us for this special night of comedy and testimony. Music includes selections from Handel's Messiah; classical music performed by chamber strings, a brass ensemble, woodwinds and handbells. Green Lake Winter Blast, December 27-31, is an awesome winter event for youth to worship and grow in Christ together. Join over 300 youth (grades 6-12) at the Green Lake Conference Center during Christmas break for great praise & worship singing, small groups, a day at a water park or downhill skiing/tubing, bowling, ice skating, and a whole bunch more!
