2 Dear Religious Education Families: I truly hope all of you are having a great summer. Unfortunately, for all of us it s flying by rather quickly and soon we re going to be back into our fall schedule. Last week most of you received a letter in the mail with the Calendar and informational letter for the year. Unfortunately, I did not list the time for Registration at Camp Tekakwitha. We are having that event from 1:00 until 4:30pm on September 22. Father Tom will say Mass at the Chapel for all Religious Education families at 4:00pm. Religious Education classes start on September 26 First through Fifth Graders from 6:30 until 7:30pm and Sixth through Eleventh Grade from 6:30 until 8:00pm. We brought back several family nights that will be informative and fun. We have many great events planned this year. We are still in need of catechists and volunteers to help teach our youth. When I was at the Life Teen Conference in Arizona, I truly learned who the greatest catechist s and volunteers are. They are those people who are willing to share their life story with young kids today, not only in their faith but also in everyday life. They are those people that want to make a difference in the world by giving one hour a week to students to share their experiences. They show students that with faith and love in God, anything is possible. I believe if you re reading this right now, you are that person. I promise you, we have everything ready for you. There is no preparation on your end. Please give the parish office a call if you have any questions. Teaching in front of class is something you may have never done, but it could be a very rewarding experience if you bring one kid closer to Christ. Food Collection The St. Vincent de Paul Society thanks everyone for donating to the July Food Collection. Approximately 138 pounds of food and household items was collected and distributed to SAFPARC and St. Martin Food Pantries. We appreciate your continued support to help the needy in our community. In July, SVDP helped five families with clothing, one family with furnishings, four families with utilities and five families with rent. Our financial expenditures were $1050.
