2 A warm and loving welcome to everyone as we gather on this God s holy day to worship Him. A special welcome to all of our guests and visitors we are glad you have joined us! This morning we share worship and the Lord s Supper with the Cambodian Fellowship congregation. Our Sunday School children will be offering praise in song as well. Pastor Chad will bring the message from God s Word. This evening we will be celebrating GEMS Sunday with the girls participating in the service and Pastor Marc bringing the message. We will continue our study of the Heidelberg Catechism with Lord s Day 10. This is the day that the Lord has made! Let us rejoice and be glad in it! 11 OUR CHURCH FAMILY While Dirk Hollebeek was released from the hospital last week, he still continues to need God s healing mercies for a full recovery and that he will be able to return home to Stacey and their children. Pray for encouragement and patience for all of them. Ruth Timmer remains under Hospice care at Medilodge. Shirley Nivison spent time at Holland Hospital with breathing difficulties. She was able to return home again on Tuesday. She is quite tired and weak pray for renewed health and strength for her. Gail Zylstra was in Ann Arbor on Wednesday for an eye exam. Pray for good reports and results for her. Chet Dreyer is still scheduled for GI surgery on December 10. May God continue to encourage them as they prepare for that surgery and time of recovery. Continue to offer prayer on Jett Ellerbroek s behalf that God would bring him to true repentance and a desire to find healing in Him. Please note that Inez Kuipers has been moved to Room #405 at Hallmark Living. Keep Inez in your prayers as she makes that adjustment. We offer our heartfelt Christian sympathy to the family and friends of Alma Krol who went to be with the Lord early last Sunday morning. We give thanks for her many years of life and for her testimony of God s love and faithfulness to her. Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints CHURCH ANNOUNCEMENTS CHILDREN S WORSHIP will meet as usual this morning. The children are dismissed as indicated in the order or worship. Please see Youth Corner on page 15. COFFEE FELLOWSHIP will follow our morning worship service. Hosting: FG#3 (Craig Yonker/Dick Hengst) Cookies are needed for Coffee Fellowship each week. Please leave your donations in the kitchen. VOICES OF PRAISE will rehearse this morning upstairs in the Choir Room following worship. SUNDAY SCHOOL and CATECHISM classes will also meet again this morning. Please see Youth Corner on page 15. ADULT SUNDAY SCHOOL will meet downstairs in the Fellowship Room this morning. All information/contributions to the December issue of THE CHANNEL must be turned in today. Our monthly volunteer time at FAMILY HOPE CENTER will be this Tuesday, November 20, from 4:30 6:00 p.m. There is a sign-up sheet at the information table at the back of church. There is NO CHOIR REHEARSAL this Wednesday evening. 10
12 CHURCH ANNOUNCEMENTS cont. We will be gathering for Worship on Thanksgiving Day morning at 9:30 a.m. to give thanks to God. A sheet has been placed in your mailboxes so that everyone young, old and everyone in between can submit a list of things for which you are thankful. You can fill this out as an individual, as a couple, or as a family. Extra copies are available in the church narthex When complete, place in the designated box in the narthex, hand it to one of the pastors, or simply a list to info@centralavecrc.org. The items will be used for our Thanksgiving prayer time. You must turn your sheets in today!! There is still time to grab a PETER FISH to fill for your donations to Renew Ministries. They will be collected on Thanksgiving Day. Also, please take note of the letter from the Deacons that were placed in your mailboxes last week regarding our THANKSGIVNG DAY ENVELOPES for offerings. Next Sunday will end the FOOD/ SUPPLY DRIVE for My Brother s House III. Please note that the table to receive your donations has been moved to the hallway by the elevator. Holiday bags have been placed at the back of church to receive SHUT-IN CHRISTMAS GREETINGS. Please note that the deadline for putting your cards in the bags is Sunday, December 9. After the evening worship service on the 9th the young people will be delivering them to the members. There is a need for DRIVERS/ DELIVERERS for Wednesday Activity Night dinners to a few of our shut-in members and those who might appreciate a meal brought to them following surgery or illness. If you might be willing to take a turn, please call the church office. Hopefully we can design a rotating schedule so that turns for everyone would be minimal. Thank you! The Rise and Roll Fundraiser to benefit the Cadet Club and foster children is in full swing! There is a catalog and a stack of order forms on the Welcome Desk at the back of the sanctuary. You can also see the catalog and print order forms on the church website. You can either turn your order form in to a Cadet or you can put it in the box marked Fundraiser. Children gather in the Children s Center downstairs immediately following morning worship and are dismissed at 11:45 a.m. from their classrooms. Catechism for grades 6-12 will meet from 11:00 to 11:45 a.m. in their various assigned classrooms in the Ministry Center this morning. CADETS: Cadets will not meet this week but will resume with a regular meeting on Wednesday, November 28.
