If you have not yet said goodbye to Andrew, please do so after the 10:00 am, 12:00 noon, or 5:00 pm Masses this weekend. He will be missed! In my former post as the Associate Music Director at the Shrine before coming to St. Jane s, I know of the unique demands of working at such a highly visible institution in the Catholic Church. I have no doubt that Andrew s musical skill, talent, and personality will comfort and inspire countless pilgrims at the Shrine and beyond. Many of you have been asking me how you can be of help during this time of transition. We currently are looking to hire someone to fill our part-time Assistant Music Director position, but this process may take some time, and in the meantime, I will be handling the duties of both the director and assistant director positions. What would be of immense support and assistance to me would be your willingness to join a choir or to serve in a liturgical ministry. Some of our ministries are spread too thin, and thus require additional amounts of time on my part to assign and reconfigure schedules and music lists. Now is the time if you have ever considered joining a Music Ministry (Parish Choir, Family Choir, Handbell Ensemble, Children s
2 SEPTEMBER 3, 2017 TWENTY-SECOND SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME Choir, Cantor, Instrumentalist), or Liturgical Ministry (Lector, Usher, Eucharistic Minister, Altar Server, Altar Guild, Children s Liturgy of the Word Leader), please fill out one of the appropriate forms located in today s bulletin and place it in the collection basket during Mass or bring it to the Parish Office. Your willingness to support these ministerial programs with your time and service will enable me to not have to spend large amounts of time attempting to fill vacant positions in the schedule or to worry about trying to prepare adequate music for our many parish liturgical celebrations. Thank you! IN OUR PARISH Can t find the bulletin you brought home from church? Want to keep up on what s happening in the parish even when you are away on vacation or sick in bed? Visit our parish website, to view a copy of the bulletin and for more information on parish events and organizations. WELCOME NEW PARISHIONERS St. Jane de Chantal Parish welcomes those who have recently registered in our parish: Michael & Amanda Gujda Family Yoshihiro & Silvia Noguchi Family Henrique Vissotto & Sandra Zacarias Breuer Family If you attend Mass at St. Jane Frances de Chantal regularly, we encourage you to register as a member. It is a great time to check in with folks you have not seen since the Spring, as well as to meet and greet new families to our school. Any questions, contact Jamie Caulfield at jacaulfieldjr@gmail.com. Make sure to attend this always popular "Back-to-School" event. Faith grows when it is well expressed in celebration - Good celebrations foster and nourish faith. The Second Vatican Council called the entire Church to reflect on the role of the laity. It reminded us that all Christians, by virtue of their baptism, are called to spread the gospel, to continue the work of building the Kingdom of God, and, most especially, to offer worship. St. Jane s provides all parishioners with the opportunity to regularly celebrate vibrant, faith-enriching liturgy. Liturgical Ministers at St. Jane s live out their faith, give back to their parish, and answer God s call to serve their neighbors. We invite you to be a part of our parish s Liturgical Ministry.
