May they rest in peace. Stewardship Reflection for July 20, 16th Sunday in Ordinary Time 1. Think of a charity which is amply blessed at Christmas. Remember them with a gift mid-year. 2. Invite a single friend over for a meal 3. Attend an extra Mass on a weekday this month 4. Abstain from something you like meat, a latte, a cold drink on Fridays and save the money for a charity. 5. Take your rosary with you for an early morning walk. 6. Recycle more. 7. Each day, say a prayer for one of the world s trouble spots.

All High School students are invited. This will be in place of CYF for the Summer. (Rocky and the young adult volunteers will be running this event). Next CYF is September 7, 7:30 9:30 pm EDGE Game Night: Monday nights in July, 6:00 8:00 pm, meet in the Classrooms in Doyle Hall. Snacks will be provided. All Junior High and High School students are invited to come to game nights. This is a fun way to meet new friends, play awesome games, and eat yummy snacks. We usually play a large group game (at Masuda or Green Valley), play board games and hang out in the classrooms afterward. Thursday, July 31 is Beach Bum Summer Bash day, hosted by St. Bonaventure Parish in Huntington Beach, 3:00 9:00. Includes field games, sports, food, fellowship and XLT (praise, worship, talk, adoration) under the stars. Cost is $5, permission slips are required. Please meet at St. Bonaventure. Tuan Pham on Saturday, July 26, 6:30pm in the classrooms in Doyle Hall Meetings Amongst Servants and Shepherds (M.A.S.S.) the FYC Young Adult Mass is led by and geared towards YOUNG ADULTS (ages 18+) with homilies and liturgical music that resonate with our life experiences. Human Trafficking is the 2 nd fastest growing crime in the United States and its effects are being felt in every community. According to the Center for Missing and Exploited Children, over 100,000 kids under the age of 18 will become vic ms this year in the U.S. The California A orney General tells us that a Trafficker can make as much as half a million dollars a year. That much money is crea ng an incen ve for Traffickers from all over the world to come to California and congregate in affluent communi es like Orange County. Pope Frances has expressed to Catholics that the trafficking of persons is a crime against humanity and must be stopped. In order to stop it, we need to understand this issue, so we know what ac ons to take. On the weekend of July 26 and 27, Susan Durik, author of the book How You Can Fight Human Trafficking will be speaking a er all the masses le ng us know how to protect the most likely vic m which are homeless teens and foster kids. Please come to Doyle Hall, Wednesday, July 30 at 7:00 P.M. for a mee ng for all those interested in finding out more regarding what one can do to fight human trafficking. Included in the mee ng is a sec on on how to protect our own children from becoming vic ms. Given how clever the Traffickers are at tricking kids, it is important that every parent be there. Sites for hearing, smell, sight, speech, walking, and other senses are now in place. Brain can now control body temperature, rhythmic breathing, and contractions in the digestive tract, lungs have developed air sacs and our baby is making preparations to live on the outside of the womb, skin is smoothing out as fat accumulates under the skin, fine hair emerges on baby s head and toenails are fully formed, baby draws its legs up into the fetal position to make better use of what little room is left to move about. All the money raised from the cupcake sales will be donated to the Jessie Rees Foundation to send Jessie's JoyJars to kids around the world fighting cancer. These JoyJars are filled with new games, toys, and activities for courageous girls and boys to inspire them to Never Ever Give Up (NEGU). Jessie Rees was a twelve-year-old girl who was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor. She came up with the idea to send some love to pediatric cancer patients through these JoyJars.
