The staff here was prepared and ready to welcome our 112 students to our building on Tuesday, September 4. The classroom routines are getting established and the staff are developing strong expectations as well as a family atmosphere that the students are thriving in. We are excited about the many new students we have this year. They have brought a fun, new dynamic to our building. We are equally joyful about the new families joining our school community. We look forward to the many activities that take place here at Sacred Heart and the idea that all of our families will be here to help us celebrate. As the month of September is already coming to a close, we look ahead to October and the many fall activities planned by teachers and staff. How wonderful is it that we will be celebrating our 35 Anniversary of the Community Wide Halloween Party this year? Please come and see what that excitement is all about on Wednesday, October 24. This letter tells about the nature of the Church and shows us the great inheritance that awaits us as sons and daughters adopted fully into the family of God. SAVE THE DATE Women s Book Club The Women s Book Club will begin meeting again on Monday, October 1, meeting every other Monday evening from 7:00-8:30pm at the Center Youth Room. We will be reading and discussing Jesus Approaches: What Contemporary Women can Learn About Healing, Freedom and Joy from the Women of the New Testament, by Elizabeth M. Kelly. This book includes stories of New Testament women whose encounters with Jesus freed them to flourish in life, and the stories are supplemented with moving accounts from Kelly s own life and from the lives of other women like us. As a group we share our faith, enjoy fellowship and pray together. St. Vincent de Paul Society On Sunday, September 29, the Sacred Heart Conference of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul will attend the 10:45am Mass as a group. The Society has existed in Sacred Heart Parish since Founded in Paris, France in 1833, the largest lay Society of Catholics in the world came to Green Bay in 1918 and functions around the core elements of Spirituality Friendship and Service to the needy. Our Paris Conference is looking for new members, people who are interested in helping the poor and needy in Shawano. We meet on the first Thursday of each month, and for breakfast after the morning Mass on the first Friday of each month. We seek to grow in spirituality and then like to see the face of Christ in those people we meet and offer financial help with food, clothing, and money.
