Like the mystery of the Trinity, the real presence of the Body and Blood of Christ in the Eucharist can never be fully understood, but can only be believed. Just as the Israelites in the desert were invited to put their trust in God s word to them, we are invited to trust wholly in the word of Jesus. In today s Gospel Jesus promises to give us a share in his very own flesh and blood, and a share in eternal life besides. We are called to take him at his word and open our hearts to receive true nourishment and life from our participation in the Eucharist. Holy Mary, help those in need, give strength to the weak, comfort the sorrowful, pray for God's people, assist the clergy, intercede for religious. 3 WELCOME FR. JOSEPH TRAN The Holy Spirit Church Family welcomes Fr. Joseph Tran as our parish administrator effective July 1. Fr. Tran has been appointed by Bishop Vann to replace Msgr. Tuan. A brief bio about Father Joseph Thuong Tran. He was born in Saigon, Vietnam, on May 28, He began his spiritual calling as an altar server at an early age. Along with millions of Vietnamese refugees, Fr. Joseph and his family arrived in the US in He attended seminary school in Wisconsin, Iowa and completed his priesthood education at Mount Angel Seminary, Oregon. Fr. Joseph was ordained on June 11, 2005 and has served at parishes for St. Norbert, Holy Family Cathedral, St. Callistus (now Christ Cathedral), and St. Polycarp. Please keep Fr. Joseph in your prayers as he continues to serve our Lord at our Parish. SUMMER OFFICE HOURS Due to slower traffic, the Parish and Faith Formation Offices will be closed on Saturdays. Lexie has over 10 years of music ministry experience at St. Mary Magdalene, Corona of the Diocese of San Bernardino. There, he served as the Youth and Young Adult Music Coordinator while studying Worship Arts at Hope International University. This basic certification provides students with a basic foundation of Catholic Church Teaching.
