We are in need of individuals who are interested in being friendly visitor companion volunteers in this community. This would include spending time with hospice patients who have a limited life expectancy. Common activities of companion visitors often include reading to patients, going for walks, playing cards or just listening! Volunteering and training is very flexible and is based on your availability. Heartland Hospice is also looking for individuals to share their musical talents! Volunteers would visit nursing facilities where hospice patients reside and provide music therapy. Our patients truly appreciate a friendly face and comforting smile from a kind visitor! 3 Our goal this year is $39,038. So far $33,197. Catholic education gets a boost from the Bishop's Appeal Sacred Heart Catholic School is seeking monthly radio ad sponsors. For thousands of kids, going to religious education at their parish is a chance to develop a deeper relationship with Jesus. These kids are taught by faith-filled educators who have been given quality tools to do the job of teaching our young people. At the center of creating these tools is the diocesan Education Department. If you have not made a gift to the Bishop's Appeal, please prayerfully consider the impact it has on our parishes, Catholic schools and communities. More information to follow. 3 Cemeterian Sacred Heart Catholic Parish is seeking to fill a parttime position to handle the sales, computer entry, and maintenance at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Shawano. The successful candidate will possess a high school diploma, or equivalent, two years of maintenance experience, computer experience, and sales skills. A pastoral manner to work with grieving families is vital. This year-around position will work a maximum of 15 hours per week and will be on call evenings and weekends to meet with families or conduct burials. Sunday, April 21 6:00-8:00pm in the Youth Center Have you ever noticed that during the Easter season the first reading is drawn not from the Old Testament stories of salvation, but from the Acts of the Apostles, Luke s exciting sequel to his classic namesake work of salvation? These readings give us the opportunity to see the growth of the early church, full of miracles and conversions and daring escapes. This weekend, come to the LiGHT Gathering and learn about this great period in church history in a way you ve never thought of it before! This is much like the RENEW session we had several years ago in our parish and is an opportunity to learn a little more about your faith, establish some new friendships, and grow in the parish community. The groups are designed to meet for six sessions and each session would be a discussion and learning interaction for participants. Each session is about 1 ½ hours in length. We are looking to accomplish this during the month of May and shortly into June. Small groups will meet at different times as determined by the hosting facilitator of the group. You are encouraged to attend. Call the Center to sign up at This is a fantastic opportunity for you to not only share time with fellow parishioners but to learn a little about yourself in our Catholic Journey.
