PASCHAL TRIDUUM: EASTER SUNDAY OF THE RESURRECTION OF THE LORD ST. MAXIMILIAN KOLBE CATHOLIC CHURCH ARCHDIOCESE OF CINCINNATI APRIL 21, 2019
Joyous Easter blessings and welcome Dear parishioners: May you know how much you are appreciated. Home-comers, travelers, strangers, and guests: May you find rest and hospitality. The bereaved, who are missing a loved one this Easter: May you be deeply comforted. Our neighbors who are of another faith tradition: May the bonds between us be strengthened. For all of us who gather today for the Eucharist: May we all find new hope and inspiration to come back again and again. It is a privilege to be together to celebrate the Resurrection of Christ and to encounter God s love among us! If you would like more information about St. Maximilian Kolbe Parish, check out or call the Parish Office at Page 2-
PASCHAL TRIDUUM: EASTER SUNDAY OF THE RESURRECTION OF THE LORD April 21, a, 10a, and 12 Noon Preludes Alleluia #1 INTRODUCTORY RITES (8a, 10a Complex Gym, Noon Children s Choir) Psalm 118: This is the Day This is the day that the Lord has made: let us rejoice and be glad, alleluia! Give thanks to God, for he is good, God s mercy endures forever! Let the house of Israel say: God s mercy endures forever. The Lord s right hand is lifted up, the hand of the Lord is mighty. I shall not die, but live to tell the marvelous works of God. The stone which the builders rejected has become the cornerstone. This is the work of the Lord: How wonderful in his eyes! Text: Psalm 118. Music: Scott Soper. -Page 3-
(10a Choir) Christus Vincit Christus vincit! Christus regnat! Christus imperat! Ipsi soli imperium, gloria et potestas, per immortalia saecula saeculorum. Amen. Christ has conquered! Christ reigns! Christ is King! To him alone be majesty, glory and power, Throughout everlasting ages. Amen. Text: Latin hymn Music: Medieval chant, arr. Anthony J. DiCello. (Noon Children s Choir) Soli Deo Gloria Gloria soli Deo, Gloria! cantamus Et in terraque coelo laudamus. Glory to God alone, Glory! we sing And on earth highest praise we give. Text: R. Stevenson Music: Dan R. Edwards Incense is used at the 10a and Noon Masses in the church because of the solemnity of this occasion and is an ancient symbol representing our prayers rising to God. (Psalm 141) At the beginning of Mass, the altar and the cross are incensed as principal symbols of Christ. During the liturgy, Christ s manifold presence is affirmed and honored by the incensation of the Book of the Gospels, the gifts of bread and wine, the presiding priest, and the assembly. -Page 4-

Invitation to Prayer Priest: All: Pray, brothers and sisters May the Lord accept the sacrifice at your hands, for the praise and glory of His name, for our good and the good of all His holy church. Prayer over the Offerings The Eucharistic Prayer Now, the center and high point of the entire celebration begins, namely the Eucharistic Prayer itself, that is, the prayer of thanksgiving and sanctification. The priest calls upon the people to lift up their hearts towards the Lord in prayer and thanksgiving. He associates the people with himself in the prayer that he addresses in the name of the entire community to God the Father through Jesus Christ in the Holy Spirit. Furthermore, the meaning of this prayer is that the whole congregation of the faithful joins with Christ in confessing the great deeds of God and in the offering of Sacrifice. Preface Dialogue -Page 14-
Holy, Holy For Masses in the gym, the assembly then remains standing during the entire Eucharistic Prayer. As the presiding priest genuflects after the showing of each of the Eucharistic species, all make a deep bow from the waist in adoration. The Mystery of Faith -Page 15-
Conclusion of the Eucharistic Prayer COMMUNION RITE The Lord s Prayer The Rite of Peace The priest greets the people, and all respond: -Page 16-
Litany During the Fraction of the Bread Invitation to Communion Priest: All: Behold the Lamb of God called to the supper of the Lamb. Lord, I am not worthy that You should enter under my roof, but only say the word and my soul shall be healed. During the Communion Procession, those members of other faith communities and all who will not receive Holy Communion are invited to remain in place, joining us in sung prayer. -Page 17-

Song of Praise Alleluia, He is Coming! Please join in singing as you feel comfortable. I looked up and I saw my Lord a-coming down the road. Refrain: Alleluia, He is coming! Alleluia, He is here! Alleluia, He is coming! Alleluia, He is here! I looked up and I saw my Lord a-weeping for my sins. (Refrain) I looked up and I saw my Lord a-dying on the cross.
