Luke Ferris They all ate and were satisfied. (Luke 9:17) What do we eat that truly satisfies us? Perhaps fresh bread, a thick steak, or great fish? Our Lord comes into this world to fulfill our deepest hunger with his satisfying love. Last week we suggested asking ourselves each day, What has brought me joy? What has brought me sadness? This question also asks, What leaves us satisfied or unsatisfied? When we examine ourselves with these questions, we find our Lord behind our satisfactions. And our dissatisfactions find us longing for his presence. Our Lord brings us joy and his absence leaves us sad. Our Lord s feeding and satisfying the five thousand is a huge miracle. But this miracle pales in comparison with the gift of himself in the Last Supper which we celebrate at Mass. Help us Celebrate! 5th Anniversary Celebration for Father Luke! The Pastoral Council is planning a gathering to celebrate Father Luke s 5th Anniversary of becoming a priest. The celebration will be held on Saturday, June 25, 2016 downstairs in the cafeteria. Social Hour will begin at 5:30 with Dinner being served at 6:30. Admission to the celebration will be by advanced ticket sales only. The tickets are $8.00 and includes a chicken dinner, potatoes and gravy, corn, roll and dessert along with two drink tickets. Tickets are available for purchase in the Parish Center office with Linda Mathieu. There will be a Virtus Safe Environment training session on Wednesday, June 8 at 6:00pm in the Kersten Conference Room. 4 Religious Education Registration Register NOW to reserve your child s spot. This includes children who will enter the First Grade in fall. New students should be registered in person at the parish center. 1st 3rd child 4th plus $80 each no charge 8th Graders Return from Mission Trip The 8th grade class traveled to Chicago to serve a meal in the Franciscan Outreach Soup Kitchen. Approximately 115 meals were served. For most of our students this was their first experience in an urban setting and seeing homeless people. We are grateful to our chaperones Father Luke Ferris, Megan Neveau, Lyle Tucker and Carol Corn for guiding these young people through this important experience. Furthermore, we wish to once again thank our Gold Sponsors, each giving $500, the Council of Catholic Women and Luigi s Pizza and Pasta.
