Saint Paul Youth Ministry is focused on forming our young people through the study and practice of their faith and to challenge them to embrace the life of the church through prayer, service to our community and social activities. FLIGHT 93 WE PRAY & WE REMEMBER The Knights of Columbus, Great Meadows Council 9584 of Farmington are sponsoring a Memorial Mass for the victims of Flight 93 on Sunday, October 21st at 11 AM. Following the Mass, we will car pool and travel as a group to the Flight 93 Memorial. We are asking all of our local parishes to join us as we pray and we remember the heroes of Flight 93. Lawrence's Celebration has been rescheduled for October 14 at Rizzo s from 3:00-8:00PM. All details remain the same: Joe Grkman Band will provide musical entertainment for us, and Rizzo s will provide the food. Menu for the evening will be: Italian Hors D oeuvres, Italian Style Roasted Chicken, Cheese Ravioli, Homemade Lasagna; also provided will be Pizza, Italian Salad, Hot Vegetable, Bread & Butter, and Dessert Table. Tickets for the dinner will go on sale again October 1-8, K OF C HONORS VETS WITH DINNER-DANCE AT ST. BRUNO The Knights of Columbus Council #1480 will host a dinner-dance, Honoring Our Veterans, Nov. 9 at 6 p.m. in the St. Bruno Parish Hall. Approximately 70 local veterans will be honored. A limited number of dinner tickets are available to the public for $20 each. Sponsorship of a veteran is $25. Contact Amy Fiaschetti in the St. Bruno Parish office at or afiaschetti@dioceseofgreensburg.org for tickets or information about getting a Veterans Sponsor Form. The name of both the veteran and the sponsor will be included in the dinner program. The sponsorship deadline is Oct. 15. SAINT VINCENT DEPAUL SOCIETY ANNUAL FUND DRIVE As the hot days of summer are winding down, there are great expectations of cooler days and nights.and the vivid colors of Autumn leaves. We also turn to a worldwide celebration that started many years ago in 1810 in Munich, Germany, namely: OKTOBERFEST!!!! We want to extend this sort of unofficial celebration to the needy in our community. This collection replaces the Lenten Food Appeal. The funds that are collected on October will continue to be used to supplement the food distribution programs at the Our Lady of Grace Food Pantry. Your generosity will be greatly appreciated. MISSION: To help and serve the less fortunate among us. BAPTISMS: As your family grows and you prepare for the arrival of your child, remember to plan for his/her Baptism with the Parish Office. They saw people who were not of their company casting out demons and doing other works such as Jesus had done. Jesus points out that no one who does a good deed in his name can be opposed to him at the same time. He goes on to point out the importance of the little ones, : the poor, simple people, children, the meek ones who are not important in the world. It is to them that he was sent, not to the wealthy and the self-righteous. He underscores the importance of small works done in faith, as well as big works like driving out demons. Anyone who gives you a cup of water... because you belong to Christ... will surely not lose his reward (Mark 9:41). VINCENT SEMINARY The Oblates of St. Benedict affiliated with St. Vincent Archabbey will meet at 6:45PM on Sunday October 21. The meeting will be in Brownfield Room 202 of the Seminary. The agenda will be the 10th of a series of discussions from the book 74 Tools for Good Living by Fr. Michael Casey. Extra books are available if needed. Also, the monthly presentation on Benedictione Spirituality will continue on the same day, in the same location but at 3:00PM. The topic is The Social Media and Benedictine Spirituality, Brother Placid Sellers will be the presenter. To appreciate either topic one need not have attended a previous REST IN PEACE... We offer our condolences to our previous Pastor, Father Thomas Federline, for the death of his father. Mr. James Federline passed from this life on Monday September 24, Any cards can be sent to Father Tom at his current parish in Indiana PA.
