Thank You! For those who don t know, this weekend (Apr. 7/8) will be my last weekend here at St. Paul. After 41 years in Greensburg, Jim and I will be moving to Ohio to be closer to our daughters and their families. Throughout these years, I have experienced the love of this faith community in so many ways - in times of joys and sorrows, in times of worship and prayer and for that I am grateful! I have been blessed in finding this wonderful family of God so many years ago, and will continue to keep you in prayer, as I hope you keep me and my family in yours. May the Risen Lord bless you abundantly! Marie Konopka OBLATES OF SAINT BENEDICT HAVE MEETINGS APRIL 15TH Presentation on Benedictine Spirituality will be at 3:00PM in the St. Vincent Seminary Brownfield Room 202. The speaker will be Brother Albert Gahr, OSB; whose topic is Stewardship and Sustainability. The meeting of the Oblates (Latrobe Deanery) will be at 6:45PM using the same room in the Seminary. 3 NEWS FROM THE PEWS A few parishioners have talked about people they know who need some help. Both parishioners in need are elderly. Here are the notes that were written, I was wondering if any of you might be able to help: #1: Help for the Helpers: It has come to our attention that some parishioners who are caregivers to loved ones, are also in need of help themselves. If you have a heart for those in need and feel that the Lord is asking you to give a little more of yourself, you may consider giving an hour or so occasionally to sit with one of our sick parishioners. The caregiver may need to pick up a few things at the grocery store or drug store. You being with their loved one gives them peace of mind while they are away. Many of them are offering to pay for your time. Please pray about this to see if the Lord is asking you to offer your services. If so, please call the office and give Jim your name and phone number. #2: Transportation to Church for a Shut In: We have also been advised that one of our parishioners living in Nature Park Commons needs a ride to and from Church on the weekend. She can walk but uses a cane, so she needs minimal help getting around. If you think you can do this please call the Office and give your name and phone number to Jim. MARRIAGE CONFERENCE IN PHILADELPHIA APRIL 21 The St. John Neumann Chapter of Catholics United for the Faith will sponsor Matrimony: Rediscovering its Truth April 21 from 10 a.m.- 6:15 p.m. in the Cathedral Basilica of SS. Peter and Paul. Cardinal Raymond L. Burke will be the principal celebrant at the 5:15 p.m. Mass. Admission is $50 per person and includes lunch. In this Sunday s Gospel reading, taken from the conclusion of John s Gospel, the author tells us that he has chosen to record these events so that you may come to believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that through this belief you may have life in his name (20:31). The letter of John echoes this idea by saying that [e]veryone who believes that Jesus is the Christ is begotten by God (5:1) what we might refer to as being born again.
