The changes come from the office of the Bishop. You must attend one retraining session before the changes are implemented on August 19. Several sessions will be offered over the next month, so you can choose one that fits your schedule. Please attend re-training on one of the following dates: Tues., July 24 Wed., July 25 Tues., July 31 Thurs., Aug. 2 Mon., Aug. 6 Tues., Aug. 14 All training sessions are at 7:00 PM in the church. Catholic Men s Fellowship 2 Catholic Men's Fellowship meets on the second and fourth Tuesday evenings of each month. Dinner is at 6:30 PM and the program begins at 7 PM in the Parish Center. It is an opportunity for men to open their hearts and strengthen their faith and friendships. Please consider visiting one of our upcoming meetings. 3 Parish Ministries Children of Christ s Heart Children of Christ s Heart is partnering with Family Support Network of Orange County to facilitate a Parent-to-Parent Support Group meeting on the second Wednesday of each month. The group is intended for anyone offering care and support for a child or young adult with special needs. In addition to a spiritually based, emotionally supportive environment, we will offer presentations on topics of interest and assistance with IEPs, Regional Center, California Children s Services and CalOptima. Child care is not provided, but you are welcome to bring your child with you if you provide the supervision. Social activities are held in the SFS Parish Center. For information, contact Mike Bula at August 3, First Friday Mass & Brunch, 8:30 AM Bring a brunch item to share. August 17, Friday, 6 PM Bring an appetizer, salad, side dish, main dish or dessert to share. Program information is pending. Eucharistic Adoration In an effort to bring you more opportunities to spend time with our Lord in adoration, we are re-evaluating our current adoration schedule. Until we discern what works best, we will have adoration only on the 1st Monday of each month. Thank you for your patience. Our next 24-hour adoration will be August 6-7. If you have questions regarding Adoration or would like to commit to a scheduled time as an adorer, please contact Maura Byron at or at 5byrons@cox.net. The San Francisco Solano Friday morning and Monday/Thursday evening Bible study groups are taking a summer break but will resume the week of August 6. Save the Date San Francisco Solano s semi-annual Blood Drive will be held next weekend, Sunday, July 29, from 8 AM until 2 PM in the basement of the Youth Faith Formation building. Silent Auction is Still open The Fiesta Silent Auction is online this year! The only thing you need is an address! Bidding will continue online until 8:30 PDT on Sunday, July 22. You do not need to be present at the Fiesta to participate or win! To bid: Logon to the silent auction site: Click on an auction item picture OR- click Login in the upper right corner. You will be prompted to set up an account. Click Create an account now Make sure to enter your full name and phone number when you create your account. Throughout the auction, bid information will be sent to the address you enter. A confirmation will be sent to the address you provide. Click on the link in the to activate your account. Browse the silent auction items and choose one to bid on. Enter your bid. You can enter an Exact bid (specific dollar amount) or a Proxy bid (your bid will be automatically increased to keep you the top bidder until bidding reaches your max limit). You will receive updates if you are outbid so you can adjust your bid and win that item! Once the bidding closes, all winning bidders will be notified via . Invoices with winning bid amounts will also be sent to the winners. Payment can be made through the silent auction website (credit card only) or in person between 8:30 and 10:00 on Sunday, July 22, at the Fiesta Silent Auction booth or in the parish office during regular business hours. 5

6 Congratulations! Parish Ministries Knight of Columbus St. John Paul II Council Greetings All! Your Knights of Columbus Council is planning our calendar for the year. We will be having Pancake Breakfasts, a dance, a Fish Fry, and other activities. In addition, you will see us out in the community with Habitat for Humanity, Soup Kitchen, Walk for Life, and other events. Lastly, your KOC are present in many SFS ministries as ushers, Eucharistic Ministers, hospitality, food bank, and Corazon volunteers and this weekend, the Fiesta de Solano! We are here to serve, so let us know how we can help!
