TOUR THE MOCO RESOURCE RECOVERY FACILITY The St. Jane Frances de Chantal Environmental Committee invites any interested adult to join in a tour of the Resource Recovery Facility and Composting Facility in Dickerson, Maryland, on Thursday, July 19. Leave from the St. Jane parking lot at 8:45 am, or meet at the Dickerson facility. The Resource Recovery Facility tour will begin at 10:00 am, and lasts approximately 1.5 hours; the Composting Facility, begins at 1:00 pm, and runs approximately 30 minutes. Bring a lunch for the break between tours. For more information and/or to reserve a spot on the tour, call Maureen Wilkerson at This tour can only accommodate 30 people. The Resource Recovery Facility processes over 1,500 tons of solid waste daily and provides up to 55 megawatts of energy daily which is enough power to fuel 40,000 homes. IN OUR LITURGY & MUSIC MINISTRIES Visit the Music Ministries page at for information on the many music ensembles at St. Jane. USHERS NEEDED We are in need of additional ushers to minister at the 12:00 noon and Sunday 5:00 pm Masses. The usher ministry does not require a weekly commitment and can coordinated with your personal schedule. Training is provided on site. If interested, call the parish office to leave your name. IN OUR FAITH FORMATION PROGRAMS Visit the Faith Formation page at for information on the various programs, registration forms and calendars FAITH FORMATION REGISTRATION Registration for next year s Faith Formation year is under way. We have classes for Pre-K3/4 through eighth grade, as well as High School Teen Ministry. Pre-K3/4 and Kindergarten meet on Sundays during the 10:00 am Mass. Grades 1 8 meet on Tuesdays from 6:00 7:15 pm. Classes SUMMER WEEKDAY MASS SCHEDULE The weekday (Monday through Friday) 11:00 am Mass has been suspended during the St. Jane de Chantal School summer vacation. The 11:00 am Mass will resume on Tuesday, September 4.

3 for first Communion and confirmation are also being formed. A child is not automatically enrolled in the sacraments of first Communion and confirmation. If you would like to enroll your child in the sacraments or would like more information, contact Sally Daniel at sally.daniel@stjanedechantal.org or Register your child at HIGH SCHOOL YOUTH MINISTRY REGISTRATION High School Teen Ministry is a great way for our teens to stay in contact with friends they have made while at St. Jane s School or CCD, as well as to stay connected to the parish. High School Youth Ministry is not CCD for high schools students. While there are times we focus on a particular topic of faith and life, everything we do is to help the students grow in their faith and live it out, through things like social activities, service opportunities, parish involvement, and retreats. High School Teen Ministry meets about three times a month, mostly on Sundays from 6:00 8:00 pm, with an occasional outing outside of that time. There is a teen leadership team who assists with the youth ministry. Register at CCD TEACHERS, CO-TEACHERS, & ADULT LEADERS CCD teachers, co-teachers and High School Teen Ministry adult leaders are needed for next year. These are vital ministries in the parish so that our young people can learn and grow in their faith. You do not need to have teaching experience to teach the faith, only a love of the faith and a love of being with children. Training and help will be given with materials to use, in-service, as well as a guidebook on planning lessons. The Virtus child protection background check, which can be completed in the summer, must be completed before volunteering can begin. MARYLAND CATHOLIC CONFERENCE CANDIDATES SURVEY This Tuesday, June 26, Maryland voters will go to the polls to cast their ballots in the primary election. QUO VADIS CAMP FOR YOUNG MEN From July at Mount Saint Mary's Seminary in Emmitsburg, MD, the Office of Priest Vocations' annual Quo Vadis Camp is for mature high school age young men who desire to grow in holiness. The four-day camp includes daily Mass, prayer, Eucharistic Adoration, recreation, sports, and fraternity. Bus transportation is available. FIAT CAMP FOR YOUNG WOMEN At Fiat Camp (fiat is Latin for Let it be done ), young women, who are rising ninth-twelfth graders, will be challenged to embrace the unique gifts given to them and to discover the dignity of their vocation as a woman. The camp will be held July at Mount St. Mary's University in Emmitsburg, MD, and will include prayer, talks, discussions with religious sisters, games, and sports. IN OUR AREA CATHOLIC BUSINESS NETWORK-DC The Washington, DC Catholic Business Network is a dynamic organization of downtown DC professionals dedicated to advancing access to Catholic Education. POPE FRANCIS [The two episodes in today s Gospel] a healing and a resurrection share one core: faith. The message is clear, and it can be summed up in one question: do we believe that Jesus can heal us and can raise us from the dead? The entire Gospel is written in the light of this faith: Jesus is risen, He has conquered death, and by his victory we too will rise again.
