He wote: If one does any study whatsoeve of denominational ministies on U.S. esevations and Canadian eseves, my guess is that finding a successful one that has lasted fo 100 yeas-- and one which has basically stayed in the same hands of a single, small denomination -- would be difficult, if not impossible. I may be the only peson in the denomination to say it, but I honestly believe that Chistian Refomed Chuch s Rehoboth effots- -and those effots haven t been without thei shae of immense poblems- -ae not only notewothy, but nigh unto incedible. 2 Incease in Numbes A Testimony to God s Faithfulness R By: Caol Beme-Bennett, Inteim Managing Diecto ehoboth is flouishing in the land just as ou namesake vese pomises (Genesis 26:22), God is blessing Rehoboth with many childen this yea. We have seen an oveall incease of almost 50 students fo the new school yea, By the time we count up the new additions thoughout the gades and include the youngstes just stating school fo the fist time in Pe-K and Kindegaten, we have 130 new students. This temendous oveflow has caused some ovecowding and need to shift classoom spaces aound. We added a thid section of 4th/5th gade and a new teache. We have a couple of classooms without enough seats and thee ae epots of students having to sit at the teache s desk o on the windowsills. But, we don t mind. We say, Let the little childen come. We hope to offe Chistian education to the families who desie it, and one way o anothe, God povides. Last sping, we began paying fo an incease of 20 students and took a step of faith to ceate a budget based on 430 students. The LORD not only answeed that paye, He did moe than we deamed and ou enollment now stands at 489 the lagest eve! And, God blesses us in the pocess. Read on to hea the stoies and enthusiasm of paents and students new to Rehoboth. They have caught a glimpse of the diffeence a Chistian education makes, they tell stoies of ou beautiful divesity, and they ae quickly becoming ou good will ambassados. The fifty new students that we have been so blessed with this yea have come fom many diffeent cultues, backgounds, and walks of life. Hee is what they have to say about thei Rehoboth expeience. The students at Rehoboth teat each othe with love and espect. The teaches show that they cae about the students and that they have faith in them and want to help them each thei goals. Eveything they talk about they elate to God. Since being hee, I have seen my attitude towad God changing as well. I used to blame Him fo a lot of the difficulties I had to go though, but now I want to get close to Him. I undestand that what He says is the ight way to live. -Daysah Chino, 9th gade 2 My family is poud of me because my gades have been going up since I ve come to Rehoboth. I ve been woking hade. The teaches assist you when you need it and help you to undestand things. -Samantha Duan, 6th gade The teaches and staff at Rehoboth believe in paye. Since attending my daughte ealizes moe the impotance of that, and is often the fist one to encouage ou family to pay. Samantha seems to be moe independent, woks hade, and is happy to go to school. -Angela Aviso (Mothe of Samantha Duan) Vigoously Academic Beautifully Divese Thooughly Chistian

3 Ya at eeh; blessings and geetings to all of you! As the Inteim Managing Diecto of Rehoboth Chistian School, I am honoed to seve my Savio, Jesus Chist at Rehoboth. This is a big yea fo Rehoboth Chistian School. Not only do we have a ecod numbe of students enolled and new pogams in Agicultue, the Pond, and Afte School, we also ae ceating a new stategic plan, evising Social Studies and Bible cuiculum, mapping ou cuiculum on new softwae, and pepaing fo a site-team visit fo Chistian Schools Intenational acceditation. Management Team Repots: I am thankful fo my teammates in this endeavo Jeff Banaszak, Diecto of Finance and Opeations and Rick VanTil, Diecto of Advancement. The othe membes of ou administation also ae leading Rehoboth to accomplish ou big vision and mission. Loetta Smith, Diecto of Admissions, is a faithful communicato with ou paents; Dee Logteman, High School Pincipal, challenges us to ethink school; Jim Holweda, Elementay and Middle School Pincipal, is dedicated to the school and willingly seves whee we need him most; Bob Ippel, Diecto of Afte School and Summe Pogamming, continues to einvent himself and the pogam to best meet the needs of ou leanes; and Jeff Engbes, Athletic Diecto, finds ways to utilize ou new Spots and Fitness Cente to bing multitudes of new people onto the Rehoboth campus. Ou school theme is fom I Cointhians 13, These thee emain, Faith, Hope, and Love. And the geatest of these is Love. We stand fim in ou Chistian faith, full of hope based on God s pomises, and eady to love abundantly. Thanks to the faithful suppot of ou paents and donos, Rehoboth ended the ecent fiscal yea with a modest cash suplus. Moe tuition aid than planned was povided to ou families this past yea due to a decease in oveall family income and the local economy. Howeve, God was faithful and povided almost the exact same amount we needed in new contibutions. Ou enollment numbes ae healthy and gadually climbing. The High School and Elementay gades ae full and have waiting lists. The Middle School is getting close to capacity. We ae blessed to have such faithful Chistian families in this aea who eally appeciate the oppotunity to send thei childen to a Chistian school like Rehoboth. We continue to be challenged to aise the funds fo capital needs, such as new school buses and epais to ou 108 yea old campus. But based on the ecent faithfulness of ou paents and donos we ae confident that God will povide fo all ou needs. Thanks to you, we have completed a successful school yea. Now you advancement team is at wok on this new school yea, God has blessed us with this big incease in students at a time when the economy is still lagging, especially in ou aea of the county. So not only do ou students and families need paye, but Rehoboth needs you payes. Yes paye is what we do in Advancement as we face inceasing financial needs. Just as we have moe students than eve, we will now have to aise moe tuition assistance than eve. Caol Beme-Bennett Inteim Managing Diecto Jeff Banaszak Diecto of Finance & Opeations As God has done moe than we could have imagined, we now look to ou futue with geat hope and excitement. We envision a new playgound that is safe and encouages ceative play. We think of a new high school that not only doesn t leak o have cacks thoughout, but launches ou students into 21st centuy leaning. We know that thee ae countless ways to make Rehoboth Rick VanTil, S. Diecto of Advancement even geate, and we challenge ouselves to make them happen. Even as the economy dives those in povety deepe into hadship and those with elative wealth to take moe caution in thei giving, we do all of this in faithful sevice to ou Savio. P.O. 4 Pond and Geenhouse Pogam Updates POND This sping we eceived an encouaging amount of suppot fo ou new geenhouse pogam. Since that time, we have been able to use the funds eceived to launch and expand both ou pond and geenhouse pogams. Rehoboth wants to thank you fo you geneous suppot and let you know how you contibutions have been used to benefit the 489 students at Rehoboth Chistian School. Fo yeas the Rehoboth pond sat untouched, letting cattails invade, and its only visitos wee the migating bids. But duing the fall of 2008, the atesian well-fed pond was evived and has now become a valuable outdoo classoom fo Rehoboth students. students also keep up the day-to-day maintenance of the pond. In esponse to being involved in physical labo by the pond, sophomoe, Anthony Buke, says, We use ou minds all day in the classoom. It is now good to use ou hands and wok. Though the use of voluntee goups and ou students, the physical appeaance of the pond has changed significantly since that time. Tails have been expanded to the geenhouse and futue outdoo classoom, fish have been added to the pond, and bidges have been built ove the dainage unoff. But the biggest change in appeaance is the addition of students to this outdoo envionment. The science depatment at Rehoboth Chistian School has incopoated the pond into all aspects of leaning. This pond offes students and the community a way to take cae of the ceation God has blessed us with. Students ae able to wok on life skills of had wok and commitment, including pactical skills of how to use a shovel and wheel baow; and emove dead limbs of tees. Ultimately, students ae leaning how to be good stewads of the land God has entusted us with. The pond also acts as a geen space to dangle you feet in the wate while woking on homewok o a tanquil place to ead and obseve. The pond is a place fo investigative science fo students in all gades. Middle school students ae exploing the diffeent attibutes of the pond and investigating the cause of these chaacteistics though studying the soil and wate of the ecosystem. The younge students use the pond to lean about obsevation and change, while the high school biology students study micoscopic life in this hands-on, outdoo classoom. Rehoboth students have taken owneship fo the impovement to the pond, fom tail cleaing to tee timming and bidge building. The The new pond cuiculum is advancing science at Rehoboth Chistian School. Students ae ceating an aea whee they can have fun, exploe, and discove the diffeent pats of God s wondeful ceation and how to be good stewads of the land though cultivating native ecosystems. Chis Huizinga, middle school science teache and leade of the pond poject, says, This pond offes students and the community a way to take cae of the ceation God has blessed us with. We can use this poject in many beneficial ways; positively affecting the envionment, the ways we lean, and ou attitudes towad the land. See how you can get involved and continue to advance this poject at: 4 Vigoously Academic Beautifully Divese Thooughly Chistian

5 GREENHOUSE In the sping the idea of a geenhouse cuiculum on Rehoboth s campus was a mee thought, but thanks to the geneous suppot of the Rehoboth suppotes, ou geenhouse poject has made geat pogess. The fist phase in the building pocess is pepaing the land fo the futue geenhouses. Students in the new Hoticultual class have taken an active ole in pepaation by gading the land and amending the soil with manue fom Rehoboth families fams. Students have planted sage and abbit bush, as well. The hoop house (ou geenhouse model) is not up yet; but the constuction of the hoop house is only one pat of the poject. The Hoticultue class has been doing extensive eseach on how to lay out a fam to pepae fo the building pocess. Also, they ae eseaching which cops typically gow well in the high deset envionment and with what soil, so they can best use thei new geenhouse. Students ae physically leaning how to pepae fo the geenhouse, too. Both the Hoticultue and Woodshop classes ae laboing daily to see this poject succeed. They have laid out the house, dug dainage ditches, built gates, and constucted the wooden end walls fo the hoop house. The new cuiculum hopes to povide an expeiential leaning envionment whee students can expeiment with ideas and shae with othes in the community what they have leaned. We hope to povide a demonstation fam whee diffeent agicultual ideas can be displayed and tested, and to show students the basic skills needed fo gowing food in this aea. And this is only the beginning. The futue of this pogam is full of pomise and excitement. We hope to continue expeiential, handson leaning that engages students mentally and physically, while also getting them involved in thei geate community. Cuent Needs/ How to Get Involved: Pond needs: A shed needs to be built offeing an on-site stoage location fo educational mateials and tools. A class meeting aea with benches needs to be built to offe a centalized leaning aea whee the teaching can take place and the hands on pat of the lesson can happen vey close by. Geenhouse needs: In time, it would be nice to build diffeent geenhouse designs. Financial suppot towad the needed mateials would be appeciated. Due to the natue of gowing plants, we will need money to pay fo supevision of the pogam yea ound. Lage wate collection baels o tanks. Sola o wind poweed pumps to move wate fom ou collection ponds to the gaden. P.O. Box 41 Rehoboth, NM

6 S u m m e Ex p e ie n c e s Thee ae only a few things that affect etenity. Such was the case as 35 Navajo, Zuni, Hispanic, Afican Ameican and Anglo students boaded a bus and headed to the mountaintop. In this case, the mountaintop is in the San Benadino mountains nea Idyllwild, CA. Hee, evey June, a coss cultual camp is held with middle school students fom Califonia and New Mexico. The camp is appopiately named Dunamis which is the Hebew wod fo POWER! The lifechanging expeience of being at Dunamis is poweful as campes ae invited to give thei lives to the Lod in fist time commitments o ecommitments. They accept the invitation in doves, life is foeve changed and etenity is affected! Thee ae some who might say that attending a camp filled with 200 mid-schooles would be analagous to suffeing with the stomach flu o some othe hoible malady. But to see the incedible things that happen at camp would quiet even the most vocal naysayes. In fact, the middle school age is pointed out by eseaches as being cucial to a child s acceptance of the Lod and beginning the Entada The chapels helped me get to know God moe and they helped my spiitual life. My cabin mates wee like my sistes we had a lot in common. ~Skylynn Olvea Camp Dunamis jouney of faith. Fo that eason alone, Camp Dunamis, is vital to ou midschool students spiitual lives. Dunamis campes ae given a healthy balance between fun activites such as the swimming pool, cafts, field games, cabin times with fellow campes, and woship times in chapel and small goup devotions. Enveloping all these activites ae the payes offeed by a dynamic team of paye waios that cove evey inch of the camp in paye. As a esult, Dunamis is unleashed, gace abounds, and God s spiit woks in incedible ways. Evey aspect of the camp is caefully and thoughtfully planned by a committee that woks tielessly thoughout the yea to pepae this mountaintop expeience fo campes. Ou students lives have been changed fo etenity though this summe camp. As a school we ae excited to see ou students gowing spiitually and commiting thei lives to Jesus Chist. Calvin College s Entada Scholas Pogam povides ethnic minoity students with an oppotunity to live on campus fo fou weeks out of the summe and expeience what college life is all about. These students take classes togethe, live togethe in the doms, have discussions about acism, and attend fun activities. Two cuent Rehoboth students, Ben Chee and Tonisha Begay, took advantage of this pogam this summe. Hee ae some of thei eflections on thei expeience: I took an English class duing Entada, and while it is not my favoite subject, it taught me to be a bette wite. I also leaned bette time management skills that will benefit me both at Rehoboth and in college. Entada exposed me to diffeent foms of woship fom many diffeent cultues. It povided me with the oppotunity to attend diffeent types of chuches and see diffeent ways that people paise God. ~Benjamin Chee 11 I applied to the Entada pogam because I didn t have anything to do fo the summe, and I wanted to see if Calvin College was a college fo me to conside. Entada made me ealize that Calvin has an amazing Chistian atmosphee, and I would eally like to attend college thee. Entada encouaged me to find myself and what I want fo my life. Afte this expeience, I know that I want to have a close elationship with God and with my family. ~Tonisha Begay 11 6 Vigoously Academic Beautifully Divese Thooughly Chistian

13 Annual Repot fo By: Jeff Banaszak, Diecto of Finance and Opeations The fiscal school yea ended on June 30, 2010 and we finished the yea with a modest opeating cash suplus. I am now in my thid yea at the school, and I am always amazed at how tight the budget is and how we managed to finish each yea at a vitual beak-even point. This is a cedit to the many devoted staff and paents who help us maintain a fugal opeation - and also to the many donos who help ou families affod tuition. A few highlights fom the yea: and declaed that ou financial statements pesent faily, in all mateial aspects, the financial position of the school. A copy of the complete audit is available by contacting Jeff Banaszak, Diecto of Finance & Opeations at , o by at jbanaszak@csnm.og. Rehoboth Chistian School Opeating Budget fo We aised and povided $778,549 in financial aid to ou families. This allows us to have an income-based financial aid model and allows families of any income level to be able to affod a Chistian school education fo thei childen. In many ways, ou financial aid model is the aspiation of Chistian schools acoss the county. In the past yea, we eceived donations fom ove 7,000 individual donos an amazing numbe especially in light of a vey tough economy. Afte seveal yeas of planning and development we ae thilled with the completion of Phase I of the Rehoboth Village. A host of voluntees and local contactos conveted cumbing oads, failing sewe and wate lines, and dilapidated houses, into a magnificent new neighbohood. Seveal teaches have bought emodeled houses and made long-tem commitments to Rehoboth. We have also sold seveal lots and the emaining 13 lots will soon be listed on the maket. We wee ove budget in two aeas last yea epais on ou buildings and school bus epais. The aging High School building was especially poblematic with needed oof epais and cacking in the floos and ceilings. We have nine school buses that tavel hundeds of miles each day acoss bumpy esevation oads, and we ae in a constant stuggle to keep these buses opeating and to efesh the fleet with newe vehicles. We established a new endowment fo the Spots and Fitness Cente and now have $1 million invested at the Banabas Foundation. Rehoboth Chistian School eceived a full audit fo the 12-month fiscal yea ending June 30, Ou auditos wee pleased with ou ecods P.O. Box 41 Rehoboth, NM
