3 Parish Ministries Monthly Adoration The Eucharist is the Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of Christ and He calls us to spend time with Him in prayer and adoration. Each month, we have a 24-hour Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament. We encourage you to consider spending some time with Christ, present in the Blessed Sacrament. Morning, afternoon, and evening time slots are available. Our next 24-hour adoration is June 5-6 As Jesus said to his apostles who slept while he prayed in the Garden prior to his arrest and crucifixion, Could you not spend one hour with me? Sallot August 17 Women s Day of Spirituali-TEA September 9 Rummage Sale September 16 Harvest Dinner/Auction October 14 Eagle Project Support Nick Ortiz, from our local Boy Scout troop, is working on his Eagle Scout Service Project. He plans to provide 250 backpacks for the homeless filled with daily essentials which will be distributed through the Illumination Foundation. The backpacks will include toothbrushes, combs/ brushes, shampoo and soap, a blanket and other useful items. He and his fellow scouts are collecting funds to provide these items at a table on our plaza after the morning Masses today, May 28. Thank you for the support you can give to him and the homeless he will serve. A note from Father Ted: I am away this weekend following an out-patient surgery last Wednesday to a correct a hernia. The surgeon has instructed me to take a full week for recovery, so I will be back at the parish late this week if all goes well. Please keep me in your prayers. San Francisco Solano VBS & Better 55 & Better is a parish social ministry for parishioners 55 & over. Social activities are held in the SFS Parish Center. 4 Parish Ministries San Francisco Solano Bible Study Mondays/Thursdays 7:00 PM 8:30 PM With Evening Bible Study Scripture plays a central role in our Catholic faith. The entire first half of Mass is the liturgy of the Word, with a homily applying the weekly scriptures to our lives. Yet, how many of us have actually read and studied the Bible and know what s in it? San Francisco Solano s Evening Bible Study is a multi-year course: The Bible Plain and Simple. Our mission is to discover the Bible systematically, verse-by-verse, Genesis through Revelation, utilizing a combination of audio and video taught by renowned literary scholar, Dr. Bill Creasy who has been called a Catholic Bible teacher extraordinaire! All attendees will need to register at the Logos Bible Study link found on the SFS parish website link for this study of Luke that will last until June 8. 5 Corazón On Saturday, May 13, parishioners traveled to Tijuana, Mexico to construct a home. The family was required to participate in earlier Corazon build s to earn the ability to be considered to receive a home. The family was very appreciative as their current living space floods when it rains. 5
