2 Dear Parishioners, This week October 1 through October 3, I will be a ending the Priest Congress with Bishop Ricken in Manitowoc. Therefore, Communion Services with be held Tuesday and Wednesday morning s and our Children s Mass will be moved to Thursday. This is not only so I can be back to offer the Mass but it is also so we will be able to celebrate the Feast of St Francis. I will bless anyone s pets a er Communion who would be willing to bring them to church, (though all animals would need to remain outside during Mass.) St Francis had such a strong devo on to our Lord but he also had a great love for animals. May God Bless all of his creatures as we begin this new season of Autumn. Father Tom Farrell Fr. Please consider lending your time and talent to working with others in bringing a joyful and vibrant music ministry to our parish. God needs you! The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults is a process through which adults become full members of the Roman Catholic Church. The RCIA is based on a lifelong faith formation model. There are several stages involved in the process beginning with a period of inquiry to find out more about Catholicism. As individuals are ready, the parish celebrates certain rites (rituals) that signify the end of one stage and the beginning of another. Please come join Deacon Jim Lonick starting Tuesday, October 9 in the Gathering Space to complete your journey in joining the Catholic Church. Please call and ask for Lori if you have any questions. Classes are Tuesday evenings from 6:00 to 7:30pm. Baptism Preparation Fr. Tom will have Baptism preparation on the second Thursday of each month at 6:30pm. The next meeting is October 11. An explanation about the Sound System The current wireless microphones that are part of our sound system broadcast on a frequency that has been auctioned off for private use and is no longer available for us to use. This is not specific to our church as there are many different organizations using this frequency as well. But, because the frequency is no longer available for public use, we could incur fines for using it. We also may be surprised by unwanted broadcasts interrupting our worship services. We ve received a quote for upgraded digital microphones which totals $7,150. While they will probably not last as long as the roof, we re hoping that they will last as long as the previous ones (about 15 years).
