2 Deacon s Corner As we were camping not too long ago, I woke up very early one morning, just as the eastern sky was starting to lighten up. I woke to the sound of a single bird singing his song. As the light grew other birds joined in, singing their songs. They were all different, but they made a great melody. This week, we hear that God has formed us in our mother s womb. Just as he has made John the Baptist, He has made each and every one of us. To sing our song. To play our part. To point to his son Jesus. John was the first voice, just like the first bird of the morning, pointing to Jesus. We are called to join in the chorus, and in our own way give glory to His son. If this is something that you would like to do, please contact the Parish office at Prizes Needed The Children s Carnival Games at our annual Church Picnic on Sunday, August 12 will be run by Sacred Heart Catholic School and Youth Ministry this year! We are once again asking for donations of kid s prizes and Wal-Mart Scrip cards to purchase prizes for the games. Please mark items or gift cards donation for kid s game prizes. Donations can be dropped off in the Parish Center from now until the picnic. The generosity we received last year from this request was truly amazing, so thank you so much in advance!! You can purchase tickets and place them in a bucket for a chance to win. We are in need of items for this portion of the auction. If you would like to donate a basket for this raffle, please tell them when you drop it off at the center that it is for the Bucket Raffle. Thanks for all the continued support. We are blessed to have so many wonderful parish members to help us out year after year. 3 The craft booth needs hand-crafted items for our picnic. Sacred Heart Parish 25th Annual Golf Outing Sunday, August 26 Golden Sands Golf Course Call Golden Sands to register Community Dinner CCW will be serving at the Community Dinner at Presbyterian Church Hall on June 26. We have done this each year since the beginning of this community meal. We ask for your help in either setting up, serving the meal, or cleaning up after the meal. If you are unable to help but would like to contribute a dessert, that would also be greatly appreciated. We begin setting up on June 26 at 4:00. Governor Walker attended the funeral of a close family friend at Sacred Heart Parish, and was gracious enough to stop by Sacred Heart Catholic School for a chat and photo with Mrs. Aleta Young, school principal, and showed his support of the great Catholic school.
