Our mission is to enrich the spiritual life of all parishioners, through the active participation in prayer and the sacraments, promoting opportunities to grow in faith and hope, and providing a place to come together in the love of God and neighbor. 2 SUNDAY S READING REFLECTION TRUE BLINDNESS Bartimaeus caused a stir. Normally he sat by the side of the road being a good blind beggar. But one day Jesus passed nearby. Bartimaeus jumped up and called out to Jesus. We can imagine him turning toward the direction of the commotion and noise. Bartimaeus probably had his arms outstretched as he shouted out to the son of David. The people who knew him were embarrassed by his outburst. They tried to hush him up and get him to sit back down by the roadside. Their actions spoke volumes: Bartimaeus, you re not fit for Jesus. But it was okay for them and other sighted people to follow Jesus. In today s readings, we learn that true blindness is not a condition of our eyes but of our hearts. Praying with the Word: Holy Spirit, fill our hearts with your encouragement, so that we, like Bartimaeus, might boldly call out to Jesus in our need, confident that He can save us. Amen. EUCHARISTIC ADORATION Adoration for November will be on Wednesday, November 4, after the 9:00am Mass and will continue until the 6:30am Mass on Thursday, Nov. 5. Weekly Exposition is held every Friday after the 9:00am Mass until Saturday before the 9:00am Mass. Come and keep Jesus company for one hour. As part of Respect Life Month, this diocesan-wide campaign is held to raise funds to support our Orange County clinics, homes, shelters and mobile vans serving women and minors in crisis pregnancies. They provide counseling, baby needs, housing and transitional shelter for unwed mothers. Proceeds are equally divided among these centers: Horizon Pregnancy Clinic, Obria Clinics, Casa Teresa, Mary's Shelter, Life Center, and Precious Life Shelter. Please check out the Horizon Mobile Van that will be on display for viewing today, from the Horizon Clinic in Huntington Beach. This is one of the many outreach services that are supported by your help in this baby saving work! Bottles are available at all the entrances for your coins, currency and checks.
