2 NOVEMBER 13, 2016 THIRTY-THIRD SUNDAY OF ORDINARY TIME Hymn of Thanksgiving... (10 am) Anima Christi... Gerald Near Anima Christi, sanctifica me. Corpus Christi, salva me. Sanguis Christi, inebria me. Aqua lateris Christi, lava me. Passio Christi, conforta me. O bone Jesu, exaudi me. Intra tua vulnera absconde me. Ne permittas me separari a te. Ab hoste maligno defende me. In hora mortis meae voca me. Et iube me venire ad te, Ut cum Sanctis tuis laudem te, In saecula saeculorum. Amen Soul of Christ, be my sanctification; Body of Christ, be my salvation; Blood of Christ, fill all my veins; Water of Christ's side, wash out my stains; Passion of Christ, my comfort be; O good Jesus, listen to me; In Thy wounds I fain would hide; Ne'er to be parted from Thy side; Guard me, should the foe assail me; Call me when my life shall fail me; Bid me come to Thee above, With Thy saints to sing Thy love, World without end. Amen. Translation by Cardinal John Henry Newman... (Sun. 5 pm) With You By My Side... David Haas Marian Antiphon... Salve Regina... #882 Concluding Hymn... JUBILEE YEAR OF MERCY Next Sunday, November 20, marks the close of the Jubilee Year of Mercy, a year spent celebrating the wondrous mercy of God and the many ways we share his mercy with those around us. At the beginning of this Jubilee Year,

4 NOVEMBER 13, 2016 Pope Francis wrote: Mercy is a key word that indicates God s action towards us. He does not limit himself merely to affirming his love, but makes it visible and tangible. Love, after all, can never be just an abstraction. By its very nature, it indicates something concrete: intentions, attitudes, and behaviours that are shown in daily living. The mercy of God is his loving concern for each one of us. [...] This is the path which the merciful love of Christians must also travel. As the Father loves, so do his children. Just as he is merciful, so we are called to be merciful to each other. Though this Jubilee year is ending, the need for mercy in our world is not. Carry these words and the graces of this past year forward through the Christian witness of your life. Be merciful to each other. Continue to celebrate God s mercy with us at mercy.adw.org and catholiccharitiesdc.org. SEVENTH ANNUAL WHITE MASS The Seventh Annual White Mass, celebrating the giftedness of all people with special needs, will be held next Sunday, November 20 at 10:00 am at the Cathedral of St. Mathew the Apostle (1725 Rhode Island Ave NW). EXHIBITION ON SAINT THOMAS MORE In a new landmark exhibition, God s Servant First: The Life and Legacy of Thomas More, the Saint John Paul II National Shrine in Washington, D.C. presents the life, martyrdom, and legacy of the 16th century English philosopher-statesman whom Pope John Paul II named the heavenly Patron of Statesmen and Politicians. The exhibition also explores the connection between Thomas More, the Carroll Family of Maryland, and the foundations of religious liberty in America. It features over 60 artifacts from England and the United States, including numerous period objects from Stonyhurst College in the United Kingdom that have never been exhibited in the United States. The exhibition runs through March 31, 2017 and is sponsored by the Knights of Columbus and The Christian Heritage Centre at Stonyhurst. The Saint John Paul II Shrine is located at 3900 Harewood Road, NE, Washington, D.C.
