9:30 AM Worship (*Please stand if you are able) Prelude Call to Worship (responsively) Congregation, what is your source of comfort and encouragement? Our help comes from the Lord, the maker of heaven and earth. With joy receive these words of greeting from God: Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ, who gave himself for our sins to rescue us from the present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father, to whom be glory for ever and ever (Gal. 1:3-4). Amen. Praise, O servants of the Lord, praise the name of the Lord. We love you, Lord, for you heard our voices; you heard our cry for mercy. How can we repay the Lord for all his goodness to us? We will lift up the cup of salvation and call on the name of the Lord. We will fulfill our vows to the Lord, in the presence of all his people (Psalms 116:13-14). Hymn of Praise: "I Love the Lord for He Has Heard My Voice G116 vv.1 & 4 God s Greeting and We Greet Each Other We Celebrate The Lord s Supper (responsively) Accompanist Cara Aylesworth Children & Worship Teacher: DVH Helpers: Gretchen Hoekstra Collin Huizenga Fellowship Coffee Bob & Michelle Mulder Greeters Kyle, Madison & Hope Homan Nursery Dan & Gladys Montsma Lynnae Smits Sound System Pete Vander Werff Transportation Jim G. ( ) Ushers Jason De Jager Nathan Fikkert Dan Montsma Adam Venhuizen Video Projection Mike Vander Berg Missionary Letters Wiebe B. to Daryl Pfantz + Larry D. to Brother Bob Gary D.J. to Chaplain Peter + Please pray especially for this missionary family this week. Brothers and sisters in Christ, the gospels tell us that God so love the world that he gave us His one and only Son, and that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. It also tells us that on the first day of the week, the day on which our Lord rose from the dead, He appeared to some of His disciples and was made known to them in the

breaking of bread. Come, then, to the joyful feast of our Lord for God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. We praise you Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that you did not withhold from us your Son, but presented him as a sacrifice of atonement, that we might be forgiven. All glory and honor are yours, O Fathers, forever and ever! And you have highly exalted your Son, and given him the name that is above all names. Therefore we sing your praises. *The Thanksgiving Lift up your hearts. We lift them up to the Lord. Let us give thanks to the Lord our God. It is right for us to give thanks and praise. With joy we praise you, gracious God, for you have created heaven and earth, made us in your image, and kept covenant with us--even when we fell into sin. We give you thanks for Jesus Christ, our Lord, by whose grace we may triumph over temptation, be more fervent in prayer, and be more generous in love. Therefore we join our voices with all the saints and angels and the whole creation to proclaim the glory of your name. We thank you for sending your Son to deliver us from the way of sin and death, by his obedient life, by his suffering and death upon the cross, and by his resurrection from the dead. All our hope is in him, and so we sing his praise The Institution We give thanks to God the Father that our Savior, Jesus Christ, before he suffered, gave us this memorial of his sacrifice, until he comes again. At his last supper, the Lord Jesus took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it [here the minister breaks the bread] and said, "This is my body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of me." In the same way, he took the cup after supper [here the minister pours the wine] and said, "This cup is the new covenant in my blood; do this in remembrance of me." For whenever we eat this bread and drink this cup, we proclaim the Lord's death until he comes (1 Corinthians 11:23-26). Therefore we proclaim our faith as signed and sealed in this sacrament: Christ has died. Christ is risen. Christ will come again.

Prayer of Consecration Lord, our God, send your Holy Spirit so that this bread and juice may be for us the body and blood of our Lord Jesus Christ. May we and all your saints be united with Christ and remain faithful in faith, hope, and love. Gather your whole church, O Lord, into the glory of your kingdom. Kindle the fire of love in our own hearts as it is in Christ s. Inspire us to serve you and one another. We pray in the name of Jesus, who taught us to pray saying, "Our Father who art in heaven Amen." The Invitation Congregation of Jesus Christ, the Lord has prepared his table for all who love him and trust in him alone for their salvation. All who are truly sorry for their sins, who sincerely believe in the Lord Jesus as their Savior, and who desire to live in obedience to him as Lord, are now invited to come with gladness to the table of the Lord. The gifts of God for the people of God! The Communion [the bread is served] Take, eat, remember, and believe that the body of our Lord Jesus Christ was given for the complete forgiveness of all our sins. [the juice is served] Take, drink, remember, and believe that the blood of our Lord Jesus Christ was given for the complete forgiveness of all our sins. Praise the Lord, O my soul; all my inmost being, praise his holy name. Praise the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits-- who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion. "Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and praise!" Prayer of Thankful Response With burning hearts we thank you, Father, for making Christ known to us in the breaking of bread and in the poured-out wine. Now may this meal enable us to increase in faith, persevere in hope, and grow up in love. May this witness to Christ's death draw others into fellowship with him so that all your children will be gathered in to share with us the joy of your salvation. Send us out from this place by your Spirit, our ears open to your Word, our minds alert to the calling you give us, our hearts full of zeal for your coming kingdom, our voices confessing the name of Jesus, our Lord and our God. Amen.

Profession of Faith based on Heidelberg Catechism Q&A32 and 55 (responsively) We give thanks to God for entering into covenant with us. Through his grace we are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that we may declare the praises of him who called us out of darkness into his marvelous light (from 1 Pet. 2:9). We accept our identity as the people of God. We confess that believers, one and all, are members of the communion of saints, and therefore share in Christ and in all his treasures and gifts. And we believe that it is our duty to use our gifts readily and cheerfully for mutual service and enrichment. As people of God in Jesus Christ we have received the gift of the Holy Spirit, who anoints us to be prophets who confess the name of Jesus, to be priests to present ourselves as living sacrifices of thanksgiving, and to be kings who strive against sin and the devil in this life, and we believe that we will reign with Christ over all creation, for all eternity. And now, beloved, let us bind ourselves with willing bonds to our covenant God and take the yoke of Christ upon us. This taking of Christ's yoke means that we are heartily content that he appoint us our place and work, and that he alone be our reward. Christ has many services to be done. Some are easy; others are difficult. Some bring honor; others bring reproach. Some are suitable to our natural inclinations and temporal interests; others are contrary to both. In some we may please Christ and please ourselves; in others we cannot please Christ except by denying ourselves. Yet the power to do all these things is assuredly given us in Christ, who strengthens us. Therefore let us make the covenant of God our own. Let us engage our hearts to the Lord, and resolve in his strength never to go back. Being thus prepared, let us now, in sincere dependence on God's grace and trusting in God's promises, yield ourselves anew to God. O Lord God, you have called us through Christ to be partakers in this gracious covenant. We take upon ourselves with joy the yoke of obedience and engage ourselves, for love of Christ, to seek and do your perfect will. We are no longer our own but yours. And now, O glorious and blessed God, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, you are mine, and I am yours. So be it. And the covenant which I have made on earth let it be confirmed in heaven. Amen. Hymn: "Christian Hearts in Love United" G513 vv. 1-2

Welcome We welcome our visitors and hope that you enjoy worshiping with us. If you are presently seeking a church home, we welcome you to join our fellowship. If you would like further information about our church, check out our website at or contact Pastor Craig ( ) or the church office ( ). The songs and responsive readings will be displayed on the video screens, but feel free to use the hymnals if you wish. The Celebration Hymnals (R) are located under the pew in front of you. Large-print bulletins and children's bulletins are available from an usher or the back sanctuary rack. Please feel free to check one of the Visitor mail slots in the narthex for additional materials. Worship Notes Today we focus on the covenant relationship we have with God and with each other. As a part of that you will find a letter in your mailbox talking about family visitation. Please read the letter and graciously invite the elders and deacons into your house when they call so that we can follow along with Hebrews 10:24: "And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds." It our duty and our privilege to work together, to strengthen each other, and to show love to one another as fellow believers in our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. This morning we celebrate Holy Communion. We welcome visitors in our midst to partake of the Lord s Supper with us if you are a professing member of a church that holds the Bible to be God s infallible Word and if you profess your faith in the triune God (Father, Son and Holy Spirit). This morning s offering is for the Benevolent Fund to minister to the needs within our community. Individuals who are experiencing financial difficulties due to unforeseen circumstances can contact one of the deacons to request assistance from this fund. This evening s offering is for Faith Promise to support missionaries and mission organizations as designated by our church Council. This fund currently supports Brother Bob s Outreach, Daryl and Mary Pfantz (Wycliffe Bible Translators), Scott Ritzema (Youth for Christ), The Union, Local Deaconal Outreach, Waupun Area Cadets, Waupun GEMS, and Pastor K. (The full name of the last Faith Promise recipient has been omitted for security reasons.) Verse of the Week: Hebrews 10:23-24 Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful. And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds.
