Congratulations to Kaytlin Bronkhorst, Becca Smits, Lynnae Smits, Josie Stahmann, Dylan Vander Berg, and Adam Venhuizen. Please join us in the basement for some cake and refreshments after the morning service. Next Sunday: Psalm 51 starts out as a lament, asking God for help but this lament soon turns into a desire to worship God. Without realizing it our cries for help from God are ways of saying that we wish to be closer to Him, to come into His house to worship Him.

4 In a few weeks (June 19) we will celebrate the professions of faith of Emily Aalsma, Joe Bresser, Annie Lemmenes, and Taylor Sweetman. As a gift and encouragement in their faith we will present them with a Bible. They are sitting on the table in the narthex. As a part of their faith family we ask that you highlight a favorite Bible passage so that when they read them they will remember that they are part of a greater family. Pray for this young couple as they begin their lives together. As you pray this week please remember these people in your prayers: - Laura Ten Pass and family as she again deals with cancer. Pray for emotional strength as they face another round. - Dorothy Schouten as she received word of stage 2-3 kidney failure. Pray that as she awaits testing in August her kidneys may begin functioning better and she might have peace.

Church News There will be an Education Team Meeting tonight at 7:15 PM. Kids who are finishing up Kindergarten will have a special graduation TODAY in Children and Worship. This will mark their transition from Children and Worship to joining with the full congregation in worship. Reminder: the 8th annual Waupun Lions Golf Outing is Friday, June 10. Shotgun start begins at 12:00 noon at Rock River Country Club in Waupun. Entry fee of $260 per team includes 18 hole greens fees, golf cart, prizes, and fish fry dinner. There will also be a silent auction. We are looking for a team to represent our congregation. If you would like to participate please contact Brian Ten Pass at All proceeds from the outing go to the construction and remodeling project of the Christian Home. Four members of our church will be getting married this summer, and you have a chance to be a part of their celebration. Eric Homan, Austin Huizenga, Adam Venhuizen, and Trevor Zonnefeld will be celebrating God's gift of marriage in the months ahead. There are boxes in the narthex for each of the couples. You can share nonperishable foods, household items, or gift cards and place them in the boxes. Please bring your items before the Council's Couples' Shower on June 17th. Let's show that First Cares!!!! VBS will be at Bethel CRC again this year and will be from 12:30-3pm, June Sign-up sheets are in the narthex for both helpers & children attending. Please consider helping out this year. We've had a great response so far with volunteers! You can also sign up online at our churches website. 7 Proclaiming Evidence for Truth THIS WEEK'S CREATION MOMENT Seven Flagellar Motors in One LORD, I cry unto thee: make haste unto me; give ear unto my voice, when I cry unto thee. Psalm 141:1 Try as they might, evolutionists are powerless to account for the microscopic rotary motor that propels bacteria through fluid just like a powerboat skims along the surface of a lake. But if the bacterium's flagellar motor troubles evolutionists, they must really be puzzled by the fast-moving MO-1 bacterium. After all, its hair-like flagellum isn't powered by just one motor. It uses seven motors all hooked up in parallel! If the MO-1 bacterium were the size of a small speedboat, its proportional speed would be ten times the speed of sound. You'll need a microscope to actually see one. The bacterium measures only about 225 nanometres wide, so you'd need fortyfour of them side by side to amount to the width of a single grain of talcum powder. According to a team of researchers working in France and Japan, the flagellar apparatus of marine bacterium MO-1 is a tight bundle of seven flagellar filaments enveloped in a sheath. The motors are arranged in an intertwined hexagonal array similar to the thick and thin filaments of vertebrate skeletal muscles. There are also twenty-four fibrils in the sheath that counter-rotate between the flagella to minimize the friction of high-speed rotation. From the Scriptures we see that God moves quickly when we call upon Him in prayer. God is never far from us, of course. But He is never nearer than when we draw near to Him in prayer.
