2 Letter from the Pastor Holy Mystery D ear Friends, In today s world, we observe a profound loss of an awareness of mystery. With the Internet comes a vast amount of information at our fingertips. But does the Internet promote wisdom? Science has yielded vast swathes of knowledge about ourselves and our world. We have become specialists in the knowledge of the visceral, physical, material world. But in the specialization of knowledge, have we lost touch with the fundamental contour of life, which is mystery? Life is so great a mystery. God is so great a mystery. The life of faith is so great a mystery. The person of faith must be at home with mystery. The person of faith lives under great mystery. There is a freedom a release from a burden, as it were in our confessing how little we know, how little we understand, and how limited our words are in the face of mystery. The most important contours of life beauty, virtue, and wisdom, love, sacrifice, relationship, and faith are touched by the deepest mystery the mystery of God, the mystery of Divine Love Holy Love and, for the most part, we are left speechless. Yes, speechless! But post-moderns, uncomfortable with mystery, are, consequently, also uncomfortable with silence with their own thoughts, if you will. Find me a restaurant where there is no distracting music blasting away! Listen to your life. See your life for the fathomless mystery that it is. In the boredom and pain of it no less than in the excitement and joy, find your way to the holy and hidden heart of it, because in the last analysis, all moments are key moments, and life itself is grace (Frederick Buechner). The RCIA program (Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults) is a program which provides information and instruction to those seeking to learn about the Catholic Church, what it is we believe and why we believe it. The new group will being meeting Monday evenings in September from 7:00PM until 9:00PM in the parish center. Those participating will receive the Sacraments of Initiation (Baptism, Confirmation, and First Eucharist) at the Easter Vigil. Parish Center Donor Plaque In the coming months, we will be working on the preparation and installation of a donor plaque for the Parish Center, similar to the donor plaques we have in our church, which will list all parishioners, all donors, who have contributed to the parish capital campaign/building fund for our Parish Center. Eventually, we will list the names of all donors in the parish bulletin for parishioners review.

Monday Evening Bible Study The Book of Jeremiah Have you wanted to study the Bible, but don t know where to begin? Are you looking for ways to study the WORD of GOD, with the hope of knowing him better? Have you wanted to study the bible with a literary scholar, but your work schedule presents a conflict? Are you an adult learner who require visual effects but doesn t want homework? If you ve answered, YES to these questions, the Monday Evening Bible Study Group welcomes you to join them!! Fellow parishioners will continue its study of the BIBLE as a unified literary work, rooted in geography, emerging from history and is the inspired WORD of GOD with the Book of Jeremiah. 6 Parish Ministries Cursillo at SFS It is an exciting time for Cursillo in South Orange County and at SFS! Team Formation meetings for Cursillo # 585 and #586 will be held at SFS. This is the 1 st time that Team Formation will be held here and it is an excellent time to sign up to work a Cursillo Weekend. Maybe it has been a long time since you have been on a Cursillo Team. Now is the time to SIGN UP!! Team Formation is every Wednesday evening beginning on Aug. 27 Oct. 15. The Men s weekend will be Oct. 23 Oct. 26 and the Women s Weekend will be Oct. 30 Nov. 2.
