The evening offering for the month of April will go to Bible League. Worship Notes Reverse Offering for the Food Pantry: Today we will be passing baskets around which contain slips of paper with items printed on them of things that the Waupun Food Pantry is in need of. Please take as many slips as God calls you to take and if you want to bring extra items that would be great! There will e a shopping cart located in the entry for you to bring your items beginning next Sunday April 20 and also on Sunday April 28. Let s overflow the cart! This morning we celebrate the Triumphal Entry, when people lined the streets, welcoming the Great King. A short time later we find Jesus hanging

4 on the cross and declaring "It is finished". How can these two events fit together? Thursday evening join us at 7:00 PM for the Maundy Thursday service as we reflect on Christ s death. Next Sunday: Everyone thought that when Jesus died He had spoken His last words but that was far from the truth. Shocking the world we find Jesus defeating death and rising from the grave. He comes back to share the earth-shattering news that He is Lord of all. With compassion He speaks Mary's name, showing that there is no reason for tears. Jesus Christ is alive and he speaks our name today. He is risen!!! Next Sunday evening we welcome Alto CRC and Bethel CRC as we join in worship. The Randolph Community Choir will perform an Easter Cantata entitled "Written in Red." Please join us for this special service, followed by a time of refreshments and fellowship in the basement. This week pray for: - the turmoil spreading from Russia and the Ukraine - those dealing with abuse from their past - a realization of Christ's suffering for our sake - Beaver Dam CRC Give thanks for: - the plants popping out of the ground - new life in Christ - those who have shared their faith with us Council News The council has opened up nominations for elders and deacons. Anyone may turn in a nomination to any council member before the May 13 council meeting. April 28 was set for a special congregational meeting to vote on the Covenantal Education Plan. Everyone is strongly encouraged to attend. Family visits were reviewed. Vision Plan section Dynamic Fellowship was reviewed. Pastor Craig was granted time off for the period of June 3 through June 16 with the period of June 8 through June 16 to be counted as a vacation. Pastor will be in Haiti June 3 through June 7. Jim Groenewold reviewed Pastor s sermon Today You Will Be with Me in Paradise. Council has agreed to handing out the ministry survey on April 27 and to have it turned in by May 11. All members are expected to turn in the survey and to be an active part of Christ s body. The council asks that all annual reviews of church employees be done before our next meeting if possible.

We continue to give thanks that Gardie Ten Pas is recovering well from her double knee surgery. We also give thanks for the progress of Ann Hoekstra from her surgery. Ray Hofman suffered injuries from an accident at work. He is dealing with injuries to his leg and foot. Pray that his pain will be eliminated, that he will soon be back on his feet, and that God gives him patience as he waits. Marty Miedema had surgery this past week to remove a cyst from his spine. Pray that this will take care of his pain and give him more freedom. Church News The annual Easter Contata will be held in our church during the PM service on April 20. We would like to serve bars and cookies after this service and are in need of volunteers to bring bars as well as a few people to help serve. If you can help please sign-up in the foyer. All those graduating from High School & College please contact Gladys with your future plans.what college you will be attending or have attended and your major and/or occupation. Please join us even if you no longer or don't yet have children at CWC. The Education Committee will meet next Sunday, April 20 at 5:30 PM.

6 Bible study "What it Means to be Reformed" will meet at 5:30 TODAY. The Sunday School and Catechism classes have been collecting money for goats for World Renew. Mr. O'Donovan has agreed to kiss a goat if we collect enough money!! If you would like to help us collect money for goats and see Mr. O'Donovan kiss a goat, feel free to help us make our goal by Sunday, May 4. You may give the money to any teacher, student, or bring it to the basement after church! Thanks for your help!! Any questions please contact Bonnie Vander This Tuesday, April 15, 2014 is the 24th annual Bethany Banquet celebrating 30 years of Bethany Christian Services in Wisconsin. Our celebration will be held at Central Wisconsin Christian School with punch at 6pm followed by a delicious dinner at 6:30pm. Special music will be provided by the Friesland Men's Chorus. Your tax deductible donation will help with the ongoing ministry of Bethany in our Fond du lac office. We as a congregation will again being helping with the Bag Lunch Program at the Community Table the week of June 30. Watch for future announcements on what items will be needed and when to sign up to help. VBS --- Though it may feel like winter still we are starting to make plans for VBS. We are excited to learn more about Jesus and his early life in Holyland Adventures - Hometown Nazareth!!! This VBS will be set up a lot like last years but will be here at First CRC and not at the Union. We truly appreciated everyone's help last year and look forward to your return. The Annual Meeting for constituents and supporters of Central Wisconsin Christian School will be held on Tuesday, April 22 nd at 7:00 PM. The agenda will consist of the election of new Board members, approval of the budget and tuition schedule for , and reports by committees and administrators. Parents In Action will have their spring business meeting following the conclusion of the annual meeting. All grandparents and special friends of Central Wisconsin Christian are invited to join us for our special Grandparents Day Celebration on Friday, April 25 th. It s a wonderful chance for you to experience Christ-centered education and celebrate our partnership in the lives of kids. This concert will be held on Tuesday, April 29 th in the Crusader Centre beginning at 5:00pm. At 5:30 a light supper will be served for a free will donation. Beginning at 6:00pm the students will be performing the various band, piano, and choral selections they have been working on in preparation for their upcoming Music Festival. Lord help me to believe I look down at the child so small, He really is no king at all. He is just a carpenter s son, How can he be the promised One? Lord help me to believe I gaze up at Calvary s Hill, where Christ s body hangs so still. Where is the king you promised us, The one who the people made such a fuss. Lord help me to believe. Then I gaze at the empty grave, Then I knew I was the one he had to save. He came to earth in that manger stall, And then to die to save us all. Lord help me to believe.
